I have seen and visited within the last 20 years numerous destinations and hotels.
As to this hotel and all it's amenities and services (Personnel, food, beach, entertainment, professionalism, friendliness, needed advice/help, cleanliness,...), I can summarize all of them in "3" words.
!!!Excellent, excellent, excellent!!!
We needed some serious downtime and this hotel ticked all the boxes. The gardens are stunning and so quiet and relaxing. The food is great and the vibe is chill.
We also loved Tamarindo beach and enjoyed hopping between the beach and hotel. We would recommend and definitely would consider a return trip.
2-star hotel at best. It’s billed as a “wellness hotel” and there is nothing wellness about it. Menu is terrible and highly limited. Beach path forces you to cross the road after hiking down many many steps… it’s NOT quiet and the “wellness activities” are obviously an afterthought. Overall a terrible experience compared to how it is marketed.
Jardín del Edén feels like a hidden paradise—beautiful, peaceful, and perfectly located in the heart of Tamarindo. The private access points make you feel like a VIP, and the hotel’s beach area with a plunge pool and bar is a standout—our favorite spot to relax and catch sunset.
The staff were incredibly warm and welcoming, and the food and drinks were consistently great. It’s the perfect mix of laid-back Costa Rica vibes with a boutique,
This place is a true gem! The location is within walking distance to the beach and downtown. The property is super clean. The breakfast & supper are both included. The supper is like going to a fine dining restaurant every night. The food is fresh & flavourful. The staff are all amazing but I would like to give credit to Dylan at the desk, Andy & Kevin at the bars and Nancy in the dining room. A fantastic team! The hotel is amazing & I would definitely come back and will be recommending to friends & family. Pura Vida!
We had a great stay at this resort. While our room wasn’t the most luxurious, it was clean and had a beautiful view of the ocean. We heard and saw monkeys multiple days. The evening dinner service was great; don’t skip the sea bass. The beach garden is excellent. Music, safe space, good drinks. Service at this resort is top notch.
We had the most amazing stay at this hotel. After almost three weeks of travelling the length and breadth of Costa Rica, we wanted four days of complete R&R in the sunshine before flying back to the UK, and this hotel certainly provided that. Our garden rooms were great, with excellent aircon and a huge fan, plus a fan on our little terrace. The gardens are exquisite, carefully tended every day and kept looking beautiful. The pool is great, with plenty of sunloungers and beds - there is even a resident iguana. We were very impressed with the buffet breakfast and three course dinner, which although was limited in choice was always beautifully prepared and delicious. There is a separate vegetarian menu if needed, which was always good. One of the best things was the secret garden by the beach! Go though a private gateway off the main street and there you will find a little garden, with copious sunloungers and umbrellas, a constant supply of beach towels, a little pool and a great bar. And the beach was fabulous - exciting waves and not too crowded. If you visit Tamarindo, you must stay here, off the main drag but close enough for all the bars and restaurants.
Overall, this hotel exceeded our expectations. The staff is incredibly friendly and the overall value is fantastic. We very much enjoyed everything about our stay and we’re pleasantly surprised with the quality and choices of food. Even if you are not a vegetarian, I would suggest asking for that dinner menu. The choices were excellent.
Overall, the hotel is a little dated, but very clean. We would definitely stay there again.
We just checked out after a three-night stay at Jardin Del Eden Boutique Hotel, and while the property itself is beautiful and well maintained, the overall experience was disappointing due to consistently poor customer service and lack of attention to detail.
After eight hours of travel, we arrived exhausted and dehydrated, only to be directed to empty water dispensers and then given warm tap water. When our airline instructed us to retrieve delayed luggage from the airport, the hotel offered no transportation assistance and simply told us to take an Uber. Later, multiple staff members watched us struggle to carry a 60-pound suitcase up and down stairs without offering help.
Although the grounds are stunning and very clean, constant maintenance and construction created noise and even blocked the main walkway. On our final day, despite requesting help with a short transfer to their sister property, the front desk forgot. We attempted to walk with six bags, only to find the beach path closed due to construction. Again, staff observed us struggling and offered no assistance, directing us instead to a long, unpaved road. Dragging our luggage uphill for 20 minutes was completely unacceptable.
The included meals were fresh and enjoyable, and the restaurant and bar staff were friendly. I want to ensure we give a very special and well-deserved shoutout to Kevin at the beach bar, who truly stood out and made our experience truly special. Unfortunately, the repeated service failures overshadowed the positives and made this stay feel far below expectations for a boutique hotel.
Great location to relax, walk into town for the multitude of boutique shops / restaurants or onto the beach area where the hotel has its own grassed area with sunbeds and a bar.
The staff are lovely and very welcoming.
We stayed half board and were not disappointed. Whilst the evening meal was limited in choice it was always exceptional.
Our room was kept very clean, was very comfortable and had a nice view out to sea.
Note! This small complex has a lot of stairs / steps and may not be suitable for those with limited mobility.
If you ever visit Tamarindo, which I can't recommend highly enough, then there's no place else that you should stay...if you're traveling without kids. From the gorgeous grounds, to the terrific staff, and the walk-to-everything location, you simply can't go wrong in any way. I've stayed there twice and will never stay anywhere else when I visit the town. It's across the street from the beautiful beach but offers a secluded enclave for quiet and relaxation. Believe the reviews...it's the real deal!
