Hotel Jehan de Beauce

Worst hotel in Chartres.
It stinks, there is a dark and unbelievably bad indoor climate. Biggest theft that they call themselves a 4 star hotel. The "Fitness" room was a small room with a treadmill that didn't work and an bike that was so joint-locked that it was irresponsible to use. Rude employees and absolutely no service-minded intentions at all. Never again - rather sleep in the car than book this so-called "hotel".

Location opposite station fantastic. Easy to get back too when exploring - everybody knows where train station is!

Stayed one night in November. Comfortable room, good breakfast. Parking wax nearby in a private parking garage, with typically tight spaces. Very welcoming, and helpful front desk. Vibrant shopping and restaurant area near the magnificent cathedral.

Exceptional location...right across the street from train station and 5 or 6 blocks from the cathedral! Service could have been better. Usually no one at the front desk or they were distracted by other duties.

It’s in front the train station but not in front of the Cathedral. Ideal to minimize carrying suitcase.

I have stayed in many hotels in my life and this ranks as among the very worst. The manager was very rude and dismissive and kept saying my room was non refundable but given that it was so unsuitable and unpleasant I believe she had a duty of care to offer a refund as we were so unhappy with the cleanliness and smell. The shower was too dirty to use, and the toilet and shower smelt really bad. Twice they put very strong smelling cleaning products down but it didn't help for long. A manager has the responsibility to make sure guests are happy and well looked after. This one simply couldn't care less. So shocking, so rude! It didn't help that there was then a fire alarm at 4am with one young member of staff in the building, who really didn't know what to do, didn't take a head count and barely communicated with us. I understand that if they were full they couldn't offer decent rooms, but the fact that I was so unhappy to sleep in it means they should have used their discretion and refunded. I booked direct on the website so the hotel got more money and was told rudely that I should have just rung to book and then could have got a refund if not happy. How on earth would I know that?

Stayed one night in a cramped top-floor (read: attic) room where exposed beams further reduced the limited space. The interiors were dated and musty, the bathroom window mechanism was broken, and there was no heating in the bathroom. The bed cover had visible whitish stains that immediately brought to mind the most unsavory associations. Unfortunately, the tendency of other reviewers to be ‘nice’ makes their feedback unreliable and does not help travelers make an informed choice. Overall, this was far from the advertised ‘Wonderful’ 9-rating and fell well short of what one should expect for $200 per night with tax. While the bed itself was adequate and the shower had good pressure, this is very basic accommodation.

Lovely room, great view across to the station. Breakfast choices were excellent.
Bed was a little soft for me and the sheets needed a repair - but the staff were told and apologised. Great location to go and enjoy the city - will definitely book to stay again.

Enjoyed our stay in this hotel which is in a great location. Excellent shower, comfortable bed, safe bicycle storage and very helpful staff.

Great beds, a complet breakfast and an overall super service. They have also private parking nearby.

I chose this hotel because it offered parking. It was disappointing to find out that there wasn’t any available on arrival. Apparently this needs to be reserved, but this isn’t clear on their Expedia page. Instead the hotel recommended a car park which was double the price of their advertised cost. If you are looking for a hotel with parking, I wouldn’t choose this one!

Nice Hotel just off the centre of the old town, with a number of bars and restaurents around.
Downside the web site did not advise that we need to reserve parking spaces.

Wonderful art deco hotel close to the train station and the Cathedral. Staff were wonderful and friendly. Highly recommend!

A perfectly fine hotel in a very good location, just on the edge of the tourist area in Chartres.

Good central location with paid parking. Parking was super easy to come and go. Room was clean and staff was very nice. Breakfast was good as well. Would stay again
