Good location, price point, comfort and parking
The hotel feels a little short on staff, always a queue to check in, a wait at the bar for someone to appear. Some areas are a little run down, like the leisure lockers, the lifts, the lack of door/wall soundproofing and the ugly views of rusty metal from the windows on floors 2 and 3. The sauna has been broken for months. One more suggestion: Having a table at breakfast sited right in front of the tea and coffee machine makes it awkward and obtrusive to queue for drinks. The two hot drinks machines are very slow and we were almost on top of the closest diners.
My room was on the third foor. The room was good, clean (even though the carpet had some stains on it, vut it was fair). Hot water was there all the time with good pressure. The stuff was very helpful during the check in as well.
First of all, why do I have to pay for the parking if I’m a guest already, this is completely annoying!!!
Second, the carpet had many stains on it and I didn’t trust to walk on it without sandals.
Third, the bath tub sewer was partially blocked and the water will gather after few minutes and flood the bathroom. I had to stop showing every time to allow tge water to drain!!!
All of it
Nothing
I stayed at the Mercure Nottingham Sherwood and unfortunately had a disappointing experience overall. My room was on the third floor, and throughout the entire night there was a constant noise that sounded like a washing machine or tumble dryer running non-stop. It made it very difficult to sleep and significantly impacted the stay.
We also used the leisure facilities, which were quite underwhelming. The sauna was out of order for the duration of our visit, which was frustrating. The changing rooms felt very outdated and unclean, with lockers that were either broken or had no locks at all. The showers were in particularly poor condition, with visible mould and grime. Showered back in the hotel room.
The steam room and pool themselves were acceptable, but the overall cleanliness and maintenance of the facilities were far below what I would expect from a four-star hotel. Sadly, the experience did not meet expectations and would make me hesitant to return.
Location was just right. Breakfastwas very good.
the only negative is the charge for parking even though you are resident.
Rooms was comfortable very clean nice staff. The breakfast thiou was bit cold bacon cold and eggs , i stopped numerous times, the later you go down.

Everything was fine
Great location

Nothing
The overall atmosphere was chill and relaxing, everything was tidy and smelled nice. Bedding and bathroom was clean, hotel common areas are cosy. Swimming pool was warm and not overcrowded. Lifeguard in gym/pool are was very involved and actually looked after people visiting.
Even though we had overall good stay, few things disappointed us. The design of the hotel was very stylish, but it seems like since it was built, no one ever done any touch ups, as there are a lot chipped paint everywhere, stained furniture, stained carpets, scratches on the walls and furniture, fingerprints on glossy surfaces, not all lights are working, lift doors are extremely slow, room and bathroom doors are squeaky. If it was one or two of the above things - it would be unnoticeable, but because almost everywhere you would look you could see either chip, crack or stain - it's hard not to see it. In our room we had a huge crack in our sink and every time we would turn on water in a sink, it would rise from shower drain. In the shower there was only tropical shower head and no detachable one, which is needed a lot to wash properly after swimming pool. Also there was no toilet brush - which is absolute essential in any bathroom! In the swimming pool we were given one towel to share between two of us. Before we booked out stay, my partner called to ask if all spa facilities are working and we've been told - yes, but sauna was out of order - which is shame, because we were looking for hotel with sauna. Hotel seem to be understaffed as there was always a queue in reception, during breakfast buffet wasn't topped up on time and tables were dirty after guests left, so people were waiting or cleaning them themselves to sit down and eat. All cutlery was different, plates cracked - it's a small thing, but has a negative effect on impression. And one thing that completely destroyed my appetite was a piece of soil in mushrooms, which means that they haven't been washed - which is absolutely unacceptable.
