Too average for a top hotel
Pros:

Hotel parking near. Shame all staff were not more smiling and hospitable in what should be a top hotel. Whole atmosphere and decor all rather austere.

Great location, but service and facility need improvement

Cons:

Indifferent staff. Except for the young lady who checked us in (do not remember her name) the rest were just not interested in service or had no clue. Breakfast team were totally flustered and service was poor. Asked for fried egg “ easy over” and got deep fried egg, even after explaining. This was two days in a row. Tables in the restaurant were wobbly and uneven. It almost felt as though the modern day “faulty towers”could be remade here, without actors.

Design and layout of amenities in the bathroom was of very poor standard. Hair drier was installed such that it was sitting above the box of tissues (also mounted on the wall with a holder), with the cords hanging in front of the tissues, making it inaccessible. The hand basin was mounted on the rear side of the wide bench, with a small rear tap. Then there was a towel rail right in front of the basin area, so to access the tap, one had to bend over and reach at least 50cm.

I believe we had booked and paid for a superior XL room, but this room didn’t seem anything like it.
