We did not wind up staying. Required multiple calls to get someone to check us in. Required re-key because the door would not open and almost had to have it done a third time. The TV only got the Smithsonian channel and could not be changed. We could not get any hot water after running the water for 10 minutes. Finished our trip rather than waiting for the next day.
There was not anyone in the office when we checked in. We had to call a number to get instructions on how to program our key cards for our room.
The temperature was fine. Noticed no hot water at the sink but fine in the shower. Used both the microwave and the mini refrigerator. Appreciated both and the table to eat at. A room with twin beds for a solo traveler would save the housekeeper having to remake a 3/4 unused king bed! The Pilgrim Inn is my "home-away-from-home twice a year!

No staff
I can't even begin to describe how horrible this place is. Absolutely the worst cheap, crap motel (dump) I've ever stayed at. No staff to be found at check-in or any other time. The stink in the room was atrocious, the toilet didn't flush, the hot water took a solid 10 mins to work, the sink stunk when the water was on, the hair dryer blew cool air only. No help from staff when asking for another pillow. In fact, we stayed 2 nights and didn't see a sole who worked there. The bed was mushy, sheets discolored and had stains on them. We were totally grossed out by this place. Should be knocked down and rebuilt.
There are no human beings at the hotel!! They don't interact with you. You go to the counter, you make a phone call. Somebody gets on the line and checks you in. We had several questions because the TV didn't work. There was no remote and the AC wasn't working and there was no conditioner in the tub.. we called 7 times And nobody answer it, They eventually just blocked my number so they wouldn't have to hear me calling anymore.. unbelievable... so nobody should go to this place.
TERRIBLE - DO NOT BOOK HERE. No one at the desk so we could t check in. Waited, called all numbers, no answer. Luckily the hotel across the street had space!
No one at desk. Room not completely serviced. Towels still damp. Sheets put wrongly on bed. No response to telephone calls. Dirty wash cloths and soap in shower. Ridiculous.
When checking in no one was at desk we had to call a number then check ourselves in. The bed was not comfortable even though a mattress topper was over mattress. Horrible odor in room.

Front desk not attended, self checkin. Room was clean. No ice, only 1 tv channel, WiFi weak, refrigerator did not cool. Pay a few dollars more and stay at another hotel.
I've stayed, off and on, at this motel for decades. But both the service and accommodations have gone downhill and are in need of a major overhaul. There was no one on site to check me in; it was handled remotely by putting my credit card in a machine while talking to someone on the phone. Room was in a state of disrepair. Tub was old and dirty. Bathroom door opened into the toilet. Sink did not drain properly and faucet did not provide hot water. Electrical items were not plugged in. Pool was closed and looked like a construction site. No maid service. No breakfast. Parking lot was uneven and in need of paving. For all of the above reasons, I didn't feel totally safe. I did speak to an onsite caretaker who was very nice; none of this is her fault.
I had to call someone to check I, then I made my own room key, then I saw the room. It was a dive. Nasty.
No pool which was a main reason to be there..no notification on their site it was closed..didnt ckean room while we there..no ice..no office attendant

Checking in over the phone was a bit odd. It’s a good, bare bones option. If all you need is a place to sleep for the night, it fits the bill. Amazing breakfast place across the street.
Read reviews about checking in & was worried. I had no problem. Called the phone # - lady answered right away. Walked me through the payment & key card process & I was done & in my room in 5 minutes. She gave us a different room & it was clean & looked like all new bathroom and curtains. We'll definitely stay here again
Very comfortable and in a convenient location
Sheets on bed were dirty. Iron provided had something melted all over it. Shower had no water pressure... unable to properly rinse (short) hair. Check-in is done via phone in lobby; was okay once got used to this and no one actually being present for service.
When arriving housekeeping staff stood outside a room, smoking so that the smell was unavoidable when entering/exiting the lobby or any of the rooms of that building.
