Customer service is nothing more than a rumour.

So my first surprise on landing on La Reunion was the absence of taxis at the airport. None. Customer service desk suggested one would arrive soon. Non!

I contact the hotel and 15 mins later I get a phone number for a taxi company. No international dial code provided.

My room was filthy. Long dark hairs in the shower and sink. I take some photos and showed reception. They cleaned the room - thanks but it’s a bit late. Saturday night I order a bottle of Vin Rouge. We are, after all, effectively in France. They don’t have any, ok I’ll have white. I get… sparkling. I don’t complain. Sunday the whole town is closed after 12. I pop to the bar. Ghost town. Reception tell me the bar lady is off sick. You’d think maybe they could inform the guests?! Non.

So upon learning there is now nowhere open to eat I decide to have the meats and cheese in my fridge. Nope, the fridge has a thermostat problem and my food is frozen. I return to reception and enquire about a taxi to a grocery store about 3 miles away. I’m informed that taxis are as rare as hens teeth and would likely cost in excess of 50 euros. Eventually the man says he’ll see if he can find a bottle of wine. Hey presto he found the red wine they didn’t have the previous day in what looked like a cleaning cabinet.

Despite advertising free high speed WiFi. I had problems all week (I have the internet speed test to prove it) culminating in my last day where it was down. The whole day. Given my earlier experiences I didn’t bother to complain because, what would be the point?

Then the fire alarm goes off. 5 minutes of ringing and no staff in sight. Inept bar lady stood chatting to a customer. It stops then it starts again. Still no staff. After the 3rd encore I went to reception and was met with a blank stare. Eventually I am told the fire alarm is faulty “don’t worry” well yes, now I am worried what if there’s a real fire and the alarm doesn’t work?

Malgré le besoin d’une rénovation, nous avons passé un agréable séjour
Pros:

L’emplacement, le calme, la gentillesse du personnel, très belle piscine bien entretenue

Cons:

Le manque de lumière dans la chambre et salle de bain, mérite une rénovation et tout serait parfait.

Piscine en maintenance donc petit imprévu lors de notre séjour. Problème de livraison du boulanger et petit dej sans pain….

Revoir vos critiere pour attribuer des chambre ! Je vien pas uniquement pour baizé a l’hôtel
Cons:

La télé je comprend pas pq il ont pas mis encor plus haut et décaler du lit !
Payer 114€ un studio pour avoir un mini télé coller sur un mur même pas devant le lit je sais pas l’architecte comment il réfléchie , ou au pire donner au personne âgée se genre de chambre pas à un couple de 20 ans.

Bien mais ne vaut pas 3 étoiles

- Hôtel près de la plage
- Parking gratuit public a proximité
- Personnel accueillant

Cons:

On nous a prévenu que l’hôtel allait être en rénovation prochainement et effectivement il en a besoin, les murs sont fins et pas insonorisé, les équipements sont abîmés et vieillots (porte papier toilette qui ne tient plus au mur, porte abîmé par l’humidité de la salle de bain, pas de gobelet pour se brosser les dents..) Pour un 3 étoiles c’est limite.
