Hotel was nice, it was a bit far from the Heathrow and with no shuttle, navigating getting there for us was a little frustrating but the rest of our party drove and there was plenty of parking. We found the multiple train/buses difficult with luggage so ended up just taking an Uber. This hotel is a great location for Ascot and is a nice, quiet hotel with good facilities. If you wanted to spend time at the hotel and/or had a car, this is a great choice.
Bit far from public transport into London (including airport) and acknowledging the hotel was old, it was quite modernised however some rooms had AC but others didn't which we found interesting, we were told the pool was closed (not sure if this is for renovation or permanent but pool was listed at booking but not available when we arrived) Overall, the "old" feeling comes with some dirt, specifially, our bathroom had dirty grout which took a minute to realise wasn't mold and there was a spaghetti stain on the curtains etc. but these did appear to be stains and not recent mess that wasn't cleaned. Our room was cleaned, beds made daily etc.
