Remarkably adequate
Pros:

Excellent location and the staff were very nice (with the exception of one waitress in the dining room).

Cons:

The room was not particularly clean; the sheets and towels were of very poor quality. The sheets felt like sandpaper. The mattress was hard and lumpy. Overall, the place is pretty shabby. It definitely needs a refresh. There is an aura of faded elegance, and you can imagine what the place was in its prime. All and all a bit sad.

Beautiful hotel
Pros:

Hotel was a stunning building. We arrived at 8pm, the hotel was not serving food but provided a list of restaurants which was appreciated. We did not have breakfast in the hotel as we only had a few hours in Staunton and used a morning stroll through the town to have breakfast. Carpark was below the hotel with easy access to lift for luggage.

A nice stay that didn’t blow me away.
Pros:

Great location, I was given a nice corner room and enjoyed the view, free or cheap parking in the attached garage

Cons:

Property design was nice but dated and in need of some repair. Had stained and ripped wallpaper in my room. No water dispenser unless you were a conference guest.

Hotel 24 South you need new curtains!
Pros:

We love coming to Staunton throughout the year for performances at the Shakespeare Theater next door and the annual Staunton Music Festival. Hotel 24 South is convenient,staff are friendly,walk to everything. My only ding,and I've said this for years now to management,the drapes and shears need to be replaced. Everything else,perfection. C'mon Hotel 24,Historic Hotel of America,you can do better.
