This is the second time I stayed here. The rooms are lovely and big with plenty of room. We had a quiet room and weren't bothered by noise at all. Housekeeping did the rooms every day with fresh towels. I loved the pool on the rooftop.
The stained carpets in the rooms. I really think tiles would be much cleaner. Overall the rooms need painting. The awful air freshener they constantly have in the corridors is overpowering.
Straightforward good hotel.
Wasn’t fond of walking through Starbucks as best way to get to the street.
We were here for one night as a layover in Bangkok, and just wanted a clean room, good bed, nearby food options, and maybe a massage to forget all about our 13 hour flight. Except for the last part, all those expectations were met, so we really can't complain.
The staff was very friendly, and the room was exactly what we needed after a very long day of traveling.
Location-wise it's a bit out of the way, but we walked to Silom park without problems, and found some good bars and restaurants there. There's also a very good breakfast place nearby (Sarnies).
For the price, we were happy overall with the hotel, but there might be better options in Bangkok.
The only letdown was that there was no spa/wellness, and thus no option to get a massage in the hotel.
While booking.com advertises this as having a wellness/spa in the hotel, this is no longer the case. The staff informed us that they closed the spa in the hotel, and now collaborate with a spa nearby, requiring you to get picked up and dropped off using a shuttle service. If we had known this in advance, we would have likely booked somewhere else to be honest.
A good location.
The hotel is expensive for what it is. We were assigned a room in a side building, which required us to leave the hotel, cross a public side alley, and enter a different building. That's not a hotel with a pool anymore. The rooms have seen better days and are a little run down. The hotel charges 40 usd for early check-in and requires you to leave a deposit of 1000 THB, something basically unheard of since the 1990s. Overall, management and lack of investment make this an overpriced choice, which is a shame because it could be charming.
Great value, quirky decor. Nice small pool Location a bit far from some main areas. B
Breakfast not good at all.
We have stayed at the Davis a few times since it first opened on overnight stays in Bangkok. It is a good place to stay, good location and provides everything you could need at the business end of the city.
Location
Getting old needs renovating
Close to where my family live which was what we required
Everything was fine
