L'Escale (accès en télécabine)

Everything is very well done for a comfortable stay. The room has simple furnishings, but a comfortable locker and shelves. There is a place to put personal belongings. The owners of the hotel, Johanna and Sarah, create a cozy, homely atmosphere. The restaurant is above all praise. I wouldn't be surprised if the chef gets a Michelin star in a year or two.

Formidable établissement idéalement situé sur les pistes. Accueil très chaleureux avec un personnel accessible et attentionné du début à la fin (merci pour le prêt des bâtons). Mention spéciale pour le jacuzzi et le sauna extérieurs qui permettent de profiter du calme de la montagne après la fermeture du télécabine. Les repas étaient succulents et copieux. Nous conseillons et reviendrons avec grand plaisir

We had lunch at the Escale the entire week and the experience was great every single day. Portions are huge and always full of taste. Kids loved the lasagne and the club - the dish of the day is also always excellent. The restaurant owners offered us some liquor based on pine code buds - delicious.
I will definitively use L’escale again as a base when i will return to Chatel

Superb location, excellent & friendly staff, nothing was too much trouble.

We were a party of four friends, sharing a room and knew we'd arrive late. The hotel organised a skidoo trip to get us up the hill and had food waiting for us.

The hotel were able to organise our lift passes, had options for discounts on ski-hire and all sorts.

Great food and service. The staff were totally attentive and we were looked after really well. The view whilst eating lunch is spectacular. They do the best Berthoud and they looked after my Gluten Free requirements. A really great experience.

This was our 2nd ski holiday staying in L'Escale and we enjoyed just as much as our first trip. This time we staying in a room with a balcony, which would recommend, with lovely views over the valley. Meals were excellent with good choices. Staying here in the morning you step out of the large boot room onto the piste, so ski out and ski in. The L'Escale is a slice of tranquility on a mountain, you do not feel shut off from the village more privileged to be in such a beautiful location. The staff were very friendly. The rooms were large and quite basic but had everything you need. A magical stay at L'Escale.

Just had a fantastic week at the L'Escale. There is something magical about being far from the madding crowd up a mountain, which falls silent at 5pm. Then it is just the piste bashers and quiet, ideal for the kids to toboggan or just sit on the terrace and admire the view. The staff are incredibly friendly and hard-working. The food was excellent, a wonderful spread for breakfast and dinner was also excellent. We had lunch on a couple of days as well, with a varied and large menu. If I had to come up with a criticism, it's that the Wi-fi basically does not work and for some reason the 4G seems not to work well, either. The rooms are a little basic, but that's not what you're there for. They are clean and comfortable. You can ski, quite literally, out the backdoor and apart from the fellow guests, the only others at the bar in the evening are the pisteurs. We will be back, for sure. A massive thank you to Sarah, Johanna and the rest of the team for making it such a pleasurable stay.
