Pros:

Love the history, the staff, the location. Wonderful hotel stay.

Cons:

They only had one elevator working. Not a real big issue. But was a inconvenience at times. Especially since the elevators are small.

Liked the bathroom, especially the shower.
Enjoyed the bar in the lobby, especially the signer (Lisa) on Thursday night.

Cons:

Pillows and bed were uncomfortable - way too soft. Pillows too big.
Found a bug on the bed.

Nice historic hotel in lovely downtown.
Pros:

Friendly staff, great water pressure in shower. Comfortable beds. Good breakfast value.

Cons:

Parking should be free. We opted to park on the street for free, which is possible on weekends.

A very pleasant stay
Pros:

We were here for a wedding. Although we knew the hotel was sold out, it was very quiet. The beds were some of the best we’ve had in any hotel, and the shower was hot with good water pressure. There is a small gym, an indoor pool, and lobby bar. It is within walking distance to the center of town. We were very happy with our stay, and would stay again if in the area.

Great hotel, but room service not answering the phone over several hours is unacceptable.
Pros:

Very clean, friendly staff and the room was exquisite.

Cons:

The evening room service didn’t answer the phone (called 6 times over 3 hours) which really nearly ruined our stay. We didn’t want to have to leave to get dinner. That’s the whole reason we booked this place.

historic experience
Pros:

lovely hotel with very unique pool worth swimming in. excellent location for strolling around historic downtown Winchester; close to shops and restaurants. the live music in the lobby bar on Friday night was exceptional quality.

Cons:

there was only an end table and a light on one side of bed, meaning one of us had to put our things on the floor and couldn't read without the main room light on.

You will love staying here - just don't get room service.
Pros:

We arrived here after spending two nights at the Biltmore, so the bar was set pretty high. We were not disappointed! The room was elegant and spacious with an old-world charm but modern amenities. The bed was really comfortable and the bathroom was over the top - best shower ever!

Cons:

Room service was appalling. In an luxury hotel like this I expected a fine-dining experience delivered to the room. Instead we got something resembling DoorDash but worse. Took twice as long to arrive as we were told. When it did arrive there were no plates, no cutlery, no coffee cups for the pot of coffee we ordered. The food was packaged in the flimsiest of containers that lost their covers in transit. There were other issues as well. The sad thing is that the food was really good. Next day we ate breakfast in the restaurant and had no issues.

Great stay at the GW Inn
Pros:

We had a great stay. We were heading south and picked Winchester as a good stopping point. Winchester is a very nice colonial town and we loved our stay at the GW. Very clean room. The room was very comfortable. The staff was very attentive. We will be back!

Beds and pillows are always very comfortable.

Cons:

Checking in on line took me way longer than it would have taken to have the hotel check me in when I get there. Chairs in the rooms are not comfortable.
