Much better hotels at the same cost.
Pros:

Dont be fooled by the Tripadvisor 4.5/5 overall reviews. Most of the great reviews are for the years prior to the 2025 renovation, when it really was a good hotel. Also, dont be fooled by the new renovations inside and out or get blinkered by the georgeous views. This hotel complex appears to only be interested in making money now, at the expense of comfort, safety and value for money. There is much better out there for the same money now.

Terrible hotel
Pros:

Do not stay at this hotel!
After visiting Cala D’or a number of times and always using inturotel hotels we were looking forward to staying at the refurbished hotel.
We arrived to a terrible sewage smell in our room. Which continued on and off for the 10 days we were there. We had the opportunity to move rooms but we were there with friends and wanted to be close to them and there wasn’t another room available in the same block.

We had requested 2 rooms side by side 6 months before travelling and we were already disappointed that they could not accommodate this on check in.

The friends we traveled with also found when they checked into their room it had not been cleaned and smelt of smoke! Not great with a baby and a young child!

They aldo had a major ant issue in their room.

Service in the bar area of the hotel is also terrible. Long waits for food and mixed up orders.

The hotel pool area is not child friendly. We were told you can’t even have inflatables in the pool and there are not enough loungers for the size of the hotel.

There was mixed information on if you could use the other hotel pools that were more child friendly. We were told on the website we could but then ushered away by life guards.

Drago land is also not sufficient to the cost of entry. There’s little shaded areas for young children and no bar or food area meaning a long walk back to the main hotel for drinks and food. Very overpriced!

Don’t bother with half or full board either.
The dinning room is incredibly noisy and cramped and theres no area to eat outside.
There also nothing child friendly, no children’s amenities at all.
You have to pay for all your drinks too including water. There no basic drinks on offer.

It’s also a struggle to swap pool towels out they are very strict about the days you can do it even if you just want to switch 1 out they won’t let you.

The check in staff are also very rude and not helpful. Unfriendly and anything you ask seems to be putting them out.

We complained about our issues and got complimentary meal at the bar.
This was also terrible. Service was very slow and our main meals arrived before our starters.

The hotel didn’t seem ready to welcome guests. Renovations were still happening while we were there. Painting being done, outside showers being tiled and waggons delivering bark and wood chips for outdoor areas.

Overall it was a terrible hotel. They were not ready to open up the public! Staff training was clearly needed and more time to finish the refurbishment.
It is not child friendly at all so if you are thinking of taking young children don’t stay here.

Avoid at all cost
Pros:

We stayed at this property and dealt with ants in our room for three full days before anyone bothered to take the issue seriously. Every time we went to the front desk, the receptionist Armando kept repeating that it was “nature” and we just had to deal with it. At one point he even raised his voice at us, which was completely unprofessional and unnecessary.

Housekeeping eventually left a can of bug spray in our room instead of actually addressing the problem. Only after days of complaints did they finally move us. They also left some kind of card/letter at our door afterward, which felt more like a dismissive gesture than a real apology.

What made the experience worse was how the staff insisted that there were no managers or higher-ups available, leaving us with no way to escalate the issue. It’s hard not to feel like the situation was handled differently because we were the only Asian guests at the property during our stay.

Overall, the entire situation was handled poorly, unprofessionally, and without accountability. I would not recommend staying here.

A quiet and chilled holiday to recharge over the school holidays.
Pros:

Being so close to such beautiful beaches was a highlight. We loved how clear the water was for snorkelling.
I didn’t realise when booking for mid term that the season was finishing in Cala D’Or. It got quieter and quieter as the week went on which took from the atmosphere a little. On the upside the pool wasn’t at all crowded and there was lots of space to relax on the deck chairs.
The accommodation was perfect and well laid out. Very clean. If I could improve on that a dishwasher would have been a nice luxury, and room service.
Price was pretty good. Staff on the front desk were extremely helpful and very nice to deal with, as were the cleaners. Good gluten free options in La Saladina.
Drago Land was more suited to younger children. Our teens opted for the sea and jumping off the rocks to get their thrills.
Evening performances particularly the singers and musicians were excellent. Bring your DEET spray for sitting out at night and avoid the pesky mosquitoes.

