A great base for visiting the local area and Barcelona. There's nothing to fault here and the food is especially good for a value for money hotel.
My sister and I stayed on a 3 night break. I just want to say thank you so much to all the hotel staff. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there. Rooms clean. Food was beautiful. Different menu every day. Lots to choose from. Staff was so attentive. All the other guests we met at our stay where lovely. I definitely want to come back x
We have been going to this hotel for years ( been twice this year ) and will definitely be going back. Hotel is immaculate, the staff are lovely and helpful , the restaurant manager greets you with a smile every meal time and especially Mohamed who can’t do enough for you , very good value for money stones throw from the shops and beach and lovely restaurants,
From the moment we checked in through to the moment we checked out it was fantastic! Food A⭐️ from breakfast Prosecco with orange juice to the freshly cooked tapas each evening was delicious and for a weeks stay was plenty of choice. Food was always fresh and topped up regularly so not sitting ages under lights. You will however not find chicken nuggets or similar as it’s all about traditional Spanish ingredients and was yummy.
Bedrooms are standard, clean linen, fresh towels and aircon which when away on hols is all you need.
Staff are all friendly and nothing is too much trouble. The cherry on the cake was free sunbed vouchers for the beach which is only a 2 minute walk away. Right beside a funky beach bar with delicious sangria.
Our holiday with Jet2 Holidays at Hotel Amaika was unfortunately quite disappointing. The hotel itself is outdated and in need of renovation. We paid extra for a sea view room, but it turned out to be only a partial sea view — it’s a shame no one mentioned this beforehand. It really feels like Jet2 Holidays didn’t even check the actual conditions at the hotel.
The biggest disappointment, however, was the food. Breakfast was acceptable, but lunch and dinner were almost the same every day. On one occasion, we were even served raw meat from the grill. Because of that, there were days when we only ate breakfast.
On a positive note, the reception staff were friendly and helpful. The restaurant staff were also kind and attentive, especially the waiter Gérard, who was very polite and helpful.
Two good things we can mention are the comfortable bed and the vouchers for sunbeds on the beach. Unfortunately, apart from that, the stay was disappointing and did not meet our expectations.
Really central hotel could not fault it at all, clean, spacious room , good WiFi, food amazing fresh omelettes for breakfast. Plenty of sun loungers ,staff lovely and helpful. Wish I had been able to stay longer .
Just got back from ten night's in this beautiful hotel.
Staff were amazing cleanliness was fantastic room cleaned everyday with clean towels and pillow cases everyday ( I have a bad habit of not taking my makeup off after a few drinks).
Drinks were fantastic good measures even cava which is my favourite.
Glass inside plastic pool area which is perfect.
We had no problem getting the free sunbeds on the beach but maybe its because the hotel wasn't full with it been september. Pool a little small but again we always managed to get a sunbed.
Food was excellent although snacks were very poor. Hotdogs burgers to heat up yourself and a few sandwiches but if you didn't get there early all the burgers and hotdogs had gone and not replaced. Its a shame as after a long day on the beach dinner was a long wait at 7.30pm.
Bed was really comfy room noce but no drawers for storage and no mirror on the dressing table so had to hop from wardrobe mirror and bathroom mirror to apply my makeup and do my hair.
Unfortunately the hair dryer was in the bathroom attached to the wall which is common in hotels I know. But it was very weak and got very hot to hold. Took me about 20 minutes to dry my hair so had to do it before my partner had his shower which took alot of time getting ready. Ladies I suggest taking your own hair dryer.
Be careful in the sea...no lifeguards and the current is very strong which resulted in us getting rolled and dragged under. Not anything to do with the hotel though. Its just mother nature.
The blue sea bar isn't what I expected very small measure of wine and we didn't get our hotel discount so only visited once.
But I woukd define recommend this hotel and resort and would 100% return.
Oh and the egg Chef on a morning was a joy.

Don't expect pizza (its normally my go to if I dont fancy anything else) but there an amazing pizza shop on the corner near the beach.
I have just checked out of this hotel after one weeks stay - I am a 40 something English woman on a solo holiday and from start to finish the staff on reception have been nothing but rude to me. On check in, my passport was taken and room key thrust into my hand, barely two words spoken - that was my welcome. Yesterday I asked for a late check out and was told one word ‘no’ and just now a reception the lady snatched my card off me and walked away and went to serve someone else - for me to find where the luggage room is.
I wasn’t planned on coming back to this hotel, although the superior rooms are lovely and the seemily judgemental, rude staff attitude towards me (presumably because I’m not there ideal older client) has left such a bitter taste in my mouth.
I have paid just like anyone else and should receive the service other person do - I’ve travelled a lot and have never stayed in a hotel where I’ve been treated this way.
Merinäköala ilman lisämaksua, koska kerros oli 5 ja uima-altaan puolelle. Huoneen lattian siivoamisessa parantamisen varaa. Aamiaisella lämpimät tuotteet olivat liian haaleita 2 viikon kokemuksella. Aamiaisella kokin paistopisteellä oli epäselvä jonotussysteemi ja epäystävällinen palvelu sillä valmiita kananmunia ei annosteltu vaan käskettiin odottamaan jonon päässä edellä olevien asiakkaiden ohukaisten valmistumista. Aamiaisen avauduttua munakkaisiin ei saanut heti täytteitä. Allasalue on pieni asiakasmäärään nähden joten aamulla ennen klo 9 täytyi seisoa jonossa, jos halusi aurinkotuolin käyttöönsä. Sijainti on erinomainen ajatellen ravintoloita, ostoksia ja rantaa. Huolimatta epäkohdista suosittelen hotellia.

