Very friendly staff. Lovely to meet Karl, the owner, who gave us lots of info about Tobago. Fantastic location on the cliff top near Scarborough and easy to access everywhere else on the island, but you do need a car. I wish we had known about a band event on the day we left because we could have extended our stay a bit longer!!
The hotel is clearly quite old, and while it has been re-furbished it cannot be described as plush ... More a basic facility with a reasonable state of repair, but clearly past its heyday, which I believe was in the 1950s. For most of our stay we didn't see any other guests at all which is rather sad. Still, we were very sad to leave and will definitely be back again, having sussed out the geography of the island properly now!!
A beautiful secluded hotel nestled on the ocean front. Our room overlooked the ocean and the view was breathtaking. Perfect place to relax and enjoy life. Private beach. Very clean. Friendly staff representing the island's hospitality.
I worked with the staff to curate our day trips and dinner experiences throughout the island. The lobster dinner on the patio overlooking the sea was a one in a million experience. I increased my cardio by utilizing a natural jogging/walking path. All rooms are true ocean front, giving you a great view from every room.
We chose to stay at the Blue Haven in Tobago on the recommendation of friends who had raved about the place and the service. We wanted to spend a week in complete relaxation, breathing fresh air far from smog and noise. At first, the journey seemed long for just one week, but there’s a direct flight from Frankfurt, and it’s only a 20-minute drive from the airport to the hotel. The hotel offers a convenient transfer service.
The moment you arrive, you can breathe the fresh air, and the only sound you hear is the waves of the Caribbean Sea. The hotel is located directly by the sea, surrounded by lush palm trees and untouched nature. The sea-view terrace is stunning, and having breakfast there while watching toucans is pure paradise.
The room service is caring and attentive, the menu caters to every desire, and the fish, caught fresh daily, is prepared excellently, as is the rest of the food. Food that nourishes the soul and delights the palate.
A short flight of stairs from the terrace leads to a beautiful small beach equipped with towels and lounge chairs. For anyone looking to relieve stress and physical or mental fatigue, I highly recommend this hotel. Even in just one week, you can fully recharge and be ready to face everyday life again.
It's no coincidence that the hotel is called Blue Haven.
My wife and I had an amazing week at Blue Haven. The highlight was the Independence Day event on the terrace, with live entertainment and a fantastic grill. The service was exceptional, the food was delicious, and the views were simply breathtaking. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. Highly recommend!
I had the most amazing stay at the Blue Haven Hotel! My boyfriend and I came for the romantic getaway package and stayed for a week. The hotel offers a stunning sunset view on the terrace, perfect for a romantic dinner. During the day we enjoyed the beach which was just a pathway away! We will definitely return and highly recommend it!!
I would like to shoutout to Richie who went above and beyond to accommodate us. His professionalism and friendliness will bring us back to blue haven next time we go to Tobago
My stay at the Blue Haven Hotel was the PERFECT vacation. I was on a solo trip and felt safe and taken care of the whole time. The staff was friendly, the food was delicious, and the VIEW. I couldn't get enough of that beach! Blue Haven will definitely be seeing me again!!!
To put it bluntly Blue Haven needs gutting.
The rooms are tired and dirty, the “Shutters”restaurant has shut down, the so called wonderful beach is just strewn with broken deckchairs, and litter.
Need I say more.
I am also led to believe that this hotel is now for sale.
Let’s hope someone buys it and put it back to its former glory!
The property is in a state of disrepair and needs updating. The shower and toilet are good. The staff is friendly and helpful. The beach is beautiful. This was once an amazing place perhaps in the early 80s, but it's stuck there and not in a good way. There needs to be significant investment in restoring and updating this hotel. It's also not very accessible. It's too expensive for what you're getting. Definitely should receive a refund. We didn’t spend the night anf checked out early.
From the most friendly and accommodating staff, view of the ocean from your room, access to ‘your very own beach’, sunsets stemmed into starry nights on the terrace while having dinner and cocktails. Blue haven is nothing short of the perfect getaway ❤️…
This unique hotel with a great history is set in an idyllic picturesque location just a few minutes from the airport and capital city. Delightful restaurant with fantastic food and friendly atmosphere. Has been host to royalty and Hollywood legends. The large pool and sandy beach cater for a pleasurable and relaxing visit.
