InterContinental Athenee Palace Bucharest by IHG

We booked a “King classic” room for twice two nights at InterContinental Athénée Palace, as base during our visit to the town and our trip to Transilvania. The hotel is strategically located in a spot which gives easy access by walk to the old town and many landmarks and attractions. We stayed in rooms 402 and 504, located on 4th and 5th floor, respectively. Both rooms are identically shaped, quiet, comfortable, large and tastefully furnished. The overall atmosphere in the hotel is really elegant and appropriate to the high standard of a city luxury property. The lobby with its access corridor was quite impressive, all services (including gym, pool and SPA) were flawless. Staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful, breakfast offered a large choice of dishes of both local and international tradition. All in all a great stay. While in Bucharest we had dinner at Sharkia (Strada Luterană 2-4), Beca’s Kitchen (Strada Mihai Eminescu 80) and Kané (Strada Dianei 9) three very different and very recommended experiences.

Our stay at Athenee was full of great service which transformed our 30th anniversary trip leg in Bucharest to amazing. Luisa took care of our lunch order for the train ride and hand delivered it to us at breakfast. Tina was a wonderful breakfast staff who was friendly to us and made us feel welcome. Andreea took care of us via WhatsApp making sure our needs were met. The concierge Vasili took care of our reservations before we even arrived making sure our dinners were well planned. Our appreciation for this fine hotel is very high thanks!

As someone who regularly travels for business, I appreciate hotels that make it easy to be productive, and the InterContinental Bucharest does exactly that. The hotel offers a professional atmosphere, excellent service, and comfortable facilities that are ideal for both work and relaxation.

During my stay, I held several business meetings in the Executive Lounge, which provided a quiet and comfortable setting. It is an excellent space to work, meet clients, or simply catch up on emails between meetings.

The room was spacious, quiet, and very comfortable, with a great bed and everything needed for a productive stay. The front desk team was efficient and welcoming, making both check in and check out quick and hassle free.

I also had dinner at the hotel's restaurant and was very impressed by both the quality of the food and the service. Combined with an excellent breakfast, it completed a very enjoyable experience.

Whether you are visiting Bucharest for business or leisure, this hotel offers the right balance of comfort, professionalism, and quality. It remains one of my preferred places to stay whenever I am in the city.

Fantastic stay after a 14 year gap. Returned to Bucharest and the Athenee Palace. Enjoyed it more than first time, especially a superb surprise room upgrade which was really wonderful as this trip was a birthday present from my husband. Delighted to meet the wonderful Mr Vasilie who had helped me so much with my first trip. Loved sitting outside Cafe Athenee in the evening with a Romanian beer watching the world go by. I will definitely stay there next time I visit Bucharest. All the staff I encountered were so friendly and professional I wish I was still there.

My first stay at the InterContinental Bucharest was a very pleasant surprise. The service was excellent, the room was great, and the bed was extremely comfortable. The staff were amazing throughout the stay, and the front desk team was pleasant, helpful, and efficient. Breakfast was excellent as well, with a good selection and very high quality. I had a wonderful experience and will definitely return.

I have stayed at this hotel several times over the past few years, and it continues to impress me. The property is beautiful, extremely well maintained, and always feels calm despite being in the center of Bucharest. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and very well equipped, and the housekeeping team keeps them spotless every day. The spa is one of the best hotel spas in the city and is always a great way to relax after a busy day. Breakfast is excellent, with a wide selection of fresh food that changes enough to keep it interesting even during longer stays. What really stands out, however, is the quality of the service. The staff are professional, friendly, and genuinely interested in making sure guests have a great experience. Everything feels organised, efficient, and effortless. That level of consistency is not easy to find, and it is the main reason I continue choosing this hotel whenever I visit Bucharest. I have stayed in many luxury hotels around the world, and this property comfortably ranks among my favorites. I am already looking forward to my next visit.

We have stayed at this hotel numerous times. The food and service is excellent. We appreciate the Club Lounge staff very much. Catalina, Florin and Claudia make every stay a wonderful experience.
