I selected this hotel for a business trip after a multi-leg journey from the U.S. West Coast, with a strong focus on rest and sleep quality. I am aware that a city hotel can be challenging in this regard.
Ahead of my arrival, I informed the Director of Rooms, Mr. Katz, about my travel plans as a Hyatt Lifetime Globalist. I was initially offered a suite, but due to a delay in my travel schedule, I fully understand that internal planning may have changed and that the suite was no longer available.
What I ultimately received reflects what many reviews already mention: a modern, clean room with sufficient charging options for electronic devices. The hotel overall presents a positive, contemporary urban atmosphere, and I do appreciate the design concept.
However, like many modern hotels, the room lacks practical storage: insufficient drawer space, no proper option to hang trousers at full length, and an open closet without doors, which detracts from a sense of order. This is a common design trend and only partially the hotel’s responsibility.
The critical issue, however, is sleep quality. Even on the 10th floor, the noise level from the street, drawbridge, nearby construction, and train traffic is extremely high. Even with earplugs, restful sleep is barely possible. The external sound insulation is, frankly, inadequate for a hotel of this category. I repeatedly checked whether the balcony door was properly closed, as the noise level suggested otherwise.
While I hold a high guest status within Hyatt Hotels Corporation, I do not expect upgrades to always be available. However, assigning a room of this nature—where basic sleep is significantly compromised—should not depend on status at all. It is simply not suitable for any guest who requires a minimum level of rest. I will be staying two more nights and will have to make do with the situation.
What continues to surprise me is how a global brand like Hyatt allows for such inconsistencies in service quality. From experience, I am aware that service levels in Asia or Europe often differ from those in the U.S., but the gap here is quite significant. For a brand positioned as an Upper Upscale / Lifestyle concept—comparable within Hyatt to Andaz—this is disappointing.
On this same trip, I stayed at a Hyatt Place near Portland Airport and received a higher level of service there than at this property. For example, after my first difficult night, I requested that my laundry be collected from the room. Instead, I was asked to personally deliver it to the front desk.
I have stayed in several hotels in Fort Lauderdale, including Pier Sixty-Six, Conrad Fort Lauderdale Beach, and Four Seasons Hotel and Residences Fort Lauderdale. This property, unfortunately, stands out as the one with the weakest service experience.
I appreciate that Mr. Katz actively monitors guest feedback. My only request is that the hotel not only reads reviews, but also takes tangible steps to improve the guest experience.
Clean hotel, great staff and gym!
The bartender was very professional and gracious, it’s a little lobby bar but rest assured you get world class service!
The Hyatt Centric Las Olas Fort Lauderdale, Florida
Great location, very pleasant & helpful staff, nice breakfast choice.
William at the front desk was so helpful! He told us about the Circuit app which is basically a free Lyft service. Hotel is fantastic and is right next to a little park with a smashburger food truck. Also on the Riverwalk. We will definitely stay here again!
They out us on a room at the pool area and it had no open windows at all and in the morning, there where people talking just at the glass wall. It does not work at all. I like the location but couldn’t see anything!
A beautiful and comfortable hotel a few steps from the lively part of Las Olas.
Large room well kept and sparkling clean.
We loved the convenience of the restaurant at dinner time.
A nice walk to River nearby.
Good sleep quality, very quiet.
But we missed vending machines
We stayed at the hotel and it was great but the best part was Room901 speakeasy. It’s a hidden secret our host/server Brianna was awesome and did a great job making the experience.
We had a wonderful stay for 1 night prior to our cruise. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the hotel, our room was clean and the food was very good.
Awesome property in downtown Fort Lauderdale. Room was nice and very clean, excellent breakfast and nice pool. Very well located walking distance to restaurants and shops.
Great atmosphere, great bar tender, great drinks, great food would recommend
Brianna Walker is amazing and thank you Rm 901 for making our night special!
Room 901 was more than dinner, it was a full experience, thanks to Brianna Walker. She was so warm, inviting, and really made us feel so welcome. She provided wonderful food and drink recommendations. The intimate dinner and AMAZING drinks were a perfect highlight to our anniversary celebration. I can't wait to tell our friends about our experience. We will certainly be back and we're hoping Brianna is here to host us next time!
This was such a beautiful experience. Drinks are pristine and balanced. Staff is friendly, vicinity is polished and luxury vibes. I will be back soon! Best decision ever to come here Brianna was amazing!
Absolutely amazing! The rooms are nicely decorated, extremely clean, and one of the most comfortable beds and sheets ever. The front desk staff are all extremely pleasant. Alex at Starbucks coffee makes great coffee, and my servers at the restaurant for breakfast and lunch were excellent. The food was delicious. The pool is beautiful and the views are great. So much to see and do in walking distance. I have only positive things to say.
Absolutely amazing white glove service. Brianna was an incredible bartender. 100% recommend any and everyone.

Hyatt is always a pleasure. The staff greeted us warmly, the room was ready early, the rooftop pool was nice, the champagne vending machine was a fun touch. Comfortable bed, good air conditioning, great location a short walk from the broward performance center , shopping nd dining.
