Absolutely beautiful hotel and staying there a wonderful experience in one of the most interesting and glorious areas in Italy. Everything about this hotel was exceptional, the decor, the rooms, the facilities, best ever swimming pool and area and a bar with one of the best views in the World. Their own restaurant is a culinary exception, and the best staff ever encountered. Did I mention the breakfast with glorious offerings accompanied by that same awe inspiring view. Did I mention the best and most proficient and attentive staff ever.
Not enough time allowed to enjoy this hotel.
This is the 2nd time we stayed at this hotel, and it was very good. Almost every single thing in this hotel is perfect. If I go again to Sorrento we will definitely stay again there
While all is "almost" perfect. The facilties of rooms could be improved. For instance it lacks at least one extra light in the room, also more space to store clothes. That makes a bit difficult to get organised. If it had this better, I would have put a 10 out of 10.
besutiful
pool closes too early
Stunning hotel on the rock cliffs overlooking Sorrento Bay, the view of Sorrento was great and one also looks across to Mt Vesuvius and Naples. Our room on the 4th floor with a balcony was superb. The staff and service were excellent, breakfast had a huge selection of food. Very nice pool to have a quick swim post a day of sightseeing.
2 minor suggestions. A complimentary bottle of water could be left in the room each day like most other 4/5 star Italian hotels. And maybe time to move to higher quality towels in the bathroom.
The Hotel is GREAT. Nice staff, clean, beautiful location. The restaurant at the pool is great. Very nice lifeguards and restaurant staff. The pool is very nice. Breakfast was nice.
Since we added our grandchild we were move to a room that could house 3 people. We were moved to ROOM 402. It was on 2 floors. The bedroom and bathroom are on the top floor with a window that opened only slightly. The staircase was narrow and very steep. In all my years of travelling this was the worst room I ever stayed in. After 3 days in Capri we are back at the Tramontano. We were given room 105. I will never stay at the Tramontano again unless they tell me what room I will get. 318, 407, 105 are great. Stay away from 402!
Location / the view / room.
No complimentary water next to the bed. No coffee or kettle and cups in the room. No turn down service at night with fresh towels. Very disappointing
The overall staff and service were wonderful! Everyone from the front desk to housekeeping and the breakfast team was attentive and helpful. We especially loved the balcony bar over the gulf—the team was nice enough to get us a table to see the Ferragosto fireworks, which was a real highlight. The lift taking you straight down to the dock and beach was another major bonus!
We were really disappointed by the poor service at the pool—the lifeguard was quite rude and would ignore us when we raised our hands for help with the umbrella, yet he would rush over immediately if we tried to adjust it ourselves. Additionally, the air conditioning did not work at all despite being told it did. Lastly, our Superior Double Room with Garden View was overpriced for how small it was, and the total lack of a dresser or storage meant we had to live out of our suitcases.
Location and staff
The views are exceptional and everyone is so friendly
Only that it doesn’t have a gym but that’s a small issue
I stayed (on my own) at the Tramontano for 13 nights and was delighted to be upgraded when I arrived. This was a wonderful treat and very much appreciated!!!
My room, with a view to the Southwest of the bay was very spacious, with plenty of storage, comfortable bed AND pillows, roomy shower. My kind thanks to the hard work of the cleaning staff who kept the room so clean and refreshed.
The pool and adjacent terraced restaurant were both excellent and spacious. Plenty of choices of food and Francesco kept the pool looking exceptional. A real gem who doesn’t take his responsibilities lightly. Surrounding the pool is a lush garden with bananas plants, several varieties of cacti, natives and palms. Beautifully maintained and terraced.
The bar with attached terrace is a wonderfully relaxing place to end a busy day. I loved the history and old charm of the entire property. One might say ‘it’s a bit dated’ but with a property dating back to the 14th century I wouldn’t want the villa modernised too much or it would impact the wonderful historic charm, especially considering an Italian Poet was born at Tramontano!!
The lift to the beach was a real treat and I took advantage of the partnership arrangement with Lionelli’s Beach Club.
Breakfast was plentiful and the staff were available to assist whenever needed. While all the staff were very professional, I need to compliment Emilio for his exceptional service and kindness.
When I was coming to the end of my visit Dario assisted me with timings to train and details for departure.
There was nothing I didn’t like about the property. It must be incredibly hard to maintain such a treasure and I saw a gentleman’s painting the front gate, and sanding walls which must be an endless job. Well done for keeping the peppery looking so amazing!!
Struttura bellissima , storica ma perfettamente funzionante, organizzata e curata
Nulla
Excellent location, staff are helpful and friendly, private lift access to the beach. Great place to base yourself while exploring the Amalfi coast. Would highly recommend.
