A must stay in Kagoshima, magnificant views, reasonable pricing and excellent breakfast dishes!
Pros:

After a long journey from Europe to Japan, we have stayed the first two nights of our Japan trip in Kagoshima Art. The rooms were pretty spacious for japanese standards, and the beds were very comfortable, so we could sleep out our jet-lag very well. The best thing about the hotel is that we had a balcony at the 10th floor with a magnificant view across the bay and to the active volcano.
The first morning we wake-up pretty late. Just before 9:30 AM the friendly staff of the breakfast buffet let us enter to have a pleasant and delicious breakfast in japanese style. The breakfast buffet with typical Kagoshima dishes, was one of the best we had during our Japan trip, and is highly recommended !

Rooms were very quiet; Every now and then a ferry departs from the nearby pier or passes by in the bay, but there’s no street traffic. A taxi ride from/to the station cost about 12 euros, which is very reasonable. There’s also a bus frequently going to the center, cost only 300Yen. Grocery store 7eleven is right across the street.

For a next trip to Japan, we would definitely book again Kagoshime Art !

Cons:

The hotel itself is definitely showing its age; the furniture and rooms could use a refresh. Still, there’s nothing to complain about when it comes to value for money. The breakfast buffet has just open till 9:30 AM, half an hour longer would be appreciated.
The location is app. 4km away from the city centre, which is not a criticism, but important to realize for those who want to be in walking distance of the center. It is however easy enough to get to the main train station by taxi or bus.

Cons:

The staff lied to us about the price of the parking when we arrived, we asked to stay there 3 days and at the end of the stay, we had to pay way more than what we agreed. They said it didn’t count between 11 and 2pm everyday. So we ended up paying a lot more money than what they said. Also, the washing machine didn’t work properly and we ended up putting our clothes to dry 4 times, and they were still wet. We had to hang them to dry all around our room. I don’t recommend this hotel since when you have a problem the staff isn’t even here, no one is at reception. They weren’t very kind or apologetic about the parking situation. Disappointed.

コインランドリーがあった。

施設自体はよかったのですが…外国人のスタッフの説明が聞き取りずらくとてもわかりにくかったです💦年配の（おじさん）スタッフの対応も常に感じが悪く酷かったです…💦対応は最悪でした…

Tolle Aussicht, chilliger Vibe.
Pros:

Wir haben ein Zimmer mit Sakurajima-View gebucht und wurden nicht enttäuscht. Die Aussicht war bombastisch, auch weil wir glücklicherweise ein Zimmer im obersten Stockwerk gekriegt haben. Sehr freundliches Personal, auch das BBG-Dinner für 5000 Yen, inkl. Getränke, war toll. Sakurajima war nicht so aktiv, trotzdem sehr guter Aufenthalt.

Cons:

Busverbindungen sind nicht so häufig. Coin Laundry war sehr rege benutzt und wir mussten ein bisschen warten.
