Rooms were comfy and clean
The breakfast was poor. The coffee was well below par! Having the hot food served to you rather than a buffet style meaning the portion size was decided for you.
Plates at breakfast were not cleared away if you went back for more food.
Very friendly staff
The rooms were a little tired, wasn’t able to shower as the water was boiling hot stayed 2 nights wasn’t able to shower in the room had to walk to the health club for a shower.
The location
It was dirty and desperately needs a refurb
The location was nice, bar staff were nice
I booked a twin room, arrived to a double, I asked for it to be changed to a twin 3 times before it was changed, it was during the heatwave and there was no aircon or fans and was told to go into town to buy a fan, the shower was scolding hot and the temperature control didn’t work, the safe was broken, the bathroom door lock came off in my hand, the mattress was old and very uncomfortable, we booked a meal in the restaurant for 17 people and the staff were incredibly rude, we were told that they had another table of 100 people and had to hurry up or we wouldn’t get our food, it had been 15 minutes and we hadn’t actually spoken to anyone yet! we had pre booked our food so not sure what their issue was, we were there for 3 hours in total for the meal, and were not asked a single time if anyone would like a drink at all, we had to go to the bar ourselves to get drinks, the food was ok but quality and portions were poor considering the price. The breakfast was nice however for £24 I don’t want to be huffed at for asked for two sausages. The room cost £183 per night and we spent nearly £600 in the restaurant just on food, frankly I was disgusted at the facilities and rudeness of the staff.
No cold water so was unable to shower. Given the hot weather and being in a golf competition this was very inconvenient
The fridge in the room did not work either, again an inconvenience given the weather
Not being able to shower or use the fridge
Room overlooking the 1st Tee was nice.
No cold water in taps, this was sorted. Asked for ice to the room none arrived. TV had a large shadow on the screen, reported it but was not fixed or replaced. Hotel was a bit rundown and needs to be redecorated. Bar area cold and not laid out properly, seats pushed along wall and felt like a continuous corridor.
Went to check out and was told that they had undercharged me 6pence when checking in, was it all right for them to take another debit on my CC. This they did, would have cost them more in charges. Will not be back. Booked this hotel as my daughter had her wedding reception in a McDonald’s hotel in Scotland.
More
The room was nice, clean. The staff were amazing throughout.
No AC in the rooms, room was not cleaned each day. Breakfast was quite slow and a bit clunky in operation.
Location, size of room and bed, outlook from room.
No ac or fan in room, all seemed a little tired in terms of room. Ready for a refurb.
The location is lovely.
No air con, the hottest building I have ever tried to sleep in. The night porter did kindly find me a fan from the kitchen which helped slightly.
The bathroom was not clean, this was raised with reception.
A little dated
Location
Lack of aircon or fans
Spa . Bed . Bedroom
Fridge warm . We needed it !
Had a pool and spa facilities, but overcharged for what they are
Bathroom was filthy, had to clean it before using it. The cleaners were so loud early in the morning on the corridor.
Breakfast didn’t meet expectations, considering the setting for quality.
Lack of personal service at breakfast.
