Hotel 24 South you need new curtains!
Pros:

We love coming to Staunton throughout the year for performances at the Shakespeare Theater next door and the annual Staunton Music Festival. Hotel 24 South is convenient,staff are friendly,walk to everything. My only ding,and I've said this for years now to management,the drapes and shears need to be replaced. Everything else,perfection. C'mon Hotel 24,Historic Hotel of America,you can do better.

Pros:

Pros: excellent location to walk all of downtown; some nice historic touches to the building; quiet.
Cons: no service or amenities; sterile rooms; pay parking in a small town full of free parking; unprofessional staff.

It certainly wasn’t charming or friendly, but due to the location I’d probably stay here again.

Clean comfortable, convenient with nice staff
Pros:

Lovely old hotel that is welcoming and clean. right next to theater to which we were going. bed very comfortable and air conditioning great. staff nice. breakfast buffet a good deal for $15. will stay here again on our next visit.

Cons:

Breakfast included in rate?? Fresh eggs at breakfast (fried or boiled). Very minor issues. Overall great.

Get fitted sheets
Pros:

Nice place, well appointed lobby. Great food. However they need to use fitted sheets instead of using a flat sheet as the bottom sheet. You don’t get a good night’s sleep when you worry about the sheet coming off.

Meh hotel in a great location.
Pros:

GREAT location! This hotel is right next door to the Shakespeare theater and just around the corner from the main shopping and restaurant street. Also, you can park in a parking lot that is basically in between the hotel and the Shakespeare Center and there’s an elevator that goes right up to the lobby.

Cons:

I was surprised that it wasn’t better decorated as it’s a big old place. Even more pots of (real) plants would make a difference. It seemed that they were milking the place

Apparently we were on the dog floor. The minute we stepped off the elevator to our room it smelled like animals and there was a dog barking the majority of the night.
