I was extremely disappointed with my stay at Hilton. The room was unbearably hot, making it impossible to stay comfortably. I called reception several times, but no one answered. I eventually had to go downstairs to ask for assistance, only to be offered a bucket of ice instead of being moved to another room.
The heat was so severe that my fiancé almost fainted shortly after we checked in. As a result, we had no choice but to check out just 20 minutes after arriving. The lack of response from reception and the failure to provide an appropriate solution turned what should have been a relaxing stay into a very stressful experience.
I often book Hilton hotels, which made this experience even more disappointing. I expected much better from Hilton, especially when it came to handling a situation that affected guests’ health and safety.

The restaurant area was nice decor.
The bedrooms were extremely old and run down and yet the hotel charged top price. The bedroom was well below 2 star.

Great location, breakfast was ok! Plenty of parking, and the garden was perfect.
Beds, especially the sofa beds are very comfortable! breakfast was ok, despite having it at 8am the hot food had been out a while and gone stale. The rooms are in desperate need of refurbishment, dirty grout around the bath, old panels made from wood and painted around the bath! For a Hilton it's probably one of the worst ones I've stayed in.

I booked and paid for a double room on 8th April 2026 (booking reference 5804672496)
On arriving at the hotel on 13th May (5 weeks after the room was booked and paid for) I was told they could only offer a twin room as no double rooms available. I told the staff on reception this was totally unacceptable as I booked and paid for a double room 5 weeks earlier. To have no double rooms available on my arrival was shocking and unprofessional.
It was only when I made these points they offered me an available double room - I was bemused why they initially stated they could only offer a twin room when a double was available - as per my booking and payment.
Peter on reception gave great customer service and was extremely helpful
I had booked late check out till 1pm and at 9:30am roughly house keeping banged on the door and let themselves in. I then advised I was still in the room. Again at 11:45 roughly, they just let themselves in this time and did not knock, again I told them I was here until 1pm. There needs to be a better system and more respect for customers

Been staying at the Watford Hilton for two nights each week for nearly a year. There's a reason I am staying here. It is nice, welcoming, has great staff, brilliant gym (bit busy), good steaks and a knockout breakfast (and breakfast team).
