This place is definitely better as a ski resort. If you are planning to access Grand Tetons this drive might be a little far for you.
Rating the room I purchased on Expedia. It was a barn. No A/C and resembled a WW2 barracks. It was unsafe, disgusting and hot. Told staff I couldn’t stay there, and after noting they had a modern building with A/C said in needed a room there. If the couldn’t accommodate I was leaving. Fortunately they had had a room there (for an extra $40/night). This room was fine, but a definite bait & switch a the room I paid for on Expedia did NOT note “no A/C”. AC is an expectation and if not available must be noted. It was NOT noted on Expedia write up.
We had a very good stay; the staff was helpful and friendly and the property is in very good condition. It's a very charming and interesting little ski resort, unique and well-designed, a very nice place for a summer visit.
pleasent stay in a nice resort out of ski season
This was very far from our Teton destination but because of booking late we had few options. We arrived by 8pm and was met by an unkind and snooty lady behind the desk. There were no elevators and very old and outdated rooms. Floors creaked, showers creaked, bugs and old carpet filled the room. We had loud people who slammed doors and stayed up drinking until 3am the first night. I know it's the National Park thing to do - to have old outdated hotels with broken down everything but this place is in desperate need of rehabbing!
Wonderful stay. We will be back. Stayed just one night on our honeymoon before heading to the parks. Scenery is stunning and every employee was kind and helpful. My suggestions would be real glasses/coffee cups in the rooms instead of plastic and paper and while the pillows were great the matress was super firm. Not a deal breaker by any means though and if you can stay here I recommend it.
We enjoyed our 3 days there but thought the prices on everything from room to food service were extremely high. I’d look for something more affordable next time.
We stayed here for 4 nights while visiting Grand Tetons. We actually loved it here because it was so much less crowded than on the other side of the pass near Jackson Hole. You had practically everything you needed in the resort - shops and restaurants. And the view from the top of the ski life was SPECTACULAR! Only negative was that the lodge we stayed in, Targhee Lodge was pretty noisy at night. We were on the bottom floor but whoever was staying above us sounded like a pack of wild animals stomping around. I can only guess it was small over-active children.
Staff were amazing, not much to do off season which puts you at a minimum 20 min drive to anything off property. Hot tub - lukewarm
The whole resort was everything you need. There is a lift that takes you up ( and your bikes) 2000 ft to the top of the mountain where you can see a magnificent view!
The bathroom fan did not work and neither did the plugs in the bathroom.
The beds were comfortable. Was nice to have the fridge but would have liked a microwave too.
Had dinner and it was the best.
Because of mobility issues a first floor would have been nice.
Next door neighbor talking until 2am, very loud
The room was clean but we did not get housekeeping service after the first night, though they said we would have it. The resort itself is nice but, being the first week of September, there were not many people so the restaurant choices was quite limited. The view was beautiful and it quiet. We saw bear, fox and deer in the area.
Parking lot was not lit up at night. Unfinished areas where we had to walk.
The property is meant more for mountain biking and snow things.
It was very quiet and dark at night!
Staff was okay didn't talk much, their is NO AC HERE! Also the really I am disappointed because I was gone all day and the cleaning crew left my door open. Who knows how long it was open but felt very uncomfortable the rest of the trip.
Rooms need to be updated. Only bed and tv were new. Bathroom, dresser, and small desk were old. Steps going to Trap Bar are slippery when wet
It was a neat place.
Property is very dated. Our room was dirty. Had dirty towel still in bathroom along with someone else’s dirty socks. Just overall bad. We checked out the next day and found a new place to stay.
It was a nice location but not much to do unless you hike and bike. Housekeeping needs additional training. Twice we needed bath soap, do not disturb door signs are missing. Poor lighting only one outlet to charge phone or use to dry hair in room. Hall light flickered all night, walls paper thin.
We booked through Expedia When we arrived we were out in a horrid room Dirty, looked at a brick wall, marked up furniture, stained floor I asked for a different room We were then charged 40.00 extra per night to get a room that was renovated What a missed opportunity for the resort There was hardly anyone there Definitely not booked due to out of the way location They should have given all their guests a more favorable room until they were full at the original rate It would have left a much better impression than the horrid room they put us in because " it was a cheaper Expedia rate" we had booked I'll never return even thought the more expensive rate was a nice room
