Exceeded expectations - hope they keep it like this!
Pros:

I've noticed that accommodations in the US are getting worse every day in terms of building maintenance, furniture quality, cleanliness, amenities, and breakfast. My family works in the hotel industry in another country, so I know what I'm talking about. This hotel seemed to follow international standards rather than local ones, and it looked recently renovated, which pleasantly surprised me. The restaurant attached to the hotel is amazing. Great parking service (previous reviews said it was difficult/confusing: it is not!). And it has a decent fitness center with a Peloton bike.

Cons:

Housekeeping service is only available on alternate days (hey, at least they have it and do not charge extra). The heater/AC in our room was a bit too loud.

Customer Service Concern and feedback - February 2026
Pros:

I am writing to share feedback regarding a recent experience related to my planned trip to Albany for a conference on February 14, 2026.

I had intended to book a stay for February 14; however, I inadvertently made a reservation for February 10. I did not realize the mistake until I received an email stating I had been charged as a no-show for February 10. I contacted the hotel on February 11 and was advised that I needed to speak with the manager, Richard, but was told he would be out for two days and would be available Friday at 7:00 AM, which was the same day I planned to travel to Albany.

In the meantime, I made a second reservation for February 13, hoping the previously charged amount could be applied toward the new stay. However, since I was unable to speak with anyone who could guarantee this would be resolved, I felt uncomfortable keeping the reservation and ultimately cancelled it.

On February 13 at 7:00 AM, I called the hotel again and was told Richard was not yet in. Instead, I spoke with another manager, Mohammed. Unfortunately, this interaction was very disappointing. He was rude, argumentative, dismissive of my explanation, and made me feel as though he did not believe I was actually traveling to Albany. He told me we could continue the discussion when I arrived at the hotel. When I asked how long he would be working that day, he told me until 9:30 PM.

I arrived at the hotel around 5:30 PM to follow up on our conversation, only to be told that he had already left for the day. This was extremely frustrating and, frankly, unprofessional. Based on this experience, I do not feel he represents the level of service I have come to expect.

Fortunately, I was able to speak with Richard, who was kind, professional, and took the time to listen to my situation. He resolved the issue, and I truly appreciate his help. Because of his assistance, I was able to move past a very stressful situation. I ultimately stayed at the Hilton at Crossgates Mall, which was a very nice property, and I had a pleasant stay overall.

I wanted to share both the negative and positive aspects of this experience. While my interaction with Mohammed was very concerning, Richard’s professionalism and customer care were outstanding and deserve recognition.