Just returned today & my review is honest .
Hotel needs updating ( 3 * ) at best .
Booked All inclusive but did not feel the hotel made you feel welcoming or a all inclusive customer.
Rooms were OK but very stuffy.
Had to que for long time to get in dining room to eat ( Breakfast / lunch / dinner) & food outdated .
Bar staff not very customer friendly ( except Cecilia) & always asked to scan wristband to get drink even All inclusive ( Never ever happened anywhere else previously . Bar staff always had their favourites for serving .
Entertainment was non existent.
Paying for all inclusive & yet eating out 4 days out of 7 is not what all inclusive is about .
Only good points pool & nearby beach ⛱.
Overall very disappointed & needs complete change throughout .

Great food at all times but the real issued came when the bed collapsed (3 times) and they done nothing. Refused to provide a copy of the Accident Report because I suspect it wasn't completed.

3. Food top!!! There is something for everyone!
4. Pool might be tiny but you get free sun lounges on beach if you ask in morning on reception!

The location is easy to be accessed by bus (5min to bus station to BCN), cca 3 mins to the beach and 5 min from the walking street with shops and restaurants. The position of the hotel is a 10!
The atmosphere is nice, but most visitors are elderly (65+) and rarely younger couples. This is so-so..
The room we stayed at was double room that had both sea view and street view. The room was renovated but three negative aspects: one half of the bed was "ruined", the matress was not firm and was crackling.
Then, the hairdryer was blowing very weakly and the balcony door didn't have a lock which raises a safety question. We adressed these points to the reception, however they weren't solved, fixed and we weren't offer neither a discount for the inconveniences nor a room switch. This raises the question of customer services of the hotel. This is a 5/10...
The room service is 10/10, every day the rooms are cleaned, new set of towels and every second day, new set of bedding was changed.
The entire hygine in the hotel is 10/10, starting from the hotel entrance moving to the stairs, beneth the sofas in the hall, shared toiletts etc...
We arrived by a shuttle bus service provided by Perlatours (third party service of Moventis buses) and we were dropped of at the hotel.
We had All inclusive, and the breakfast everyday is the very same, however the lunches and dinners worth a while. For every lunch and dinner, there were fresh meat and fish that were barbacued. Tapas were served all the time and fresh salads. Staff in the restaurant are very polite, hospitable, starting from Mr. Andres moving to the waiters Mr. Mohamed, Mr. Elvis and Mr. Gerard. The food cooked by Mr. Ba was extremely delicious. The restaurant ges a clean 10 in every sense!
Entertainment team is good, funny and friendly, take time to the guests.
The bar is okey, swimming pool is a bit of small for the hotel capacity, but every time you can find free sunbeds.
Highly disliked is that tickets for sunbeads and sunumbrellas for thr beach had to be picked up every single morning at 08 a.m. and there is a limited number of tickets! Every morning the queue for the tickets is very long. This should be a vacation, and not getting up in 07.30 a.m. to get the tickets. The hotel management has to overcome this highly negative side, because many guests disliked it and were irritated by this. If this is a four star hotel, such poor beach ticket managment policy shouldn't take place! This is 1/10 rate.
Some of reception staff was not polite, didn't get good along with english (or didn't like to anwser) and were nervous. On the other hand, other members of the reception staff were polite, customer orientated, helpful like Mr. Franki and Ms. Laura.
Generally in our experience the hotel is 8/10.
Breakfasts are very poor, no alternative, rooms are dirty, they never wash floors. Balconies are dangerous and very small. No shelves in shower for your stuff. To use safe you need to go to reception and get the locker.
Le personnel est très serviable et à notre écoute. Les buffets sont variés du petit-déjeuner au dîner. Seuls bémols: piscine beaucoup trop petite pour le nombre de chambres, et coffre fort payant. Heureusement que des transats et parasol sont à disposition pour la plage (mais il faut se lever de bonne heure pour s'inscrire....)
We returned home yesterday, and what a fabulous time we had. The main thing for us was the food. Brilliant breakfasts, lovely lunches & delightful dinners. And not forgetting terrific tapas. The staff are very friendly and the hotel is very clean. We will definitely be back.
Stayed here first week of September, paid for a double superior room, it was very spacious with a very big comfy bed, and had pool side view. Fridge in the room keeps drinks very cold and the shower is very warm
Restaurant was nice, we went full board and they have a good selection of different food each time, plus the waiters and waitresses are very efficient
Pool area was also nice, there was generally a few spare beds throughout the day, but like any hotel you’ll have to be down there when the pool opens to get sunbeds if you plan on being next to the pool all day.
Calella was lovely, big town with lots of restaurants, shops and things to do. The beach there is nice, just a bit stoney, and harsh on the feet. There is also a train station which takes you along the coast to Barcelona - we used this twice, and it’s a very popular train. First time we went out we took the 1038am train and it was packed, second time we took 1238pm train and it was much quieter so we could sit down.
Overall, nice hotel in a good location and would definitely recommend
The overall experience was below average. The rooms were clean.
Some of the reception staff were not very friendly or welcoming. We felt like they did not care, just doing their bare minimum required with grumpy and serious face.
Interactions with staff sets a tone on the whole stay.
I must mention that the waiting and kitchen staff in general were kind.
Another thing, we were disappointed about is the food which wasn't great. Not many healthy options, lots of carbs and meat served was mostly processed and lacked quality. If someone likes seafood then this place is for them I suppose as there were many seafood options. There were not many options for non-seafood eaters like us. There was one instance where the chef from the cooking station served me chicken half cooked, raw inside. I pointed it out to the waitress but there was no action from them. For those unaware raw chicken might seriously poison you. That was off putting and after that we chose not to eat anything prepared at the cooking station.
Desserts weren't great either, most of it tasted like it was directly from the supplier, not worth the calories.