Royalty and Hollywood stars have been here, movies have been filmed here, and we were treated like royalty too!!
With a breathtaking view of the Atlantic, and a secluded sandy beach this hotel is a dream come true. Absolutely top notch cuisine and attentive staff make it THE place to stay in Tobago.
The property was beautiful and peaceful…the staff was very helpful and accommodating. I would definitely return
We had the best time ever in blue haven!we booked our room thru their website and we traveled all the way from turkey with my wife and 3.5 years old girl . We stayed 1 week and everything was great . Amazing beach and best food in town! Entire staff always smiling very polite . I would definitely recommend and would like to go back soon . Also special thanks to manager karl ✌️
Stunning location and friendly staff but unfortunately the hotel is extremely run down as you will be able to see from the pictures.
Desperate need of refurbishment, black moles in the bath, complimentary breakfast was a basket of toast as they had run out of butter on the second day and also run out of orange juice,
We were there for two nights only but would have had to change hotels if staying any longer
The staff were excellent and tried to accommodate us as much as they could. Unfortunately the property is in need of a lot of repair… it has great potential because the surroundings are beautiful. Rooms are outdated and not as clean and fresh. We were the only guests on premises
The Blue Haven hotel exceeded all our expectations! The view from the terrace is just picturesque - a true tropical paradise! The staff was incredibly helpful and the rooms always clean. The food was delicious (highlight being the catch of the day). It was our first visit to Tobago and will definitely be back at the Blue Haven soon. Highly recommended!
Pro: This is an older hotel with great character. The owner has done a great job with the re-model over Covid. The view from almost anywhere is fantastic, overlooking the entry to the Scarborough harbor. A nice public beach is just steps away. I think this is an overlooked property due to Covid and somewhat out of the way location. I was the only one there for my two day stay! Basically, the whole staff was waiting on just me! For that reason, my review may be a bit skewed. Although the restaurant was not open there is a bar by the lobby and they had the full menu available there. It was nice to talk directly to the chief and the food was great. Again I was the only one there so maybe I was treated better than if it was crowded. The room was comfortable and I slept well having the sliding door open to the ocean breeze and the sound of the waves.
Con: There are two building structures for the hotel rooms. I stayed in what would be the original structure and it was in good shape considering it’s an older structure. Next to it was an odd-looking cube like rooms with a separate roof structure. It is totally out of place and since I did not stay in that section have no idea what the rooms are like. IMO they should be torn down and rebuilt to match the older section. If you stay I would be confirming your room is in the original structure!
Note: This is Tobago and in general things are a bit run down and the sea air takes its toll on everything. I mention thi
I create unique experiences for working moms to reset and relax in Paradise. Trinidad - for total-far-out niceness.. AND Tobago's natural Sweet- surroundings!
The Blue Haven Hotel matched the charm and flow my group was looking for in Tobago- Secluded, ocean front, with spiritually breathtaking views all around. What they paid for is what they got!
Given the pandemic shutdown, it was easy to forgive the ongoing repairs - It was much needed attention to detail. Plus it's nice to see everyone so caring, and getting involved.
Overall, the group enjoyed their stay, and made a point of calling Blue Haven, their own personal hideaway. There was no stress or bothersome wait at check in.
Over four days, they enjoyed sanctuary sounds in the AM. The deck caught the island breeze (it was perfect from breakfast to brunch! ). Great pool area for sunbathing. And ask for your massage "on the rocks"( if you're up for an adventure).
Dinner was always fun, and the food was always tasty, the midnight BBQ-vibe helped them unwind from a full day, and the live concert added a great touch.
Blue Haven felt like home, with simple luxuries. THANK YOU KARL! It was a proud moment for me as a fellow TRINBAGONIAN!! As an ORGANIZER! Its tricky having to plan the majority of your travel remotely. Karl maintained my trust, I got the special thumbs up from all in attendance. I'm looking forward to future trips, and taking my community there!
Old property with a rich history. Has retained a lot of its old charm. Lovely location.Would definitely return.
