Quite location
I thought the grounds and views were absolutely beautiful it was great parking and a lovely lake to walk round as the weather was great
I thought the restaurant , snacks and some of drinks were massively overpriced, we booked a superior deluxe double room, which on line looked like a large suit, the room was lovely but nothing like the images on line, there was no smart tv , the remote control batteries died, and we ran out of shower gel and shampoo, very minor issues except for the tv . What it cost for one night these items should be checked. Also the part of the hotel where our room was situated, they had a private gala dinner in the bar and restaurant area. No body even mentioned it, which made us feel very awkward when we left and returning to the room, it wasn’t overly busy for the size of the complex, so we should of been informed or preferably allocated our stay in a different part of the hotel
The location is excellent, and it’s a beautiful hotel on the outside
Worst night sleep I’ve ever had! beds are absolutely appalling, bathrooms, tiny shower doesn’t work properly
Stayed at Walton hall last year in a hotel room which was decent but this time booked an apartment and it was absolutely amazing, very clean, has everything you need. Extremely peaceful surroundings and spa is located very close by.
More pots and pans needed for cooking
Location is great, very quiet, parking is excellent, staff responsive and helpful.
It’s a 3 star property not 4 star. It’s much more of a Premier Inn style hotel. The gym isn’t included (it used to be) so you need to pay extra for that. We needed to call up because our room had run out of hand soap and shower gel (conditioner and shampoo not offered), and there was a general sense that cost cutting has lead to a poorer guest experience.
Location
Dated/ tired
The grounds of the hotel are beautiful, the size of the 2 bedroom apartment was good
Location to explore the Cotswolds was good
False advertising the hotel showing the hall like it’s a fully functioning 4* when in fact the hall is completely empty on the ground floor, left to rot, no staff on the premises so anyone can run round
The hall does have rooms available to stay in but it’s not safe. Windows are rotten there is mould and dirty carpets I’m shocked you even allow people to stay there
Lucky for me I was in the stables a 2 bedroom apartment it was nice and large but again very dated and in need of a deep clean
The mattresses need replacing
Don’t let the photos the hotel shows you fool you it’s nothing like it and the pool is not included it’s a extra £12 a day per person
Such a shame as the Walton hall is a beautiful building just needs alot of work doing and make it safe
This was my husbands 50th birthday gift from me I thought it looked very grand and was very disappointed when we got there also I had asked for our apartment to have a little birthday decoration which staff just did not do even though I emailed and rang the hotel direct
All in all this hotel is not cheap but it’s not what you expect at all
The location was the only good thing!
I checked in before I came, when we accessed the room it hadn’t been cleaned - dirty towels on the floor, dirty bedding, bins full and grease all up the splashback, I then had to cue for at least 30 minutes to explain the situation to reception - who didn’t even apologise. Said they ‘were busy and that’s why the room wasn’t ready’ we had to wait a further 30 minutes for the cleaners to sort the room. The cleaners were the only ones who apologised.
I then had to call reception at 11pm as someone was having what sounded like a party above us. It’s such a shame as the location was lovely and we really needed a getaway but it completely ruined it for us.
Nice venue, countryside location with friendly staff, didn't really use any of the facilities but the spa / restaurant etc looked nice
Rooms have electronic locks on the door with pin codes, but no internal way to double lock the door
Our room was in the main hall and stunning.
The facilities were limited given the size of the property
The grounds could of been lovely but all run down and dirty
It was dirty and smelt of weed
The grounds are stunning. The staff are very sweet and despite obstacles they do their best.
The menu is horrendous and not worth the money.
The grounds of the building were exceptional .free WiFi and car park. The old hall was interesting.
Staff were all foreign and rude. Service was slow and u nfriendly. The facilities need a refurbishment on the exterior.Corridors poorly lit. Unmanned reception lots. Limited menu . Got asked to pay for leisure facilities on top of room but not mentioned in the booking. No jacuzzi as most spas and limited loungers. Changing rooms were unclean and towel trollies not emptied.
