The staff where we had breakfast were very friendly, and the croissants were delicious.
I was disappointed about the cleaning, very dirty everywhere, the breakfast very poor, and no option to pay by cash in all the hotel: restaurant, bar…
The water was not bottled; it was clearly tap water. They would only provide it if you specifically asked for it at reception, which I found quite inconvenient.
On the penultimate day of our stay, the room was only partially cleaned. The bathroom towels were left on the floor and the bathroom bin was not emptied. I had to report this to reception, and we get clean towels.
In the evening, we could hear cracking sounds coming from the ceiling, which was a little scary😅
There were also cobwebs everywhere…

Foyer carpet was very tired and torn upstairs looked like it needed replaced décor could have been better Needs modernised.
Beautiful grounds, comfortable public rooms, old Hollywood style decor, friendly staff. Breakfast was great both mornings, good choice and freshly prepared.
Bedrooms were clean and beds comfortable but decor bit shabby, needing some upgrading as were the bathrooms.
Dinner was mediocre and quite expensive.
The gardens and driveway were stunning
Staff at check in, room was extremely tired and well over priced. Very noisy from other guests leaving extremely early in the morning. No food available from early, no room service.

Het domein van het hotel is prachtig. De medewerkers zijn heel vriendelijk. Ook het ontbijt was heel vers. De warme gerechten bij het ontbijt worden aan de tafel geserveerd. Je krijgt grote porties.
De kamer was een upgrade omdat men geen kamer met een dubbel bed kon geven. Deze kamer was erg ruim, maar verouderd. Zo zaten er scheuren in de gordijnen en een scheur in de boxspring, het tapijt was vies en niet goed gereinigd.
In de badkamer was de vloer vernieuwd, maar de badkamermeubelen niet. De natuursteen lavabo is versleten, de douche is zodanig oud dat de schimmel in hoeken en kantjes niet meer weg te poetsen is.
Het is een duur hotel, voor deze prijs en een kamer met een 'upgrade', mag er wel een haardroger en een minibar of koelkastje aanwezig zijn.
Lovely old stately home feel about the place, really beautiful ..good location too.
Nothing really, the small entry/ exit road to and from the hotel ( lovely tree lined route) can be difficult to join at the main road, however this is just the way it is, and it’s not a complaint, just something to be aware of.

Good location for airport
Room would be best described as tired and we were upgraded , there were a number of issues in the bathroom which indicated a lack of maintenance and in particular I would ask that staff pay careful attention to the mirror in the bathroom and shape etched into it. My other main gripe would be the inability of the hotel to provide any dinner option for us as guests other than 6pm or 8pm which I would suggest was due to a large coach party staying that evening , whilst it is understandable that causes issues only emailing other guests asking if they want dinner in the days before their stay asking them if they wish to eat somewhat spoiled the evening having to leave to find dinner options. Perhaps knowing that the coach party was staying guests could have been asked well before their stay asking week they arrive

General Maintaince could be improved. Trimming around the lift buttons should have been reoplaced.

This hotel has clearly seen better days and is currently operating more like a basic hostel than a 4-star property. How it maintains its 4-star rating is complete mystery to me.
The rooms lack basic amenities—there was no fridge in the room, and the bar didn't even offer any light snacks. The atmosphere is further spoiled by a massive portrait of the owner in the entrance hall, which comes across as pure self-glorification. It's my opinion.
I cannot recommend this hotel. The food is best avoided altogether.
A stark reminder that MGM Muthu is definitely not MGM Grand!
We stayed at Muthu Newton Hotel with two families and booked five rooms, which were kindly upgraded to Executive Rooms. We really enjoyed our stay. The hotel has its own unique vibe and incredible architecture—it genuinely feels like staying in a palace!
The location is a little away from Inverness, but the peaceful surroundings and beautiful historic character make up for it. Overall, a memorable stay and definitely worth experiencing.
