Pros:

Nothing. I won't ever stay here. Lost any future business with myself. Go stay at the Royal River in Flandreau.

Cons:

Don't book here unless you are absolutely sure you're staying there. The manager will not give refunds at all. Buying traveling insurance doesn't help either. This place is a last resort. My advice, go somewhere else.

The parking lot is not well maintained nor is the the green space.
The interior is dirty. An amateur painted the walls. Where there have been leaks in the walls the patches are poorly done.

Pros:

The breakfast was very adequate for someone not gluten or dairy free. I enjoyed the options (waffles, cereal, fruit cups, yogurt, granola bars, coffee, etc.). But my wife could not partake.

Cons:

Beds were great, a fridge, microwave and large TV were nice amenities. There was a bit of what I would call an "old motel smell." Not objectionable, but just there. Price seemed to fit the area but was more than we expect to pay for an older facility (especially noticed all the add-ons by the local entities).

Almost walked out when we arrived but desperately needed somewhere to stay.
Pros:

The staff was friendly.

Cons:

We were on the second floor with no elevator, I am not supposed to use steps. The rooms were old and felt unclean. (everything from the carpet, to the bedding. There was a bad smell throughout the hotel as well.

Would not recommend to anyone to stay here.
Pros:

I like Madison South Dakota it’s a very nice and small town. I expected a better quality hotel.

Cons:

When I went to check in the lady at the counter was very passive in the way she spoke to me. I misread the terms and conditions where if there was one or more vehicles staying on the lot to register that person as well. She made me feel dumb for missing that but that was my mistake. I tried not to bother any longer and made that conversation as short as possible with her. I ended up picking my boyfriend and leaving the car at a friends house in Madison. The entire hotel smelled like smoke. It had an eerie feel to it that I can’t explain. The room was okay I just couldn’t get past the smoke smell. I did notice there was a pop bottle left in the fridge from the last visitor. I had little interaction with anyone after that. When I checked out the guy that was there in the morning was much nicer and more open to answering questions. Overall it wasn’t the greatest experience.

It was ok I would do it again if I had too. Only issue was the tub didn’t drain when u took shower. Also they charged my card few times had go tell them fix that a they did other than that if u really gotta go to Madison it’s worth the money no doubt about it. Room was clean. And the one lady was nice there as well from Chicago I believe. Give it a 6.2 out of ten

Don't judge a book by its cover
Pros:

Honestly this is one of those true surprises. Let me start with this, what they lack in aesthetics they make up in service. The staff is top of line, especially Gigi. She is phenomenal, very helpful, caring and hospitable. The building itself is old but they are doing everything they can to get it to where it needs to be. The room i was in was updated and folks the TV was great, especially since I wanted to watch the softball championships. Honestly it was the small things, they are doing to make this a good property. I'll definitely stay again, once they get a good breakfast they will be #1
