Fantastic overnight stay.
Pros:

Friendliness of receptionist so felt very welcome. The comfort of the room and general friendliness of the staff.

Cons:

The dinner was good, but expensive for what it was. The water price was also more than written on the menu.

Overall a very comfortable stay, in a comfortable bed, in a quiet room overlooking landscaped garden
Pros:

We ate at the Brasserie on each of our nights at this hotel. The host and the allocated waiting staff were professional and with a happy disposition and attentive. All waiting staff, although very busy with the large numbers of guests in both brasserie and other function rooms, carried it all with no show of being flustered. A gratuity was well deserved, as the brasserie did not include a service charge. *************
Fabulous landscaped gardens, with an array of flowers. The large gardens and golf course, must be a considerable funding outlay. Well done to the gardeners who tend to them.
Reception staff on arrival and all other times always ready to assist and provided places of interest. Set in beautiful countryside. Great location. Historic hotel building - one of the oldest hotel buildings in the world, which Delta Marriott own and run.

Pros:

Die Anlage ist sehr schön gelegen, das Ambiente des historischen Gebäudes hat uns sehr angesprochen. Die Kinder haben den Indoor Pool sehr geschätzt. Sie haben auch spontan noch eine Schnupper-Golfstunde mit einem Golflehrer für Kinder bekommen können - das war ganz unkompliziert zusätzlich buchbar. Für unser E- Auto standen Ladestationen zur Verfügung und das Frühstück war reichlich und auch gut. Der Einfachheit halber haben wir im hoteleigenen Restaurant zu Abend gegessen - was uns auch sehr gut gepasst hat. Das Spa-Angebot haben wir nicht in Anspruch genommen - die Auswahl an Treatments erschien jedoch umfangreich.

A lovely location for a short break
Pros:

This hotel is set in beautiful surroundings and has very friendly staff. A special thank you to Emma who went above and beyond to assist me as I have mobility issues after having brain surgery. She was so helpful and knowledgeable, her presence made the stay an even more enjoyable experience.

Enttäuschendes Zimmer (schlecht geschlafen!), etwas unterkühltes Personal, fabelhaftes Frühstück.
Pros:

Zimmer und Bett hielten nicht, was uns versprochen wurde! Das Badezimmer war sehr klein.
English Breakfast war phantastisch!

Cons:

Wir haben ein "fabelhaftes Zimmer" mit "Kingsize-Bett" gebucht. Vor Ort fanden wir ein 1.60 Bett mit leicht zu grosser Matratze auf leicht zu kleinem Gestell, so dass man während der Nacht befürchten musste, aus dem Bett zu fallen. Für 200 £ die Nacht! Keine Toilettenbürste und der Spülkastengriff löste sich bei jeder Spülung! Ferner: Als wir uns nach elf in der Bar nach einem Snack erkundigten (wir waren eben angekommen), putzte uns der Keeper mit einem "Die Küche ist seit 17 Uhr geschlossen!" herunter. Kein Chips, kein Snack, kein gar nichts. Zuguterletzt: Das Frühstück war fabelhaft. Zwanzig Minuten vor Schluss werden die Gäste über die bevorstehende Räumung des Buffets informiert. Wer denkt, er könne sich 2 Min. nach der Zeit noch einen Kaffee holen, hat sich geirrt. Zwei Minuten vor Schluss wurde mit dem Abräumen begonnen, zwei Minuten nach Schluss war alles leer! Solches erscheint angesichts des angekündigten Renommees dieses Hauses schlicht lieblos! Fazit: Dieses Hotel können wir nicht weiterempfehlen!

Disability issues!!
Pros:

Too noisy, disabled facilities atrocious. This was a wedding event totally unacceptable!

I attended a wedding on 18/7/2026, I’m disabled and in a wheelchair.

On our visit to the venue to view we found a problem with the disabled toilets,
An employee, Ian, had to help together with my husband lift myself From the seat. It was decided then, that an extra toilet seat would be in place on the day. This was put in place but totally USELESS!
Reason being the original toilet seat couldn’t be moved out of the way to house the toilet pan.
I again needed 2 people to lift me off! This was very degrading!
Obviously no-one had taken much thought into the issue,, especially as I’d mentioned it before.
YES there was an additional aid, but no thought behind it!

We left earlier than intended due to this issue, also knowing the toilet in the main building definitely doesn’t work either, Needs attention too.

I’m pointing all this out for future ‘Mobility’ clients you may have. I don’t think in my opinion you should advertise the hotel is disabled friendly at this moment in time.

The place is wonderful but what makes it outstanding is the staff working there.
Pros:

The hotel grounds are stunning. Breakfast was lovely. Nice swimming pool. Exceptional staff - people working there make the place special.Everyone is smiling, helpfull and trying their absolutely best to help you. They are wonderful.
