Location was excellent; short walk to the lifts. Closests one being Marmounts 1 and AlPauris. Free parking along the street leading up to the hotel. $25/day valet parking. Call ahead. Parking Lots nearby may be full upon arrival. Nice ski lockers located downstairs along with small rental/repair shop. Breakfast included a nice spread. Dinner menu small but tasty. Look and feel of a luxury hotel.
Me and my family recently stayed at Hotel Le Pic Blanc in Alpe d’Huez, and it was, without exaggeration, one of the most poorly organised hotel stays we’ve ever stayed at.
It started badly and never improved. We had requested twin beds, yet they weren’t even made up properly on arrival, a small detail that unfortunately reflected the overall lack of care throughout our stay.
The dining experience was pure chaos. At both breakfast and dinner there was nowhere to sit. Tables weren’t cleared, no one was coordinating seating, and families were left hovering awkwardly with plates in hand. The bar offered no escape either — no seats available and nowhere comfortable to unwind in the evening. The basic leisure facilities such as the pool table was broken.
Breakfast was genuinely shocking. On multiple mornings there was barely any food left. No plates. No bowls. No cups. At one point, coffee was being served in bowls due to the complete lack of mugs. There was no fruit, no still water available, and the selection was minimal at best. It felt unprepared and completely overwhelmed.
Dinner was equally disappointing. The food was cold, and the menu consisted of the same four options every single night — something we’ve never encountered here before. The lack of variety made it feel repetitive and poorly thought through.
Housekeeping was no better. There were times with no towels provided, broken towel rails were never fixed, and despite raising issues, there was never a manager available to speak to. There was simply no sense of accountability.
Me and my family have stayed at hotel le pic blanc in previous years, and have felt that its service has gone severely downhill. I would not recommend staying here at all and especially in February half term.
Overall, the stay felt chaotic, understaffed, and far below the standard you would expect from a hotel of this level in Alpe d’Huez. We left frustrated and disappointed, and unfortunately would not return.
We have stayed at this hotel three times, the last two experiences were fabulous however our recent stay was very disappointing. It was February half term so the hotel was full but you should not fill a hotel if you do not have room for guests to eat breakfast and sit in the restaurant and bar area. The experience was quite shocking. We came down for breakfast and there was no where to sit and no tables available. The food was not replenished. They ran out of plates, cups, bread, fruit, bowls, hot food, scrambled egg, hash browns , bacon everything . Some days my grown up children had a dry pancake after waiting 10 mins for a plate because there was no food left at breakfast and it wasn’t replenished, It was beyond a joke. I went to the local supermarket and brought my own yogurt and fruit for breakfast as the fruit ran out and was not replenished. We were told the delivery had not arrived but there was fruit in the supermarket. We either couldn’t book for dinner as the restaurant was full with half board guests. One evening we managed to get a table at 8.45 pm and our food was lukewarm. We asked for twin beds for our teenage children and it was made as a double bed. We asked for separate quilts and these were delivered without covers on. I had to put the covers on the quilts myself and separate the beds myself . Towels were not replenished and bath robes were not replaced. A very disappointing stay and we will seriously consider if we will come back. There were not enough staff and no one to seat you in the restaurant , which meant 2 people were sat at a table for four and a family of four had to be separated. This was a completely different experience to the previous two times we had stayed here and was very disappointing stay.
Stayed at Pic Blanc for a week and had a great time. Hotel staff are generally helpful and friendly, particularly the hotel manager. The rooms are spacious and clean with modern amenities. Daily housekeeping was very thorough. Indoor pool is heated and had amazing views. Good range of food at the breakfast buffet. Only comment is that we would have preferred the food to be hotter/less lukewarm. Restaurant food was top quality but are served warm rather than hot. Location of the hotel is excellent, with the supermarket, shops and ski lifts just <5 min walk away
A lovely stay, the staff were nice and helpful, the beds were comfortable, the food was good and our bikes could be stored in the basement. We will definitely be back!!
Pas de lit double et de douche alors que sans rien demander , nous avons recu une demande de l hotel pour savoir quelle etait nos prefereneces
Vriendelijke ontvangst, nette kamer. Goed ontbijt.
A perfect location to enjoy cycling and relaxing in the mountains. Comfortable rooms, great views and plenty of parking
Start with the good, ladies on reception were lovely, very helpful.
The room was ok, nothing special, no heating to be able to get wet biking clothes dry.
The breakfast would be rated as the worst breakfast we have had in a hotel stay, we stay in 10+ hotels a year and this was just appalling, ok after complaining we didn’t get charged for breakfast but would have preferred a breakfast that a) that actually wasn’t empty trays of nothing. b) wasn’t dried out inedible food, that resulted in going else where to find food to be able to have a day on the mountain.
This is summer, it’s not packed in summer and they still cannot manage to provide a sufficient breakfast. The manager did try to say they were replenishing, but this was not the case and happened on multiple days (photos attached for evidence)
We didn’t try the evening restaurant after such an appalling breakfast didn’t want to waste our money!!
Will not be retuning or recommending!
Très bien
Good experience.
God cykel ferie
Located close to the finish of the Alpe d’huzes!! Friendly staff at the frontdesk and cleaning! Breakfast was very good!!!
Net hotel met prachtige uitzicht op de Alpen….hier en daar een nieuw likje verf is misschien wel aan te raden
TRES BON SEJOUR
No parking, Spa only for a fee and no reservation spots available, no snacks during the day available, no water/drinks available after 10pm. Nice hotel but bad service.
Elevator had a sign saying breakfast is until 11am, but no more breakfast after 10am. No parking. Spa only for a fee and no reservation availability. No food, water or drinks after 10pm
Lovely hotel in a good location with friendly helpful staff. We were staying on a bed and breakfast tariff and the breakfast selection was very good and fresh.
Bar area a good size with comfortable seating and an open fire.
Our only criticism is the fact that you have to pay extra for the sauna/jaquzzi when you are a hotel guest. I can understand that you need to book a time/slot as it is small but €20 each per hour was very disappointing, we decided not to use it so can’t comment on the facility. The pool area looked clean with a lovely view.
