Super locatie en personeel
Eigenlijk nietd
De locatie en de sfeer
Mijn badkamer was geschikt voor gehandicapten of moeilijk lopenden. Er waren steunbeugels bij het toilet, de douche en zelfs een uitklapbaar zitje bij de douche. Dat had luxer gekund.
Very friendly and helpful staff, we felt warmly welcomed from the first moment. Great Pool area and food at the Restaurant downstairs - we really enjoyed our stay!!
Alles tot in de puntjes verzorgd. Geen enkele vraag was te veel, zowel aan receptie als andere personeelsleden.
Clean. Liked the luxury of the lounge
One hour lounge time offered late afternoon is not sensible. You are either out sightseeing / doing activities, or getting ready for dinnet
First and foremost we found the staff at the Level section extremely helpful and they were always pleasant
The Restaurant Casa Nostra. It was
explained to us that Hotel is shut down during the Winter months and had just opened a few days before we checked in. The rooftop restaurant for level guests opened on the day we left. The staff at the only restaurant available to us need to replicate what their other colleagues achieved during our stay
Never used Melia hotels before, but learnt so much in a week, that the brand has grown on me.
Location
Loved the location, as we like a walk around, investigate the area - it’s right near the marina and town (3 minute walk), on arguably a better side of the resort. We preferred the beach of Playa Niu Blau, around a 15 minute walk along the coast path - if we’re the otherside of town (W area), that beach would be more of a walk.
Food
The half board choice we made was actually really good value. I’ve got PTSD when I get to hotels due to poor quality all-inclusive giving me heartburn amongst other issues. No concern here.
Breakfast options are plentiful, including table service for egg choices, and pots of tea. The quality is good, and is a standard befitting the price point.
Dinner, à la carte style, which again is just that level above the norm, with a varied menu (same daily), and we happily worked through the menu for the days we did eat there.. Italian based menu, with something for everyone. The quality again was good, and I couldn’t fault the food we had (grilled salmon, sea bass, carbonara, pork…).
Room
We were “Level” customers, and opted for the ‘Level Junior Suite Supreme Sea View - Half Board’ - and as much as this bumped the price up a bit, we now know the “level” is where you want to be (for inclusion to certain aspects of the hotel, like breakfast location and rooftop access timing)
The room had amazing views and was clean and really modern. Few tiny aspects could be improved decoratively, but you really would be getting fussy if you focussed on them.
Our room was 248, benefits from being at the corner point so you get front and side views - the rooms all left to us had glass screens either side for privacy and therefore not panoramic, but I’m sure that wouldn’t have been the end of the world in those rooms.
Staff
A real credit to the hotel are the staff, and always happy, approachable, and memorable.
Special shout out to Pablo and Marina in the evening dining area, they are brilliant - so personable, relaxed and professional - they really set the benchmark and should be commended for their customer relations. We loved Fredrico too, he was a real shining light in the dining area, made us feel special and honestly looks like he is loving his role.. which is infectious.
Nicole is also very good for the place, she is informative, gets customers involved and is a credit to the Melia company - she is there from the Tenerife hotel, and clearly is an asset worth keeping hold of.
Pools
Rooftop is lovely, I would say it wasn’t that busy when we went, so beds could be harder to come by when say 30 couples are up there, but no worries for us. Bar right next to the pool, and the views are decent, even from the pool.
The main pool, we struggled for the first few days to get a bed, so we joined the early birds and whacked the towels down early.. this again could be a major issue in peak season, beds to customer ratio. It is large enough, and deep enough, most of it is 170cm deep. There are 2 bars within short walking distance, and we really liked it.
All pool areas are clean, well maintained, and relaxing.. no diving, no inflatables - it’s all very relaxed and calming.
Entertainment
Now… we are not Melia regulars, but we now understand more than before we left.
We booked a week before going, so research as a whole was limited.
The odd entertainment is provided, loved the singer on our first night, she was playing near the dining area, and I thought we’d hit the jackpot… we don’t want all inclusive style cabaret entertainment, but a bit more of a splattering to liven the place up would have been nice - but we now know that’s what you’d go to the ME Melia in Ibiza up the road, which is by all accounts a touch livelier.
So we now know, we chose the calm version, the relaxing Melia hotel - and for 70% of our stay that suited us.. but we just wish for 30% they’d have given it some welly, turn the music up, play a bit more funky house up at the rooftop now and then.. but we get that this place is probably not the one for that (quite a few older than us there, and we are in our 40s, might explain why it never just gives it some Ibiza vibes more).
We learnt so much about Melia during our stay, and we now understand how it works.
This hotel is perfectly located, offers good food and amenities - and is so relaxing you could end up coming out of it horizontally chilled out after a week! We had a great week, thanks.
We stayed here last year for a friends wedding which was nearby and enjoyed our time there. We decided to go again (without all the hassle of the wedding etc). Again we chose to stay on the Level. Greeted at the Level reception which is separate from the main building. Staff are pleasant but we had to wait nearly 4 hours for our room to be ready and after a very early start we were very tired. We did sit in the Level lounge and have some of the free drinks and fruit etc.
junior suite with sea view was great again. Clean & spacious. Housekeeping is excellent! Robes and slippers are a great touch as are Ritual soaps etc. Breakfast in the lounge was terrible as if you leave your table to go and get food together someone invariably cleans your table while you are gone which means any drinks you have ordered and poured are taken away!
Also once again it is increasingly disappointing that drinks on the Level roof top are not free. Even if it was just some soft drinks, bottled beer and cava as per the lounge it would beneficial. Also not being able to go up there until 10am and then having to wait for the two lifts to be switched to allow access is very annoying. Bali beds that have a minimum spend of €100 have now taken the spot of 6 sun-beds which led to some people not getting a spot on the roof that they have actually paid more for.
The black flies were a nuisance this year and far worse than last year.
Location is great which is a good reason to stay here but this will have been our last time.
Sehr umfangreiches Frühstück. Die Lage ist besonders schön. Wunderbares Rooftop.
Die Zimmer sind sehr schalldurchlässig und hellhörig.