Pleasantly Surprised!
Pros:

We were pleasantly surprised after reading many poor reviews. It’s a nice hotel with a great location and beautiful views. We were here in mid October for 6 days.
Rooms were perfectly fine.
Breakfast was decent, a lot to choose from, with few different items everyday. It gets very busy and there is a queue after 9am but it moves quickly.
Patio restaurant was decent and prices were fair. It was also very convenient.
The main pool is very busy because there are ALOT of kids! Sunbeds around the pool are limited but there are beds scattered all around and we never had a problem getting one.
There is also an adult pool which was nice, again no problems with sunbeds.
Very nice spa with pool, saunas and treatments.
There’s also a children’s show nightly at 8pm. Kids loved it!
There are a lot of kids here, so it can be loud and chaotic at times.
Overall we had a nice time and would recommend.

Great Family Fit
Pros:

Great family-friendly location in an over-touristy town located near great beaches and stunning calas. Food was better than in needed to be and staff were friendly. No reason to come here without kids, as a heads-up, but with it is a great option.

Nice hotel but not perfect
Pros:

We stayed here for a week as a family of three in a suite with a pool view. The hotel itself is modern, clean and well-kept, and the suite was spacious enough for us. Having a separate bedroom was a real bonus with our two-year-old, as he’s used to his own room and it meant we all slept much better without disturbing each other.

The location is about a 15–20 minute walk from the centre. It’s manageable, but after a few evenings out with food and wine, the walk can start to feel a little long — by midweek we found ourselves wishing it was a bit closer.

The biggest let-down for us was the breakfast. In our opinion, the quality really didn’t match the standard of the hotel. The meat wasn’t great (the sausages were inedible and the bacon very tough), eggs were pre-cooked and often cold unless you requested fresh ones — which didn’t seem welcomed — and the variety overall was limited. The coffee was also disappointing. If, like us, you enjoy a good breakfast on holiday, this might feel like a missed opportunity in an otherwise lovely 4-star setting.

The beach is accessible but involves a lot of steps and is fairly rocky, so it may not suit everyone, particularly those with mobility issues. The pool area was very busy and noisy during the day, and getting a lounger was tricky unless you were up very early. On the plus side, the food at the main pool café was nice, though it was frustrating not being allowed to have drinks by the pool — surely plastic glasses would solve this.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would still recommend the hotel, which is why I’ve given it 4 stars. For us personally, we’d probably choose somewhere a little quieter for families next time, but this is still a very nice hotel with plenty to offer.

Pros:

Beautiful property, the beds were ok, not the most comfortable, everything else in the room was perfect other than having one day where our hot water wasn’t fully working. We knew this would be a family resort, and had adult only areas but the public beach and dining is full of other people with young children and it’s very busy and loud. I would come back if I bring my kids with me, otherwise, I would go with an adults only resort for a more relaxing experience.

Premier Inn by the sea
Pros:

I was prompted to write this belated review having seen several recent 5-star reviews for the hotel. I urge anyone considering booking here not to be swayed by them as, in my opinion, there are numerous other far superior 4* family hotels in this price bracket and there is no way this hotel can be considered best in class, which is what I think a 5-star review suggests.

To put this review into context, this was our 3rd visit to the Esmerelda Park, which I hope demonstrates that we are generally supportive of the hotel and are not negatively biased.

Firstly, the positives, the hotel is in a superb location and is very clean. The rooms are generally of a reasonable standard and comfortable.

Now the negatives. The recent refurbishment of the hotel, in my opinion, is a huge backwards step from the guest experience perspective and seems to have been focused solely on hotel profitability rather than guest experience (e.g. splash park that you have to pay for, bigger pool/beach bar and restaurant to generate more revenue).

Previously, the main swimming pools were of a reasonable size and generally coped with the number of guests staying in the hotel however it was always a struggle to get a sunbed. When I heard about the refurbishment I was hopeful that the management would have addressed the sunbed issue whilst making improvements to the pools. This is not the case, the new pools are far smaller and are not fit for purpose (too many guests for the size of pool). As a result, kids generally couldn't play, there wasn't enough room for example to play on flotation devices, jump in or throw a ball. In addition, there are now far fewer beds around the pool making the morning sunbed dash very stressful. Some people have suggested that getting a sunbed isn't a problem, it is, and we have the video evidence to prove it. The pool opens at 9.00am and all beds around the pool have gone within a couple of minutes, my Wife videoed the scramble with some people throwing towels to reserve their spot!