This boutique hotel was quite lovely and exceeded our expectations! The garden grounds are gorgeous and well maintained. Location is excellent for not being literally on the beach. They have created a beautiful garden walkway to the beach. They have a great garden space on the beach with lounge chairs and umbrellas complete with bathrooms and a beach bar.
The food was excellent with a daily changing dinner menu.
I would definitely stay here again!
Jardin Del Eden is a beautiful property with attractive rooms, conveniently located near downtown. We got a kick out of the AC/DC and Led Zeppelin greetings as we walked down the path to downtown, where you can enjoy the beach at the affiliated property across the street, shop for souvenirs, and dine at local establishments.
The room was attractive and good-sized. Although the refrigerator is stocked with a mini-bar, they accommodated our request to use it for items we purchased locally. We enjoyed sitting on the porch and watching the sunset over the ocean.
The property offers yoga and Pilates classes, but does not have a gym. The grounds and pool are well-maintained, and the pool area has enough thatched umbrellas for everyone staying at the resort.
The dinner was very good, and the breakfast was delicious. We savored the variety of fresh fruits, eggs made to order, and sauteed vegetables. A water station would have been helpful as the heat is intense, especially in the middle of the day.
Bottom line: if you’re staying in Tamarindo, the Hotel del Jardin is an excellent choice.
It was as a wonderful experience from start to finish. The staff are amazing, the food is nothing but the best. You will not be disappointed. Amazing views, close to town that is safe to visit. Cannot say enough about it
Love love love loooove everything about this resort!!!
The staff are amazing. Especially Leonardo! We love you all!
Until next time!!!xo
We are currently enjoying paradise at Jardin del Eden! We have never been to Costa Rica, but based on the reviews we tried JDE and are thrilled! You wouldn’t know it driving in, but this peaceful oasis exists just above Tamarindo. The room is wonderful, and has a stunning ocean view. Dinner and breakfast is included and served in a fantastic open air, tropical dining space overlooking the idyllic pool area. And finally, the staff couldn’t be more friendly, and the food is excellent!
We absolutely loved our stay at Jarden del Edin in Tamarindo! What a lovely small boutique hotel with a beautiful pool area and grounds. It is a smaller resort which is nice and we loved the adults only vibe. The food is spectacular and we ate there every night for the time we were there. Our Travel consultant through Costa Rica Vacations booked our room and we had a beautiful garden suite that was private but only steps away from the pool area and restaurant. The bottom floor suites are lovely but you don't get that view of the ocean, so that was bit of a disappointment. Also, since it is an older but beautifully updated resort, the noise from the suite above us was very noticeable. At one point we thought we had a stairwell above us, it was that loud...but it was another suite above us where their patio extended over our sleeping area. That would be the only negative thing to give feedback on.
This was our 3rd trip to Jardin del Eden and it was amazing again.
The location is close to the town but nestled amongst greenery so it is quiet and feels secluded. A short walk down a private path takes you to the street that you will cross to get to the private beach. The greenery allowed us to see monkeys, birds, iguana, raccoon and a weird little fox. The vibe is relaxed and the perfect place for a couple to relax, enjoy nature and reconnect.
The spa is right next to the pool and they give amazing massages at a very reasonable price. The tour desk is in the lobby and they have everything you could want. We didn't want to travel far so chose the Estuary tour. It's inexpensive, about a 5 minute drive from the resort and really cool. We saw Crocs, birds and monkeys on the tour.
The rooms are not exactly the same so we can't speak to all of them. The ones we have been in do appear as you see in the pictures on their website. We found the bed comfortable with a bed topper and the room was clean.
The staff is amazing! They are friendly and helpful and really appreciate when you speak or are open to learning a little Spanish.
This is not a party place. There is sometimes a saxophone player or singer at dinner, but for the most party there is just music and wonderful food. If you are a foody or love fish this is your place. Especially for the price. The value for what you get (room, breakfast, dinner and relaxation) is totally worth it.
This was mine and my husband’s second stay at this hotel and it was wonderful. We arrived two days earlier before a group of 12 with a mix of friends and couples showed up to celebrate a 30th birthday. The atmosphere was relaxed yet lively, making it perfect for both social time and quiet moments. The rooms were comfortable and clean, the staff were incredibly welcoming, and the location made it easy to enjoy the surrounding nature and activities. They accommodated us for a special birthday dinner night and continued to do it the rest of the stay. It felt like a great balance of fun, comfort, and authentic Costa Rican charm. A few names to note, Sylvia, Leonardo, Andy, Natalie, and Kevin were all amazing and wonderful attitudes that made our stay fun! We will be back.
Jardin del Eden is a secret gem in Tamarindo!!!!
It is centrally located adult boutique hotel in the town of Tamarindo, yet hidden in a lush garden setting.
The hotel is very well organized, with friendly and polite staff who will accommodate all holiday wishes with pleasure.
The restaurant is beautifully appointed with delicious clean food. The kitchen staff will willingly accommodate all dietary needs.
There is a refreshing pool as well as beach chairs on a grassy terrain in front of the ocean with a beach bar!
This is a repeat visit for us and not the last!
