Quite a luxurious setup, with a two floor apartment just a stone’s throw from the city center. Great neighborhood full of fun restaurants and shops. Easy hub!
The only thing that we encountered were some heavily scented drapes and cushions that they apparently spray. We have some fragrance sensitivity in our family but the staff was accommodating of our needs!
The Inn at The Roman Forum is a stunning, peaceful sanctuary in a perfect central location for exploring Rome's top sites—beautiful rooms, quiet atmosphere, and incredible charm. But what truly sets this property apart is its people.
During our stay, our son fell ill and needed to see a local doctor. The staff handled the situation with unbelievable professionalism and grace. They had a doctor arranged and at the hotel within an hour, and throughout the day, they continually sent up food and drinks he might like without us even asking.
Their level of proactive care, empathy, and genuine kindness went far beyond standard hotel service. You can tell they deeply care about their guests as human beings, not just bookings. We cannot thank them enough for turning what could have been a stressful situation into a display of world-class hospitality. Highly recommended!
The staff was exceptionally warm and helpful. The airline had lost our luggage, but the hotel staff made all efforts to help us out and make our stay extra comfortable, including following up on our behalf with the airline.
My husband and I are enjoying a 5-night stay at The Inn st the Roman Forum, and we are having a wonderful time. This hotel truly is a hidden gem that is so different from any other hotel I’ve ever stayed at.
The location was perfect. It is on a quiet, picturesque street that just a short walk away from the Colosseum and tons of restaurants. Also, there are some small markets nearby for snacks and drinks.
The hotel itself is gorgeous. The outside looks like a postcard, and the hotel room itself is so lovely and unique.
One of our favorite parts of our time here had been the breakfast each morning. Breakfast is located on a beautiful terrace overlooking a picturesque view of Rome. The service is amazing, and the food is delicious. Our servers, Ayeth and Hero, are so kind and provide the absolute best service.
Every staff person here has been so helpful and accommodating. Many thanks to Stefano and Gordano who consistently provided kind and helpful assistance, and to Georgia who went above and beyond to help us figure out how to take the metro! She was a true angel!
We are so thankful for our time here, and we are would return in a heartbeat!
What a great way to start our stay in Italy!
The Inn at the Roman Forum exceeded our expectations :)
The front staff were all extremely welcoming, friendly and more than happy to help coordinate a taxi ride (Thank you Shukri for answering any and all of our questions)
The location is extremely convenient with just a short walk to the Trevi Fountain and Colosseum
Located on a quiet street with one of the Roman drinking fountains just outside the front door made us feel like locals
The rooftop terrace was an absolute favorite. What a treat to eat breakfast outside each morning overlooking the city. The food was delicious, fresh and staff were all amazing. A special thank you to Ayath for starting our mornings with breakfast, remembering coffee order preferences and being a cheerful presence each day
Would absolutely recommend for anyone looking for a place to stay in Rome!
I am giving this hotel 4 stars, mostly because of its good location and the generous size of the converted apartment.
I was honestly surprised to see this property rated as a 5-star hotel. While it does provide many expected amenities, such as robes and slippers, those details alone do not necessarily make a hotel feel truly five-star.
Room / Apartment ⭐⭐⭐
The apartment we stayed in had a lot of character and a wonderful amount of space, which was a major positive. However, it was also very old, especially the bathroom. The property itself is likely historic, which can be charming, but unfortunately the age also shows in the condition and upkeep of the rooms.
The mattresses and pillows did not feel luxurious or high-end, and the toiletries seemed quite basic based on both the quality and the scent. The towels also felt more like standard hotel towels rather than what I would expect from a true five-star property.
The walls were quite thin as well. We could hear birds chirping at night and noises from outside, which affected the overall comfort and sense of privacy.
Breakfast ⭐⭐⭐
Breakfast is served on the rooftop terrace, which offers a lovely view of the town.
The selection was generous, but the quality did not feel consistent with a five-star hotel. Additionally, because the kitchen is located nearby, there was a very strong smell of fried bacon throughout the terrace area. Unfortunately, we ended up smelling like fried bacon afterward, which was not ideal.
Location ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
The location is definitely the hotel's strongest feature.
We were able to walk everywhere, with several restaurants nearby and many more just a five-minute walk away. It is a very convenient base for exploring the town.
Service ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
The front desk team was very helpful and accommodating, which was appreciated.
Final Thoughts
I would recommend this hotel if your priorities are location, space, and staying in a property with historic character.
However, in my opinion, it does not quite deliver the level of luxury expected from a true five-star hotel. It feels more like a comfortable four-star property with five-star pricing.
Great boutique hotel on a quiet street away from the chaos. Beautiful room, spacious bathroom. There are ruins in the hotel that have been preserved. Very cool. Lovely rooftop for breakfast. Many different kinds of rooms
Close to Colosseum and other attractions
Location perfect. Short walk to everything and round the corner from the Collesium .
Has to cross the road and ring a bell for reception.
Très typique, très proche du forum. Personnel très sympatique.
Monti is a fantastic area to stay in while visiting Rome. We didn't realize how close we were to the Roman Forum! This hotel was easy to miss if you were looking for a hotel entrance and we arrived late because our train was delayed by 2 hours. Upon arrival the staff was so nice, offered us tiramisu, water, coffee and to explore their own Roman ruins while they checked us in (which was unexpected but very cool). We didn't sIign up for breakfast, but we were there for 3 nights and they added it on for free. The breakfast was on the top floor with made to order items and was very good. We ate on the rooftop patio each morning and it was beautiful. The bed was comfy and the room was very clean. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Rome for sightseeing! The restaurant recommendations from the hotel were also quite good.
Beautiful, boutique-like hotel within walking distance to the Colosseum, Monti district and other historical sites. Tucked away from the crowds. The staff here was amazing, helpful and friendly. Breakfast was great-offering both American and Italian choices, and they had a beautiful patio you could sit on. The rooms are both simple and elegant. We stayed in the two bedroom apartment, which would be great for a family and also a garden suite, which was beautiful and cozy. Will definitely stay here again.
Location
Slightly outdated decor
Location
The rooms were nice and tidy, with extremely comfortable pillows and bed. Staff were extremely helpful and at-tentative. The location was incredible, a few minutes walk from any of the major tourist attractions.
Unfortunately, the jacuzzi in my bathroom was not working and the shower was a bit temperamental in regards to temperature.
From the moment we stepped inside the Inn, we were welcomed by Rocky and treated to cold water and tiramisu. It was a few hours before check in but we were accommodated.
Our room was beautiful and quiet. Midday, between morning and afternoon excursions, we’d returned to our cool room, pull the room darkening shades and recharge.
The staff were all pleasant and gracious. Shikra helped in many ways.
Having the 4th floor terrace to eat breakfast at or enjoy the lights of the city at night was a special treat.
The Monti neighborhood was good for restaurants, and many ancient sites.
The Inn is a real gem, so glad we stayed there.
