Location
The view was amazing and the room had comfy chairs with a little table so we could look at the sea and street, the staff really good, recommended a good fish and chips, clean room, very comfy bed, i have back pain and the mattress was very comfortable.
Nothing really, everything was good, we didn't use the restaurant or the bar downstairs so i cant really comment on that,
Room had a fantastic view. Breakfast was excellent and the lift is worth visiting the hotel for.
Not a lot of parking available, but we had no trouble getting a space.
Great staff and the best hotel lift I’ve ever been in. The breakfast was excellent.
Absolutely nothing! The worst hotel I have ever stayed in. I've never put a negative review on booking.com, or any competitor's website, as until now I've held a cynical view that those who post such reviews are not as disgruntled about something as they documenting and feel entitled in their expectations, or are just generally difficult to staff in the service industry as a matter of course.
I have written about checking out here as not enough space below...
~ No staff apparent at reception on next day checkout (10am); only 2 middle aged males having a seemingly private conversation in front of the reception desk. They ignored our arrival, and we gave them space to talk privately. On ringing the reception desk bell, it was unanswered. Once the 2 men had ended their conversation, some minutes later, one left and the other grabbed the keys I had placed on the desk. Apparently, he was the receptionist - but no identifying badge worn. He made a gruff remark about my ringing the bell, when it should have been obvious that he was busy!
Additionally, when breakfasting, we noticed staff pressuring guests who were staying for dinner (6pm sharp!) to complete the menu choice before that had finished their breakfast....
All the staff were rude, from arrival to checking out. Told on arriving before agreed time (4pm), that we were too late to obtain a parking space - these had been taken by other customers and 2 coaches. Was told we were expected at 1pm. IF we had arrived early, and been able to obtain a parking space, then my car would have been boxed in by subsequent arrivals and the 2 coaches. Given alternative to park at the hotel's staff parking space, behind the hotel car park. The hotel parking area is roughly concreted with no demarcated spaces as such. However, it turned out that the 'staff car park' was actually a demarcated staff car park for staff at the Leisure Centre at the rear of the hotel. On checking out the next day, one of the town parking wardens who was in the vicinity, very kindly decided not to issue a parking fine for us parking where we had been told to, when I explained why I was there.
We were instructed to fill out the breakfast order ASAP - twice! Firstly on arrival, then 30 minutes later on stepping out for a walk after unpacking. The breakfast, we were told was at 830am prompt - booking.com info is of breakfast being between 830 to 930am - and that 830 was the time guests were expected to attend. Quality of food was poor and a meagre amount for the charge made. Choice of 1 starter (fruit juice or bowl of cereal / porridge / 'fresh fruit'), and the usual 'full English' cooked course. On inquiry - my wife is diabetic - I was told that the fruit was tinned in syrup. Full English consisted of 1x link sausage, 1x rasher bacon, half a grilled tomato, 1x fried egg with a dessertspoon of baked beans. Toast was provided - two and a half slice of bread for the table, with no choice of white or brown bread allowed. A pot of tea for 2 was the default, and had been on the table for some unknown time before 830am opening. We asked for hot tea to be provided, and a pot of coffee - grudgingly provided.
Location. Car park . Comfortable beds. View from window. Clean. Attentive and friendly staff.
The spotlights showcasing the hotel should be turned off at midnight or thicker blackout curtains in the room.
Bed was not comfortable, need to get new pillows! And new mattresses
nice place and staff
