Room was a great size, clean and comfortable, shower was very powerful. Dinner in the evening was good. Staff were great. Highland cows outside was a bonus!
Cooked breakfast was not good.
The location is very nice and the Chaplin’s restaurant was nicely done.
Worn down and in need of refurbishment. The carpet was horribly dirty in the breakfast room, there were patches in the hallway and seams were exposed and coming apart not to mention missing lightbulbs in the hallway which is a safety issue. The hotel is dominated by bus tours which arrive every day and which get much higher priority than mere paying guests. Despite their listing as well as the information card in the room there is no laundry service available. We were advised to go to a laundromat in town. The staff appeared frightened of management and not able to make independent decisions. This hotel has been struck off my future visit list. The food in the restaurant is generally low quality. That was the toughest rib-eye I have ever encountered.
Very reasonable hotel
Good value
Enjoyed stay
Do not stay in a 'Courtyard Room'. These are very dated, furniture is old and worn. For those old enough to remember - it's very 'Crossroads Motel' - including the flimsy, old, worn doors and lack of soundproofing. There is a lot of noise - literally every 2 minutes or so - from the water heating system that sits above the rooms. Toiletries, coffee/tea stuff is all low cost/budget and certainly not a reflection of their Booking.com 4 star rating. The breakfast included budget white bread. It was all very very poor and did not reflect it's rating at all. I would like to say that the main building was better but both the bar and dining room had significant damp patches and damage to their ceilings which were just examples of the general state of the place. The accommodation and breakfast were so poor, I'm finding the other reviews very hard to believe.
The room was in poor shape and was noisy as a result of an old water heating system.
The whole estate was in serious need of maintenance and repair.
The breakfast was made from budget products including very poor processed white bread and awful filtered coffee.
It was not a 4-star and was poor to the degree that I will be taking the rating up with Booking.com as I believe it was completely misrepresented.
Quiet location, large room, great shower, nice bar and friendly staff.
The driveway needs attention.
Outside is magical, comfortable bed, very professional staff, good breakfast
Room was clearly pretty old, bathroom wasn’t super clean, and looked very old.
The size of the room, the size of the bed and the size of the bathroom. The scottish breakfast and continental breakfast was lovely. We also saw a red squirrel on the garden outside which really made us happy.
Nothing that we did not like.
Außergewöhnliches Hotel in jeder Hinsicht!
Breakfast fantastique, confort des chambres, personnel prévenant
Partie commune un peu défraîchie
Good sized room with good facilities within room plenty of hot water.
Passenger lift needs maintained.
Frühstück war sehr gut
Abendessen war eher mäßig
