Great hotel in lovely grounds
Pros:

Lovely old building in gray surroundings. Rooms clean and staff very friendly and helpful. Restaurant food was amazing and service very good. Health club and beauty treatments were very good also.

Cons:

The atmosphere in the bar in the evening didn’t fit with the rest of the hotel and facilities. It was full of large male groups and was very noisy. We were surprised to see that there were 3 door security staff. Really didn’t expect this type of bar in such a lovely hotel.

edler Aufenthalt
Pros:

Over all a great hotel experience.
Pros:

The hotel and setting was great.

Cons:

Would liked to have had a hot breakfast option before 9am, although i did stay on a Thursday night with a Friday morning breakfast. Once i arrived it did say only continental breakfast before 9am.

Awesome building but needs a updating
Pros:

Rural location. Checking in with Rome was lovely & the warm cookie was a very nice touch. Pool and facilities were good. Very comfortable bed and nice room size, with table and chairs in the room. Wardrobe, safe and can of water in the room. Breakfast was excellent, all the staff were amazing throughout.

Cons:

The rooms are tired with misty windows and a view of only a brick wall, wasn't the nicest start. Not what I was expecting for £175 a night. Pool area is also on the tired side with the shower next to the steam room being very loose. Also overcrowded as you didn't need to book. When we got there, the pool, jacuzzi and steam room were full, as well as the loungers, so we were a bit lost, along with the people who walked in after us.
The door to the car park was very loud, seemed to echo though to the rooms. We were about 6 rooms away but still woke us up at 6.30am. Probably just needs a soft close on it.
Overall, wouldn't stay again until its been updated.

Cons:

I thought the rooms could have been better. The bed was clean and very comfortable but the decor looks like it could be better

Relaxing and enjoyable
Pros:

Lovely and clean. Pleasant staff. Good food. Comfortable bedroom. Spacious and tastefully decorated. Really pleasant place to stay in beautiful grounds.

Cons:

Hotel very large and rooms spread over several floors. There are many staircases and half staircases which have no lift alternatives. Difficult for older or more unsteady guests. Bit pricey, but we had a lovely stay on the whole. Weirdly, the hot tap turned the wrong way in a number of rooms, which was oddly confusing to guests.

Great location, handy for Donnington race track. Its a golfing hotel so expect lots of golfers in the bar.
Pros:

Location, beautiful grounds. Pool and sauna facilities were good.

Cons:

Room decor is a bit dated. No smart TV. Shower door leaks flooding the bathroom floor, and yes I did close it properly.
