Quite a reasonable hotel for a Moroccan 3*. As expected, or better, in most areas and staff helpful and friendly. Had one of the suites so plenty of room. Furnishings a bit tired and food the usual Moroccan buffet service, but, all as expected 😅
You know things aren't going to go well when there are no towels in the room and no power. They sent a man up who flipped a switch on the circuit breaker in the closet and then there was light. While waiting for towels, my friend read some of the posted reviews. One, from 2023, talked about their room key opening multiple rooms. This is 2025 and just for fun I thought lets see if I can open multiple rooms on the 2nd floor. I scanned my room key and guest room after guest room opened for me. Lots of yelling between staff at the front desk when I went down and appraised them of this problem. Our towels didn't arrive until four hours later, after I had placed a call to Exoticca, who had booked this tour. However, that gave me plenty of time to study the threadbare area rugs on the floor. They should just get rid of them. Pluses: they do serve beer and alcohol, breakfast buffet has an omelet bar.
We were 2 couples, 2 rooms for one night. As hotels in the area go, this was okay. It was simply convenient for us driving from Merzouga to Marrakech. Hotel is dated but clean. There are plenty of restaurant choices in the area. Good for an overnight.
We stayed for just one night on an eight day Morocco tour. Our room was large but with dated old dark furniture. The bed was comfortable. There was a limited choice buffet meal included and breakfast choice the worst on our trip, but OK if you liked cake. I did get a beer with diner so that was a bonus.
Cute little hotel with a real Marrocain feel, the room was clean and free of Mold, a rarity in this country I quickly discovered. Staff was friendly, food was excellent and I appreciated the fact that the buffet was not self served, therefore didn't have to worry about tourist sneezing all over the food.
Only con during my stay was that I was refused an additional towel by the front desk stating that all towels were distributed to the guests and they had no extra one.
Sounds like the young lady at the front desk was merely lazy and did not want to get it herself, I highly doubt there wasn't an extra towel on site at 10 pm.
Our tour group stopped at this hotel for a one-night stay. I did not like my first room that I was assigned to as the mattress was a toddler size bed… I kindly asked them for a room with a bigger bed and they gave me a tour of two different rooms for me to pick from which had a queen and king size bed. I was thrilled!
We enjoyed the pool area for dinner and breakfast and received excellent service from our bartender! He was on top of it with his hospitality.
The hotel was excellent. The staff were very friendly. We had a great time in here. It offers plenty of things to do: a bar on the pool a nice swimming pool . There is a nightclub here as well. The rooms are cozy and the beds are comfortable. Loved this place
The hotel feels like it needed repairs and updates 20 years ago and no one has done anything about it! I have never stayed in a worse hotel. Felt dirty, bed uncomfortable.
The only good part was the breakfast and service at breakfast.
Would not recommend. (Exotica needs to stop sending people here as part of the group tour!)
Located in the central arterial road of Ouarsazate, this hotel is very popular with large groups who visit by coach.
The facilities are basic and the food too. The dinner & breakfast buffet was laid out with very limited choices for vegetarian. Service can be improved too.
Location is good.
There is a pool and a super market right across.
We stayed here on a group tour - we would not have chosen to stay there if we were travelling independently, as we had read the TripAdvisor reviews prior to going there.
The room and bathroom were below average. The bedding and towels were old, grey and did not smell nice 😞
Average breakfast buffet with limited choice for vegetarians.
We would not stay there again.
Our room was on the first floor and the"music" from the bar was nonstop until 4:00 am. Impossible to sleep. If you have to stay at this hotel, try to get a room as far away from the bar as possible. Dinner and breakfast were so so, but the lack of sleep ruined our stay
Stayed here for one night as part of a coach tour of Morocco, it was fine, the plumbing worked, the room smelt of fresh paint and the TV said "no signal", perhaps they need to plug something in after decorating the room. Good value beers and a bar at the pool.
A group of us from a tour group stayed at "La Perle Du Sud" one night on Nov 30, 2023. There was no in-room safe, unlike all other hotels in Morocco. When we went down for a breakfast, there was a guy standing in the hallway for no reason. Within 30 minutes, the guy went into our room and stole $200 USD cash. After that, he saw another guy who was leaving the room for breakfast and knocked on that door and when his wife answered, he awkwardly said "good morning" then left. He waited until the wife left the room for breakfast and stole cash as well as a bottle of liquor from that room. The wife later saw him working behind the hotel desk, so he had a universal key. In addition, our friend accidentally unlocked someone else's room with his key (He was shocked that his key unlocked another room). Later that morning, when we found out our money was stolen, we went back to the hotel and asked them to resolve it. The daytime manager shrugged off and said "This had never happened before" and essentially told us to leave, rather than trying to figure out who stole our money. Since room keys unlock more than one room AND there is no in-room safe AND they keep employee(s) who steal tourist's money, I'd recommend that everyone avoid this hotel, period. Our Moroccan tour guide who was outraged (as well as the rest of our tour group) specifically asked me to write a Trip Advisor review so that other tourists do not get their money stolen.
Traveling through many cities I stayed 2 days here (in different dates). several rooms had different issues (Air condition didn't work, electricity interrupts every 1-2 minutes, etc) and these have been signaled to the reception / manager. After returning in the same place they said the problem have been fixed and provided us the same rooms with a grin on her face - nothing has been fixed.
The breakfast was almost nothing - mostly from patisseries.
I don't recommend! Stay away!
Convenient if you need to go to the Ouarzazate Airport early in the morning, except breakfast does not start until 6am. So that is too late since flight departs at 7:30am.
Old, tiny bathrooms.
Uncomfortable bed and pillows.
Bad smell throughout premises. Maybe some candles or incense would help.
the breakfast was very tasty and plentiful..room was very nice and clean..was nice to relax by the pool, play cards and have a few beers..very nice place and would totally recommend and would stay here again
Our stay was OK the hotel rooms do need a bit of refreshing. Overall was so so.
Very authentic, great staff, pool is delicious, food is good. Matresses are too soft and bathrooms need work.
