A rotting carcass of former excellence
Pros:

Sleep quality is excellent, as in all Kempinski hotels. The SPA is decent, with a nice variety of saunas, a cold plunge. The person responsible for valet parking - Lauris - incredible job - charismatic, good energy and just an overall highlight of the entire experience

Cons:

Treatment from the staff was abhorrent - starting with the front desk lady who checked me in - unwelcoming, with an attitude and judgemental - made a visibly judgemental grimace when I asked her to send a bottled water to my room. The waiting staff at their upstairs restaurant (Stage 22) - catastrophic... dark haired waitress - rude, incompetent. Mixed up order on every possible level, was openly rude and just left a horrible taste (in contrast to her wonderful colleague). The rooms are in a dire need of a refresh - outdated, worn

The coffee at breakfast is tasteless; you expect unique desserts from a 5* hotel, not the standard selection of croissants and buns.

Luxurous stay at Riga
Pros:

The room is enormous size. The view to Opera nice but actually just for once. The breakfast is marvelous with a lot of complementary options