The additional space generated as a result of both making the pools smaller and removing some sunbeds has been given over to a new beach bar and restaurant which, although very nice, was not necessary and is clearly intended to generate additional revenue. The reduction in the number of sunbeds has forced some guests to pay to visit the splashpark as beds are available there, again revenue generating at the expense of guests.

Our hotel room was of a good size, reasonable standard, clean with adequate amenities, no complaints. Our Daughter's room on the other hand had been refurbished over the winter and was poor by any standards. I suspect the project was rushed and this shows massively in the finish. For example, light fittings were hanging off the wall, the bathroom door didn't close (it was completely the wrong size) the shower dlooded and the amenities fridge / kitchen area etc were very poor.

Food variety and quality in the buffet restaurant was poor and the restaurant struggled to accommodate the number of people, at certain times there were queues both to get in the restaurant and at the food stations.

The evening entertainment was average, although probably similar to other family hotels in which we have stayed. However, over a weekend, there was no entertainment at all which feels a bit strange.

In summary, the hotel is OK but definitely not worth a 5* review and you can almost certainly get better.

My headline of "Premier Inn by the sea" probably gives anyone who has stayed in a Premier Inn a good idea as to what to expect, pretty basic accomodation, reasonable quality with no frills. Food is adequate.

Pros:

Perfect location right next to a beautiful beach. Adults only pool in mid September was not that busy.

Rooms were refurbished in May this year but already many scratches, doors not closing properly - it’s clear it was not the most high quality refurbishment. However sound proofing was great.

We had Breakfast in our room rate which honestly was not great, and quite shocking in the number of options

We enjoyed our stay as the hotel is extremely well located, but there are some gaps. I imagine in peak season the hotel is extremely busy.

Pros:

After visiting a the hotel post renovation, everything looks beautiful, but unpractical, the pool shrank significantly and its impossible to enjoy without bumping into a child/adult.
For babies/toddlers will be perfect, but not for 4+ as the big pool is now very small for the volume of guests.
The new pool restaurant was ok but expensive.
The kids show looked very improvised and repetitive.
Even the DJ was distracted chatting with staff around him.
The mail restaurant needs for staff, plates were pilling on the table without someone being attentive to pick them up.
The staff that we recognised from our previous visit, really makes the effort to do as much as possible, but more staff is needed.
Half board doesn’t include drinks, be aware, expedia does not advertise this.
Luckily we got compensation after claiming this via chat.

Okay
Pros:

Saved by beach club, disappointing view from room and mediocre breakfast….rooms also unremarkable, although very clean, just didn’t feel special compared to other places we’ve stayed for similar price, staff friendly and parking very good, quiet area too was a bonus so good nights sleep. Young Toni in beach club very good. But sadly don’t think we would book again

Do. Not. Stay!
Pros:

Arrived to hotel, booked directly, suite room. Given it’s advertised as a family hotel it’s been shocking, we have been placed in the room above the stage, with a 15 month old child. With ongoing performances past 10pm, trying to get your child to sleep whilst basically being in a nightclub is completely inappropriate and unethical. Do not stay here. Approached 2 staff at reception, said they couldn’t do anything, and couldn’t confirm when we would be able to move rooms. Paid so much to be here, to relax, and it’s been a waste of money! Go elsewhere if you want to be guaranteed a quiet space to put your child down to sleep!

Poor customer Service
Pros:

I don't usually write reviews but I felt the customer service was really poor on this occasion. We stayed in August 2025 for a week. Had a great week the views from the pool area to the beach are beautiful. Pool area/bar is fabulous.

On our last night after hearing some scraping earlier in the day we seen a RAT tail come through the air vent over the kitchen area. They checked the vent but said it was no longer there that it had moved down the vent.... (so to another room?)

I asked to make a formal compliant as I felt the situation wasn't handled serious enough. They said to return in the morning at 8am the supervisor would be there.
We had our 7 month old with us who had just gone to bed so we didn't want to disturb him as we were travelling home the next day. We threw all food out that was in the kitchen and held tight for the morning.

Went to reception in the morning. Was told supervisor would not be in until 9am. Asked if we could have breakfast covered for us as we threw food out. They said no we had to wait until 9am. So we were supposed to wait to feed our baby? I thought this was ridiculous and the staff member I was dealing with was quite rude. We just checked out I was disgusted at that stage.

Never contacted since. Its an expensive place to stay. For that it should have appropriate pest control/ customer service.
Ants are also an issue and couches could do we a good deep clean/steam
