⭐ 1-Star Review – The Hotel Hot Springs
Date of stay: April 5, 2026
Our experience at The Hotel Hot Springs was unacceptable and honestly frightening.
Around 8:30 PM, an electrical fire broke out while we were staying on the 9th floor. We were forced to evacuate down a stairwell with no lighting whatsoever—only the flashlight on my phone. There were no emergency lights, and we were walking through complete darkness and black smoke, which is extremely dangerous. We were smart enough to grab a towel and cover our mouths just to be able to breathe while getting out.
Once outside, there was no management coordination, no guidance, and no communication. Guests were left standing around with no idea what to do next.
Because both my husband and I are heart patients and needed our medications, we made the difficult decision to drive nearly 3 hours back home without our belongings.
After leaving, the hotel made no attempt to contact us—no phone call, no email. It took three full days before we were finally able to get through and speak to someone at the hotel, which is completely unacceptable after an emergency like this.
The only person who kept us informed at all was the Fire Marshal, who tried to update me about when electricity might be restored.
When we finally reached someone, they confirmed they had our belongings, and we drove 400 miles round trip to retrieve them. I do appreciate housekeeping for gathering and keeping our items safe.
However, when I spoke to the manager about compensation for the situation and the trip, he was rude and dismissive. He stated it was “not his fault we left” and showed zero concern when I mentioned the lack of emergency lighting in the stairwell, saying that was “not his problem.”
This level of negligence, lack of safety measures, and poor customer service—especially during an emergency—is completely unacceptable.
I would strongly caution anyone considering staying here.

Great location. Beautiful view
Pros:

I loved the location. It was an easy walk to the downtown area/ bathhouse row and I enjoyed waking up to the beautiful view! I’d definitely stay again

Cons:

The shower had a little bit of mold in the corner but overall the room was pretty clean.

Pros:

This was my 3rd stay at the Hotel Hot springs and they are always so nice there. The hotel is clean and the beds are comfortable. The view is amazing. The hotel is located close enough to bath house row you can walk.

Great Stay!
Pros:

Actually I was very surprised with the Hotel Hot Springs! For a budget priced hotel I wasn’t expecting the level of service I got. I didn’t have a reservation because my hotel that rhymes with “daughters” on bathhouse row told me upon checking in that my room wouldn’t have air conditioning! And I was supposed to spend $350 for it? I drove to the Hotel Hot Springs and she got me a room immediately, with air conditioning and at a third of the price. Their shuttle driver was great, he drove us to the casino then came and picked us up. There was a bar, we had a couple drinks, nothing special, and a breakfast buffet. Very, very pleased with my stay here!!
