Very disappointed.
Pros:

Room was clean.

Cons:

It’s not a resort, it’s a building site !!
This is not mentioned when booking.
The photo is completely misleading.
Entrance to car park is far too tight for normal sized car.
I would not recommend staying here, until building work is finished.

Comfy apartment with a few resolvable issues..
Pros:

the outlook was exceptional... really
the bed and bedding are very comfortable.
the lounge and seating was perfect.
the staff were very friendly.

Cons:

1: despite being aware of building works when we booked, the signage to get to our room was poor. This could be done much better with signage or written instructions handed out when checking in. After work is completed this will presumably be resolved.
2: The design of the second bedroom meant natural lighting and fresh air was not possible. The glass door let light through.
3: The kitchen was well equipped, however the plates were too large for the dishwasher.
There was a strip light in the kitchen that could not turn off. Reception came to assist in the middle of our first night as it was disturbing our sleep. They too could not switch it off, the only solution was to turn off the power for the lights at our switchboard each night.
4: Despite our AC running the temperature was very warm, I think there is an override set by the hotel. The room was exceptionally hot on our arrival and even the following morning was still very stuffy and warm. With no insect screens we chose to sleep with the windows closed. I did not contact the reception about this, but i was to return I would make sure I understood these controls to make our stay more enjoyable.

Sadly it didn’t live up to our expectations
Pros:

Our rooms were perfect we loved having the flexibility to prepare a meal and dine in or go out.
Having a washing machine and dryer was brilliant as we are on a long trip around the South Island so it gave us a chance to catch up on laundry.

Cons:

If I’m not mistaken we were not notified about the major renovations that are currently underway and although they did not affect our stay it would have been nice to know. As access to the hotel was half way down a steep hill which needed to be navigated to access the hotel and by which to leave. Also we had paid to booked a set of rooms with a lakeside view. However, this was heavily obscured by garden shrubbery as we were allocated our rooms on the ground floor therefore it did not meet our expectations. My advice to anyone staying here would be to ensure their rooms are on floor 2 or above.

Cons:

I requested a shuttle from the airport and the staff said there was no shuttle (when there is). I asked the staff member if there is room service, or at least am i able to dine in for dinner, they said no sorry the bar is only for drinks - as i was leaving, there was a whole dining area around the side.

Would have been great if the staff gave me a tour upon arrival, to show me the facilities.

Small room with a nice outlook
Pros:

Comfortable small room with a view towards the lake (we didn’t have a full lake view, but it was still a very nice outlook)

Cons:

There was construction of the third building going on on site, and there was a bit of smell from plumbing works in the common areas. The room was quite small.

A fantastic place to stay which is currently let down by environmental issues
Pros:

The room was great (412), the view “remarkable” and the spa bath on a chilly night was awesome!

Cons:

The construction was right next to the room, so much so, drilling and hammering would make cups etc vibrate on the benchtop - luckily we were out most of the day but don’t expect to lie in of a morning. Also, there was an atrocious smell that came in waves - we reported it more than once but nothing was said so presumably they knew exactly what it was. We paid for a parking spot but nothing was designated so it was just luck if you got a spot.
