This is our second time visiting this hotel.
Everything was perfect; starting from the rooms, it got cleaned everyday. There was a big variety of food for breakfast and dinner, always something to eat. The location is also great, the view is amazing from the rooms.
The best thing was the animation team!
Faté does great yoga in the morning and is very friendly and makes sure everyone feels comfortable!! Special shout out to Adnane, Ali, Nacer and Kamel: they are all so good at their job and so hardworking. They have a different show on every day and night to keep everyone entertained.
Thanks to Almogar and the team, we will be back soon!
I have stayed at this hotel 3 times and never had a problem! I read all the negative comments and think if you want 5* Spa treatment then stay somewhere else! I will say that the bathrooms in each of the rooms that I have stayed in do need updating but the rest of the room is clean, tidy and spacious depending where you are located - I can only comment on the rooms that I have stayed in and these have always been around the quiet pool, we had our towels changed everyday and sheets were changed maybe every other day, I have never had any issues with staff they are the most welcoming people from the receptionists to the housekeeping staff and always have a smile and always say hello and even stop for a chat - the grounds of the hotel are spotless and very well kept - we have only stayed B&B and I have never had any complaints with the food or the variety of food on offer - the omelette stations are the best! The location of the hotel is great and there are always taxis outside the hotel to take you where you want to go and the beach is a stones throw out the back of the hotel which does have a roped off part for hotel guests - there are plenty of restaurants to choose from some better than others and if you walk further up the prom you will find four more - the marine is lovely for a coffee and again plenty of restaurants and cafes - for 7 nights and the price that you pay I think this hotel is great value for money! Noise level is OK I have never been kept awake from anything that maybe going on in the hotel mainly other guest not being as respectful! Overall I will be going back to this hotel
for what i paid, i knew i wasnt going to get luxury or even great!, so please, folks do youre research, the hotel itself is perfectly fine, the grounds are well kept, and its very spacious, my room was spacious and clean, beds and pillows, very comfortable, great air con! where it lets itself down is the bathroom, shower curtain needs replacing, towels are grey, noticed a few pics of dirty taps... they are infact eroded, i tried to clean mines, you cant.. as a british person, the breakfast could have been a little better but there are plenty fresh rolls and pastries, and 2 omelette stations, scrambled eggs, yoghurt, fresh fruit, salad items, coffee and juice etc. i didnt go hungry! dont know about evening meals. 2 pools, 1 quiet, 1 with animation, the usual stuff. snack bar at main pool, didnt use, so cant comment, fast food cafe, not bad, also a lounge bar at night, always looked very dark, so didnt bother trying, large bar, didnt use either, if you want a dirt cheap week in the sun, this will suffice, the price i paid was on agoda, flights booked seperately, the location is what i loved, 5 mins or so to cable cars, and the marina, and right on the beach, close to many restaurants, all in all, i had a good holiday, and would return
We stayed for 1 week. On arrival we payed the 231MAD city tax in cash which is not a problem.
When we checked out we were told that we haven’t paid the city tax, we asked them to check cctv as we knew we definitely paid. We had to pay again!
Make sure you get a receipt!!
Room was poor not worth 4 start, very dirty, broken toilet seat.
Very limited food.
Great stay overall, fantastic breakfast, very close to the beach, the only bad point for me was that the shower wasn't always hot.
Great hotel maids were always keeping this hotel clean
We had a double room near the quieter of the two pools, room was basic, clean and tidy. Plenty of sockets, a/c, two single beds a corner sofa, stool and vanity mirror, only one coat hanger between the two of us, small fridge and TV with English channels, hair dryer, large shower room/toilet. Staff not friendly, I think it's a Moroccan thing . We only went to the quiet pool which was perfect. Set in very well kept gardens. Don't listen to poor reviews, if your'er not happy with your room ask for another. All in all we was very pleased with our stay.
Avoid this place at all costs.
Do not let the touched up pictures fool you - this place is awful.
The rooms are poorly maintained and the toilets smell disgusting, the smell of which pervades through the whole room if you leave the door open.
(See picture) the door isn't even sealed and bugs and air make theyre way into the room.
I didn't even take a picture of their disgusting and poorly maintained toilet, because i didn't want that garbage in my phone's gallery.
We got a room with 3 beds and on days 1 and 2 of our stay they left only 2 towels in our rooms post-clean. On day 3 they cleaned the room and left ZERO towels. we had to make 2 calls and make 2 visits to reception, and wait 6 hours to get our third towel.
