Galen ensured a spectacular stay, as always! The Kinley will be our forever go to when visiting Cincy. The pristine cleanliness, attention to detail, and expert service is unmatched. I highly recommend The Kinley to anyone seeking a prime location and luxurious stay in Cincinnati.
We stay here every time we return home to visit family, and it consistently exceeds our expectations. The rooms are spacious, thoughtfully designed, and the high ceilings make them feel especially open and comfortable.
What truly sets this property apart, however, is the staff. They go above and beyond to ensure each stay is exceptional—and even more impressively, they remembered us by name when we arrived, despite it having been several months since our last visit. That level of care and attention to detail is rare and deeply appreciated.
It is clear that the leadership here is exceptional. The entire operation runs like a well-oiled machine, creating a welcoming, seamless experience from start to finish. It is incredibly reassuring to know that every stay will be just as wonderful as the last.
Our stay at the Kinley Hotel in downtown Cincinnati was wonderful from start to finish. Even before we arrived, the email communication was excellent — clear, helpful, and thoughtful, making sure we were fully prepared and felt welcomed ahead of time.
Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted by Dan, whose friendliness and professionalism immediately set the tone for a great stay. It’s clear the team here is well supported and genuinely takes pride in creating a great guest experience.
The room was larger than expected being downtown. It was comfortable, thoughtfully laid out, and impeccably clean. Everything felt fresh, well cared for, and inviting, which made it easy to relax after a long day/ night downtown.
And the breakfast… wow. The croissant alone deserves a special mention — absolutely outstanding and huge! One of those little details that turns a good stay into a memorable one. Not only did it taste great, but was served very quickly... no real wait.
Between the attentive communication, welcoming staff, cleanliness, and comfort, the Kinley Hotel truly stands out. We would happily stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting downtown Cincinnati.
Every time I come to Kinley I got smaller room despite my Gold Elite status. I wonder if they have any smaller than this time. I will know next month. Other than, the hotel is clean, everything works and service is fine. There are few restaurants around so all is fine. The breakfast is limited and starts at 7 so I miss it as I need to leave before 7 every day. Still. much better place than any other Marriott hotel except for Lytle
Pros:
Great location - we walked to a lot of sites, including the riverfront parks, Fountain Square, the Taft Museum, and the Underground RR museum.
Fortunately the other guests weren’t loud, in spite of a wedding group and Bengals fans being there. It seemed to be a relatively quiet hotel given that it’s in the city. There were ear plugs in the bathroom just in case.
The front desk staff and valet folks were super nice and helpful.
Mehs and Cons:
Decor is modern and hip but IMO, too dark in the hallways. A lot of the surface finishes need a facelift- some of the doors and elevator walls look a little rough. The drapes in our room were a bit cattywampus and couldn’t be closed all the way, which was a small issue with the city lights. We discovered an eye mask in a drawer when we checked out. Too late for us!
Overall, our room was fairly clean and housekeeping did a decent job except on our third day in town, when our old towels weren’t removed and replaced, nor was the room trash or recycling removed. The Nescafé machine also needed a little TLC, so we didn’t use it. Housekeeping on the third day was fantastic (Breonna). Our bed was comfy and the AC worked great.
Bath linens were a mixed bag. Hand towels and washcloths were nice and thick but for most of our stay, the larger bath towels were very thin, like what you’d expect in the most basic of motels. The plastic strip on the shower door was full of pink mold - I can’t unsee that. Our shower products’ packaging was peeling, and had seen better days.
The bar area sometimes smelled a little like weed, probably because there is an alleyway just outside of it.
We didn’t try the hotel dining options but I did get some very overpriced coffee - a little too weak for the money.
I’m not sure I would stay at this hotel again, other than for the price point, location, and very nice staff members.
When we first entered the room we found a bug on the curtain and hairs on the sheets. We called and they instantly switched our room. The rooms were alittle above average and it cost us $60 a day to park
Very nice hotel
Deante was the ultimate host and Galen will make sure all your plans are secure and your trip is flawless. The rooms are fantastic! We felt a little like a little oasis steps from downtown Cincinnati! Truly a gem in the city! Having a restaurant and bar on sight was perfect for the times we didn’t want to go out! 5⭐️

Very friendly staff
Small, shoddy construction and over priced.
I had an great stay at The Kinley Cincinnati Downtown! I love the hotel’s modern style. I wish I had more time to explore the various amenities this hotel offers. My room was spotless and decorated, this made my stay truly enjoyable. The bathroom was spacious and elegant. I had the pleasure of meeting the general manager, Galen Gordon and great staff who made me feel welcome and at home. I highly recommend this beautiful hotel to anyone seeking
This hotel was one of a kind. The decor, the high vaulted ceilings in the room made the look extraordinary. The staff was extremely friendly and professional. The location was central to a lot of places. I will definitely be back!
Staff was helpful and very friendly. Hotel was very nice. Room was super clean. Would stay again! And definitely recommend!
Neighborhood was concerning and very loud until late at night. Cars and motorcycles racing down the street.
Will start by saying the staff is extremely pleasant, particularly the front desk which is why the hotel received three stars instead of 2. The hotel itself is not in the best location, as it is about two blocks away from the rest of the downtown Cincinnati hotels. We never really felt unsafe however never really felt comfortable either. Upon entering, the front door was very dirty and the hotel has a very strange smell. The rooms are small and not much effort is put into making them feel comfortable. There are scratches all over the walls of the elevators and rooms. The fitted sheets didn’t fit the bed. Overall for it to be called a Marriott property it lacks the attention to detail I would expect from the company. At the same price point save yourself the trouble and go stay at Lytle Park Hotel.
All the staff were very friendly and helpful. We had an issue with the blackout blinds in our room which was quickly sorted and we were offered a complimentary breakfast for the inconvenience. We also had a very early checkout and the valet staff were on it and had our car there early.
The hotel is in a good location. Bar in the hotel is fine, breakfast and service weren't great.
Came for a couple nights while in town for work. Valet was friendly and helpful, but when I went to check in, I stood and waited about 10 minutes before anyone came to the desk to check me in. The property is decent, the room was relatively comfortable and décor was nice. The bed’s top sheet was “pilled” where the threads were coming out of the fabric – might be time to replace this one with a new one. Curtains in my room needed some work, as they wouldn’t completely close and they were coming unhooked at the very top.
On my second day I came back to the room around 3PM after a day of meetings only to find the room hadn’t been refreshed yet. Worked in the room a couple of hours and then headed out. Came back later in the evening and it seems in between then they came in to refresh the room. Kind of odd to wait until so late in the day to perform housekeeping.
Overall, not a bad place to stay, but I feel it could be so much better.
VERY nice property conveniently located where I needed. Excellent and friendly staff from the valet to the front desk and restaurant staff. My family had two rooms. The double bed room was a little small but king bed room was spacious and had a nice couch in there which would have been nice in the double room as well. I would definitely stay there again and appreciated the pleasant stay. I was nervous that it would be a small boutique that would not meet our needs but that was not the case.
Wonderful time, enjoyed the moment. Clean, nice atmosphere and relaxed. Just Wonderful to be able to get away. Would definitely come again.
