Porto Vista Hotel Downtown

Poor service, booked a double got a single. We did not get the wifi password we were put in a room with the worse service. All intentional by the manager. We are black people it was two of us. The reservations were clear. I’m making reviews everywhere possible.

The staff is efficient and good. The parking and valet helpful. The rooms are on the smaller side and have some wear and tear. The pictures don't match the actual, esp on the HotelsTonight app. I was in a pinch and needed something for one night. It was listed as HIP which is inaccurate. This is not a boutique hotel vibe. It's clean enough and basically OK, but not where I will stay again. Had it not been last minute and so late, I would have cancelled the reservation and found another hotel.

I had a great stay at Porto Vista Hotel, and I specifically want to recognize Ervin for going above and beyond.

From the moment I arrived, Ervin was incredibly professional, friendly, and genuinely helpful. He made check-in smooth, answered all my questions with patience, and made sure I felt taken care of the entire time. You can tell he truly cares about guests and takes pride in his work — that kind of service makes a huge difference.

Because of Ervin, my stay was stress-free and enjoyable. The hotel’s location is great, and the experience was made even better thanks to his attitude and attention to detail. Employees like him are the reason people come back.

My friends and I stayed at the Porto Vista in Little Italy for TwitchCon, and it honestly ended up being such a good choice for the week. The thing that stood out the most was how clean everything was. Kiki, the Housekeeping Manager, kept checking in on us to make sure we were set, and you could tell she really takes pride in her work. Her whole team was friendly every time we saw them, and our rooms were spotless each day. After running around the convention center for hours, coming back to that kind of care made a huge difference.

The location made the trip even better. We were able to walk to places like Waterfront Park, American Plaza, the Maritime Museum, Civic Center Plaza, and even the USS Midway and Horton Plaza Park without having to deal with long drives or rideshares. Little Italy itself is packed with good food and bars, and we ended up hopping around a lot in the evenings. Nolita Hall had a great atmosphere, Kettner Exchange was one of the nicer spots we tried, and Postino became an easy hangout. Coco Maya had an awesome rooftop vibe, and Queenstown Public House was a fun, relaxed place to unwind. Herb & Wood was one of our favorite dinners of the trip. And when we didn’t feel like going anywhere at all, the Glassdoor Restaurant right at the hotel was surprisingly convenient.

The hotel had everything we needed—good WiFi, a clean gym, valet parking, and rooms that worked well for a group. I also liked that it’s pet friendly, has non-smoking rooms, and has accessibility options for anyone who needs them.

If you're coming into town for something like TwitchCon and want a place that’s clean, friendly, and close to everything, Porto Vista is a great fit. Kiki and her team really made our stay feel easy and comfortable.

The location is perfect, very well maintain premisses. The rooms are comfortable and the beds are superb! The atmosphere is super nice with all those pieces of art hung on the walls is super chick. The service is really good. The personel was always at hand, helpful and polite. They helped with my mum's wheel chair. The installations were very accessible.

Great place by little Italy, close to many restaurants too and by the airport. Wanted to give a shoutout to Leann for being sweet and accommodating, making my stay comfortable. And Terrence for helping me with maintenance. Thank you both!

We spent three nights at Porto Vista and loved every minute. The location in Little Italy is unbeatable — steps from amazing restaurants and coffee shops. Our room was spotless and modern, and the rooftop lounge offered fantastic sunset views over the harbor. The staff were warm and attentive, making check-in seamless. Can’t wait to come back!

Great location, comfortable rooms, and super friendly staff. I had a great view of the San Diego Bay. Would definitely return!

Overall very good, except for slow lobby elevator and slow drain in bathtub.

Such a great place to stay! We stayed Friday night into Saturday morning and we came at the perfect time for there to be the cutest farmers market just a block down. Plus it has beautiful views of the ocean and friendly staff!

The room was real clean.

We’ll start with what is good. The Staff and service are very friendly and made me feel welcomed. Not a leader in Guest service, but more on that later. A great touch was music from a band I was in town to see began playing once the Manager asked about my visit. Pretty cool and great touch.
The location is ideal in downtown and Little Italy. Plenty of cute shops and restaurants nearby, walking distance. The bar and restaurant upstairs is actually really good and offered an amazing sunset high rise view. Drinks were good, food mediocre. Good happy hour price.
Now the place is run down. The pictures either showcase what’s good or out of date. Although comfortable and great working AC, the room is pretty sad in its condition, reflective of most of the complex. The toilet in my room didn’t work. And when I attempted to report it, they never fixed it. I went my entire stay without a working toilet, (one night).
When checking out I addressed with Front Desk about my toilet. No apology, no offer to refund or credit. Just proceeded to look through a phone text exchange, only to find out that the wrong room was inspected, not mine. “That’s why it didn’t get fixed”. Ok that’s great, but doesn’t resolve my concern.
Well, I mostly likely will not stay here again unless this place completely goes through an overhaul. Not worth the price per night.

Parking is by valet only and very expensive. Rooms have outdoor entry, which I did not notice from the photos. While the room was redone and very clean, I would have liked that to be more obvious from the photos. It's a safe neighborhood, but the corridors are quite dark at night.

Very warm and Cozy room

It was a nice hotel the room was just very small. It was nice cause it was near little Italy. But the parking was incredibly expensive. We paid $110 for 2 days. Also we booked this hotel for the pool and when we saw the pool it was so small. Definitely disappointed.
