Pros:

We were very happy at Grano De Oro! Next time we would request a room with a window that looks outside (not just the interior hallway).

Pros:

C est un établissement ancien. Le personnel a la réception était très aimables mais les porteurs de valises n ont pas beaucoup aidé. a noter qu il y a des escaliers de plusieurs marches entre la réception et les chambres et porter soi même les valise c est pas facile.
On avait la suite, belle mais plein de courant d air et nos filles avaient une chambre standard, avec une fenêtre qui donnait sur le couloir.
De toutes façon c est le meilleur hôtel aux alentours mais il n avait rien de spécial.

O Prédio é maravilhoso, é uma antiga mansão de fámilia, tem a decoração dos corredores com objetos e fotografias de época.

Stunning hotel, beautifully decorated. Bedroom very comfortable bed exceptionally comfortable with beautiful soft sheets. Staff friendly and helpful. Food in the restaurant fantastic, will definitely be back.

Pros:

Hotel Grano de Oro is a very nice hotel, where we had lovely room. The service is excellent, friendly and efficient. The restaurant offers very nice breakfast and à la carte choices. Even though the hotel isn’t very far from the center of the city it is very quiet.

Nie place to stay in San Jose.
Pros:

Lovely old hotel in San Jose. Beautiful restaurant. The rooms are small and dated and we experienced a lot of street noise.

True Central American Ambiance
Pros:

Hotel Grano de Oro is a very charming place and an excellent starting point for a Costa Rica round trip. It’s not an anonymous chain hotel, but a place with real character. The courtyard in particular (with its restaurant) conveys a true Central American ambi-ance. The dinner menu is diverse and locally inspired. Breakfast is outstanding, gener-ous, and easily keeps you satisfied well into the afternoon.
Our room was a bit dark (both sides facing the courtyard, with large plants in front of the windows). But in the end we weren’t staying at Grano de Oro to spend time in the room.

Pros:

We weren't actually able to make our reservation due to cancellation madness at Schiphol airport because of snow. However the staff handled it absolutely brilliantly, even changing our booking to one instead of two days so we didn't have to pay for half. Amid all the travel misery, that was a really kind thing to do and as a result we'll definitely be back to stay in the hotel properly another time. Thank you!

Prima hotel voor een nachtje in San José.
Pros:

Mooi en smaakvol koloniaals ingericht hotel met goed restaurant.

Cons:

Het tocht altijd in de lobby en in het patio restaurant. De bedden zouden wat groter kunnen.