God forbid you ask them for extra towels in case you want to have 2 showers in a single day - the housekeeping staff will look at you like you asked for a kidney and will rudely refuse. The housekeeping staff are rude and unhelpful, the reception staff are ineffective at getting anything done.
I tried to ask for a mat for the shower so my disabled cousin doesn't slip in the shower, and they refused to even try to be helpful.
wifi in the place is patchy and unreliable, the breakfast selection is limited
As soon as we arrived, we were greeted by a rather rude receptionist whose inattentive and flippant behaviour left us feeling unwelcome. My friend even suggested we go elsewhere, but we decided to stay.
The rooms were dated and in need of refurbishment, though they were adequate for our stay. On the positive side, the pool was excellent, with a fantastic animation team creating a lively and enjoyable atmosphere. The hotel grounds were well maintained, and the direct access to the beach was a real highlight.
Overall, the biggest disappointment was the check-in experience.
Don’t read all negative comments, the place isn’t all bad! Stayed here 4 nights with my partner, very helpful and friendly staff. Paid £12 tourist/city tax. Room 1225 ground floor with a terrace and pretty view of the garden. Room was made up of 2 single beds, which we weren’t at all bothered by, mini fridge, tv, decent bathroom, Hotel has 2 pools, we stayed the calm/quiet side as said by the porter. Other pool is where they have all the entertainment and was busy every day. Entertainment guy Adnan who was very friendly, great guy! Also the pool guy (at the quiet pool) great lad, very helpful with seeing to people who couldn’t find a sun lounger and putting umbrella up. We had breakfast and dinner, never experienced a Moroccan breakfast before so didn’t know what to expect, we mainly stuck with fruit and the Moroccan crepes. There was a lot of variety at dinner, grilled chicken, rice, chips, salad, we ate in the restaurant twice and our last night we ate out. Fast food restaurant on site we ate twice in, reasonably priced, tasty food! One morning We grabbed drinks and left them at the table to go get food, when we returned they were gone. Drinks don’t come with dinner in the evenings so these would need to be purchased. There is security on the entrance and occasionally walking around the grounds. Beautiful garden to walk around, the complex is big. Luggage storage is available free of charge. Upon reading previous reviews people mentioned WiFi only be available in reception area, it’s in fact available across the complex. Overall we had a pleasant stay and would go back to Agadir in the future.
My experience at Al Moggar was excellent. I have stayed there many times in the past too. Everytime I go to Agadir I book this place. The staff are very welcoming and on point with the items we need as guests. The cleaning staff are so kind and very attentive particularly Sara Crimo. She's is so nice and polite and actually goes out of her way to help. It was my birthday while I was there, I went out on an excursion when I came back, all the bedroom and bathroom was clean with Swan towels made up and flower petals displayed everywhere. So kind bless her.
Great hotel on the beach
I would like to start with that the facilities were amazing and the hotel staff were very nice as well as the hotel itself in general. However one incident which occurred affected the whole trip here is the story. Me and my fiance love dogs and my fiance runs a dog sanctuary in Egypt for strays. One of the days on our trip on an extremely hot day there was no shade in sight and no water for the dogs in the street who were ear clipped (vaccinated) and neutered so no aggression. Me and my fiance decided to go the beach and they followed us panting and just collapsed next to us out of heat exhaustion. My fiance from her experience with strays in heat decided to go get them water as they were laying in the shade next to our sunbed. At this point the lifeguard did not say anything about the dogs sitting there didn't bother them and left them to sit in the shade. Me and my fiance got really hot which shows how bad the heat was and decided to run to the ocean to cool down, running because of how hot the sand was. The minute we got up and went the lifeguard got a stick and chased the dogs away who ran to us and just fell on the sand as it was just too hot to move. We then took them back to the sunbeds put them in the shade and gave them water. 15 minutes later the lifeguard returns and starts shouting at us saying that there are not dogs allowed, he did not mention this prior, whilst the dogs were there we said you didnt say that before and they are sleeping no children in sight and they are not harming or annoying anyone the minute they do we will move them on. The lifeguard decided to start insulting me and my fiance saying "do we have no brains are we stupid" and went and got the stick and smacked right behind my fiance's sunbead where her head was the scare away the dogs.n I then stood up in disbelief that something so awful had been done and started saying that he should not have done that, at which point he firmly gripped his stick and walked right up to me saying do we have a problem if so go to reception about it whilst trying to intimidate me. We then left to go and tell reception what had happened both in English and in arabic as my fiance is fluent in it to make sure they understood, they said they would call us after they told the manager and no such call happened and never said anything more about it. Me and my fiance were absolutely horrified by the behaviour displayed by the lifeguard through his attitude, his actions and the treatment to us and to a helpless animal. We were very disappointed by this incident as the hotel really is amazing and we really did enjoy our stay and would stay again however the disrespectful incident has to be mentioned.
