The noisiest hotel I’ve ever stayed in. We arrived at quarter to 9 pm only to find the restaurant below affiliated to the hotel closed at 9pm and while they did serve us a couple of beers grudgingly we were told the kitchen had closed at 2055 hrs. Not even an offer of some bar food or snack. Then at around 430-am the noise started, guys making deliveries up the cobble stones using trolleys and little delivery vans which beep. We might as well have stayed right next to a motorway. The guys doing the deliveries constantly spoke loudly and the trolleys on the cobbled streets continuously going up and down rattled and pounded meaning we were awake from 5am onwards. If you are looking for a peaceful night’s sleep you can completely forget this hotel and location. Given what we paid you’d expect far better. As for everything closing down at 9pm, you’d be far better staying off in the adjacent town. The noise though, the clattering is still resounding in my ears as I type this review.
It's a typical tourist trap. You pay for location only (which is definitely great). Receptionists were helpful and friendly too. The bed was large enough and we slept well.
Our room was super small and so was the bathroom. Cleanliness was mediocre and everything looked aged and a little broken.
And as there is no air conditioning, i guess the rooms get really hot in summer.
It's definitely not worth the price of 250 € a night off- season. Breakfast was mediocre as well, waitress not welcoming at all.
If you want to enjoy the Mont in the evening, go there and maybe have dinner, but look for a hotel in the nearby village. There are buses to and from the Mont until 11pm off- season and until 1am during high season.
The hotel is wonderfully located, and the staff were truly exceptional—kind, attentive, and always going above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Their warmth made a real difference during our stay. Breakfast was excepcional.
Unfortunately, a few things affected what was meant to be a very special trip. I had booked this visit to celebrate my grandson’s 10th birthday, so we were hoping for a memorable experience. Our room door had no number on it, only a large scratch where it should have been, which gave an unexpected impression on arrival.
And that evening, around 10:00 p.m., the fire alarm went off. We were quite confused about what to do and ended up locked out of our room in our pajamas until someone came to assist us.
I truly believe none of this reflects the dedication of the wonderful staff, who were always helpful and gracious. Still, it did affect a celebration we had been looking forward to for a long time. We enjoyed the hotel and the people so much that I would genuinely love the opportunity to return and experience the stay again under calmer and more fortunate circumstances. I hope the hotel can give us that opportunity.
What was going to be the highlight of our holiday, the whole experience turned out a huge disappointment.
We ended up being stuck in the Annexe, which is no where near the main hotel, we ended up in basically a basement, the outlook was a roof with holes & an overgrown “ garden”.
The room was filthy, carpet covered in stains, black mould under bathroom sink, hardly any room to get in & out the shower.
Dust, the voile panels(net curtain) hide dirty mouldy windows that hadn’t been cleaned in years.
The stairs down to this annexe were a health hazard, covered in pigeon poop, no handrail to hold onto going down the rickety stairs, no light to show you stairs when you go back in the dark.
Outside the Annexe door, there were cigarette ends & rubbish piled up.
When I came home, I made a massive complaint for this very unhealthy expensive room, eventually after chasing a reply, they said sorry that they had spoilt our experience & refunded me 50% of the cost of our rooms which was appreciated. They had admitted that the hotel needed upgrading.
Staff smoking at our door. Rubbish and mussel shells and a bucket they used as an ashtray was 1 metre from our door. Inside room was clean though.
Check in was at a different building and the accommodation was a little difficult to find. Don’t take much luggage as it is a steep walk and space in the room was limited. The room was adequate, but small. But the reason to stay is that it is on Mont St Michel. You can enjoy the location after the tourists leave and again before they arrive.
The room was clean, the bed comfortable, shower warm and the location unbeatable. There were plenty of outlets and lighting and the breakfast was amazing. Definitely worth the cost.
We loved the location but for the price we paid for the room we thought the room was poorly maintained. The pillow I was provided was so hard and uncomfortable and could not be swapped until the next day. The breakfast provided was good.
Petit hôtel rustique directement au Mont-Saint-Michel
It is a very small room but fine for one night. The bathroom and linens were very clean but there was an odd smell in the bathroom. The reception host was lovely but just after check in time, at 4pm, there was only one person working. So a very long wait.
Room was extremely small, which we expected, but it was very hard to get to one side of the bed. The carpet was completely stained and disgusting. The bathroom had no place to set toiletries. The bath tub drain was clogged and while showering it filled up with water. And the topper was at 6:30 in the morning, there were very loud workers delivering crap outside the window.
We enjoyed our stay very conveniently located to the entrance friendly staff. Breakfast was very good. All around great stay.
We had a fantastic stay on MSM. The room was modern and clean and I'm sure a small problem with the shower screen will be quickly fixed by management. The location was perfect and the buffet breakfast was absolutely delicious. Excellent value overall and we highly recommend staying overnight at Les Terrasses Poulard.
Good stay . Helpful staff
Filthy room, disgusting toilet, that we had to report that is was never cleaned, stains on carpet, no room to get in and out of shower! Part of the hotel where we were is in an annex, down steps at the back of where breakfast is served. It is a filthy area! Broken bottles, cigarette ends and other waste just left for us to try to navigate! If I could do a minus score I would, it is vile at this hotel!!
Property located close to the bottom of Mont
We stayed as two couples. The hotel rooms were very clean and well equipped. We were beside the restaurant for breakfast which was handy. Was lovely to stay in the island and have the quieter times at night and early morning before the crowds came.
Really basic small room with super small bathroom. Bad smelt. No common spaces at the hotel, at the reception even no toilette available for guests. Breakfast available in a restaurant close located , really dirty with poor service. Birds were entering and eating from the breakfast self service. I was with my family and we all felt uncomfortable.
There aren’t many options if you want to stay on the island of Mont Saint Michel. The property is very clean but extremely outdated and no AC (which is says in description). Definitely not for people who have mobility issues as there are many steps. Our bed was comfortable and they do provide a fan.
Great room right across from St Peters church. Convenient for Thursday night adoration. Top shelf breakfast with a view.
