The hotel has replied explaining their air conditioning is centrally controlled.
No .... it wasn't working. We were supplied with a noisy floor fan for the night.

Nice hotel in a good location
Pros:

Great location near a nice shopping area, restaurants and cafes. Very helpful and friendly staff. It felt safe coming back to the hotel late in the evening after a night out.

Cons:

The hotel was nice and the room clean but it was a little more basic than I expected from the hotel star rating. Good value for the price but I think misrepresented in star rating, which would normally mean more amenities in the rooms and things like an onsite restaurant, bar etc.
