Staff were very friendly
The smell in that entire building is poor and it was not a comfortable experience. In our room there were stains on the carpet and curtains, it just wasn’t pleasant at all. Especially for a Hilton. The breakfast was also very very bad. Overcooked wet eggs, milk tasted off. Only thing that was alright was the machine hot chocolate.

Stayed here to prepare for a family wedding and had adjoining rooms. Beds were comfortable and service was good. What was odd was that the main lighting for the room came from bedside lamps and so it was darker than expected, and the bathroom decor was quite dated too and not what we expected for the Hilton brand.

The restaurant and lounge area was a nice welcoming space to work and hold meetings. Staff were friendly and helpful. The gym was very good and clean.
The bedrooms were very basic and the temperature was too hot when I first entered the room. The two single beds I had in my room were very small.

Hilton Watford should be embarrassed. I cancelled my booking within 10 minutes of making it, yet they refused to refund me. Ten minutes. No stay. No room used. No service provided. Still, they kept my money without hesitation.
This is not a policy issue — it’s a cash-grab. Any hotel with even basic integrity or customer sense would have refunded immediately. Instead, Hilton Watford chose to exploit a technicality and prioritise profit over fairness.
For a global brand that markets itself on “hospitality” and “customer care,” this behaviour is laughable. There was zero empathy, zero flexibility, and zero accountability. Just cold, robotic responses designed to justify keeping money they clearly did not earn.
If this is how Hilton Watford treats customers over a simple, instant cancellation, it tells you everything you need to know about their values. Mistakes are punished, fairness is ignored, and customers are treated like transactions, not people.
I will never stay here again and will actively warn others to avoid this hotel. Book here only if you’re happy to lose your money — even if you cancel immediately.

Bar is nicely decorated.
Cost of parking was not clear. Drinks in bar took a long time to come, and when ordering, informed a lot of things were not available.

Easy to find. Room was a good size.
Nice to get tins of water . Staff were really really nice. Maria at Reception, excellent and also Jaime & chef doing eggs, both lovely.
Superb to have electric charging nearby and parking on site.
Bathroom dated. Bedroom noisy as there were air source fans outside making noise all the time. No AC. Steps outside main entrance made it difficult to carry suitcases up to reception. No one to help. TV kept losing signal on the WiFi. Bed was soft. Pillows had seen better days. No body moisturiser in bathroom. No extractor fan in bathroom.
Everything was excellent. Staff was so good. Great Breakfast. There is a nice bar with nice collection of cocktails.
