I have been returning to Calypso for the last 15 years.
I love the location and the amenities.

Cons:

I walked into unit 252 and it stunk of bleach and was overbearing.
I had the fans on full and the doors open even when I wasn't there as I couldn't handle the smell. I sat on the balcony when I wasn't sleeping. So this did take away from my experience. I came to disconnect from work and home in Sydney and I found it hard to relax.

Excellent accommodation and facilities at a reasonable price and a fantastic location.
Pros:

I booked Oaks Gold Coast Calypso Plaza Suites at the last minute. I was delighted when I got there. Location is literally across from the beach. It's location also in Griffith Street, is excellent, with lots of places to eat; chemists; supermarket, etc. I stayed in a one bedroom apartment which was lovely. The facilities within the room were excellent. The room was extremely clean and well appointed. The pool facilities were excellent. Beautiful setting and numerous lounges to sit and relax. Pool towels were provided by Reception. The Reception staff were excellent and were extremely helpful in assisting me to get to AACTA which was being held at HOTA on the Saturday night. The Reception staff went above and beyond in assisting me to not only get to HOTA in a safe manner but one that was very timely in comparison with public transport. I was so impressed that I have booked again to stay at Oaks Gold Coast Calypso Plaza Suites for August 2026 to attend a major Birthday celebration.

Cons:

I loved everything. However I did have problems trying to watch both TV and Foxtel. Not a major problem though.