This is not the first time that I have stayed at this hotel and it has improved enormously. The rooms have had a make over and now have air conditioning and a fridge. Bedding is comfortable and the bathroom was fine. There are two different pool areas at either end of the holiday complex. Each with a different feel. The buffet breakfast and dinner were great with lots of choice. I would rate this hotel as in between the top end hotels and the budget hotels in the area. Definitely worth the money and recommended
Absolutely shocking service from reception, they do not care about their guests at all, when I wanted to check in I was told "one minute" however waited more than 15 mins, even though there was no other customers. once I have checked in I asked them where my room is, "go straight" there was no straight! you would think at least they will show you or direct you to the room properly. I had to look for the room for more than 20 mins carrying my luggage and bag. when I finally found my room asking people who are staying there, there was mud and sand all over my shower, paint were coming off the wall, just looked messy. no kettle, tea, sugar or anything at all. they called them selves 4* hotel, you will get more for your money if you stay in a budget room. I contacted last minute.com, they told me to go to the reception as I should be getting basic stuffs such as kettle. I even offered to pay if I can get a iron and kettle they said no.
however they did change the room, little bit better than the last one but no appliances or accessories.
during breakfast you can have water, tea/coffee with your breakfast. BUT during dinner they wont even allow you to drink water, you have to buy your own water/drink. I have never seen a BAD SERVICE from a hotel like that, I got to two different countries every year by far this experience was the worst. good thing is beach is very close, and the cleaning staff/ cooks are very friendly.
The hotel is atmosphere is standard. The facilities are close by. Staffs here are welcoming. The view is beautiful but you have to ask for a sea view room. Loved Agadir! Would recommend this place and hotel
The concierge took our luggage & us to the room. Upon entering the room we found out it hadn't even been clean after the last check out. The bed sheets were filthy along with the pillows. The shower head was hanging on the wall with the holder broken, TV had few Arabic & French channels nothing else. Wifi wasn't working in the room. So after one day there we asked for another room. This room once we shifted into it we found out AC wasn't working, there were no visible sockets for our phone chargers, and only one socket was there behind the bed drawer. The AC was repaired by gassing it and it worked OK for about a day & then same problem. Everyday the engineer came gased it up & there you go. And everytime to call an engineer out had to call several times to the reception & a few hours waiting on each occasion. No wifi in the room, fridge had to be repaired as no cold water was available. Never coming to this place again. Everyone beaware of this 0 star place. Breakfast is average...Staff are good..
Arrived in Evening, check in was quick however the room I was allocated was awful. Small with no balcony or terrace just really basic. One plug socket under table that was loose.
Reception said to return in morning to change room.
To be fair they changed room no quibble and was given much better room with terrace so pleased with that. So it’s always worth asking to change.
Breakfast was awful. I’m not a picky eater but really could not find anything I would eat.
I had some toast a couple of mornings but that was it .
Pool areas are ok, one is really noisy with music and games if you like that.
Well kept gardens and everywhere looked clean.
Quite a large complex and great location .
Nice hotel friendly staff apart from a lady on reception, everyone else was superb. Breakfast was sparse but if you like omelette and pancakes you'll be fine. Pool /animation staff were great always encouraging people to be involved, pool wasn't freezing, was clean and well kept ..pool cafe food was OK.rooms were cleaned everyday cleaning staff were cheery and friendly and never touch anything left on view....out the back of the pool there's a door that leads to the beach. We will book this hotel again and recommend it to anyone looking to stay in agadir.
I would not recommend this hotel, it is nothing like in the pictures. We had booked a double room with sea view and got a twin room with a a bathroom that just shocked us: mould, stains, limescale, a really old door. The bedding wasn’t once changed in 7 days. The food isn’t various and to not give free water is just ridiculous. However, I admit the garden is really beautiful, but it is not enough to justify this price. The rooms really need an upgrade, otherwise it will be helpful to post pictures with the reality so visitors know where they are going and if they’ll accept that. Very disappointed!
