Pros:

The views were amazing from this hotel, pretty much from all areas. They have a large wonderful breakfast buffet with hot and cold food, great coffee and all you can drink mimosas. The bus stop is less than a half block across the street with restaurants all the way up and around top of hill. Lots of fun shops too!’

Never in a millions years was this a four star hotel not worth even 2
Pros:

Worst Hotel we have ever stayed in. We were not shown to our room just told the lift is over there. Double bed was two singles pushed together which kept coming apart.
Water in bathroom sink would not go down needed plunging, shower you could not move in. You could hear flushing toilets from other room and scrapping chairs across the floor. when putting the tap on it sounded like a garden machine was outside. The furniture was scratched and stained. Hotel needs doing up, loads of broken floor tiles on the balcony. Reception staff miserable and unhelpful

Pros:

It would make a world of difference if the rooms were painted. But it is unquestionably a beautiful old school hotel and grounds. I loved once I got past my expectations of what a hotel is supposed to look like.

Pros:

Beautiful panoramic views of Taormina from the balconies and terraces. About 10 minutes walk up hill into the city proper. The front desk can call you a taxi and they arrive fast. Breakfast is simple but in a lovely setting overlooking the sea. No lunch or dinner service. Rooms are on the small side with again lovely views, but cramped showers and dated furnishings.

Pros:

Great location with amazing views. The parts of the hotel that have recently been refurbished look great. Some areas seem a little tired, but you can tell that they are refurbishing throughout. The pool area is beautiful but bear in mind that there are a lot of steps to get down to it.

Pros:

No dinner available. 185 steps from swimming pool up to hotel. Lovely area at pool but too far away. Beds narrow and not very comfortable. Great location. Near bus station.

Quiet location great room and pool
Pros:

The service and location of the hotel were excellent. The pool area is beautiful and there were plenty of sunbeds and parasols at all times. Our room was lovely and had an amazing view across the sea towards the Italian mainland. The location is in a quiet area of Taramina away from the crowds, which can be overwhelming at times. Therefore, being able to return to the peace of the Hotel was a real plus.

Pros:

This hotel on its day would have been magnificent (in the fifties!) the view is what this hotel is super fantastic and that’s it! Bathroom was terribly small the shower was The worse I have ever experienced! Seriously need upgrading NEVER SHOULD THIS HOTEL BE 4stars except for the amazing view No plugs except for your bed side! So you’re in the dark if you want to charge your phone. One more thing that people need to know! 255 steps to the pool !! And then obviously the same amount back up to get to the lift.😳

Sadly Disappointing
Pros:

The hotel is advertised as 4 star, it is very far from deserving this, to the upkeep and maintenance to the disinterested service by their staff, I would rate it as 2 star, it’s redeeming features are its position , close walking distance into Taormina and the lovely views from the rear of the hotel.

Good with great potential
Pros:

One of the quietest hotels I've stayed in, but also one of the smallest shower cubicles I've ever seen...

Arrived late and the welcome/check-in was friendly, efficient and fast. Straight to my room, unpacked and into bed. Single bed in a single room on the main floor with a small balcony overlooking the bay. Reasonable size room, very comfortable and clean, but as I said, absolutely tiny shower cubicle, I'm only 1m68 (5ft6) and not the widest person and I was bashing elbows and having to be careful...

Breakfast next morning on the terrace and WHAT A VIEW! Breakfast buffet has all you need, fresh fruit, joghurt selection cold meats and cheeses, scrambled eggs, sausages and bacon and a large choice of pastries and bread. Also fruit juice and Prosecco and you can order coffee or help yourself from a big samovar if you want "Americano".

Hotel does not offer evening meals but the pool bar seemed popular and good and it's less then 10 minutes walk up the hill to the old town centre with a huge range of restaurants to suit all tastes and budgets. I made a point of eating a large breakfast then looking forward to a decent meal in a different place each evening.

The hotel is slowly renovating and the first areas done are reception (bright, cheerful, welcoming) and the pool...the rest of the hotel does need modernising, the rooms are clean and comfortable but feel a little old and a bit tired. Not a real criticism, just an observation.

The pool has been wholly refurbished and is absolutely heavenly! Not huge but with wide shallow steps leading into the main pool, never more than waste-deep, and simply lovely. I swam upwards of 1000 metres every day and loved it. It's only open 10am to 6pm so I was disappointed not to have a pre-breakfast dip but then found 10-4 was perfect as the sun disappears behind the hotel by then anyway. Also, the steps up/down, all 189 of them, will keep anyone fit!

All in all, a good hotel, with potential to be really fantastic with the location and what they have done so far. Staff were really friendly and helpful, even with my terrible Italian. I enjoyed my stay and would come again, but probably book a double room for extra space.

Pros:

The hotel is in an amazing location, with great views from the pool area over Isola Bella and from the rooms (if you are lucky enough to have unrestricted windows).

Amenities are rather basic, we stayed for two nights and on both occasions the breakfast ran out (we did notice some other guests that arrived later, like 9ish, complaining to the staff) so definitely arrive nice and early for breakfast!

The rooms most definitely need some redecoration to bring them to the modern era. The breakfast and house keeping staff were extremely friendly, polite and attentive wherever possible.

Lovely Classic Italian Hotel - Breathtaking Views
Pros:

What a wonderful hotel in Taormina! The views are absolutely spectacular. Rooms are spacious and comfortable.

Salvatore and Francesca at the front desk were kind and accomodating. Location is excellent. Does require a taxi or Uber to get into town if you are not in favor of the 10 minute (uphill) walk. Breakfast is good with many choices, but earlier is better. There is no evening dining at the hotel, but with so many restaurant options, this was not an issue at all. Lunch is available at the pool snack bar. There is a fantastic little terrace restaurant at the end of the street where you can find lunch, dinner, gelato or a cocktail.

Did we mention the views??!!! Breathtaking.

Tired looking needs modernised
Pros:

The hotel has two redeeming features location is one near to town, bus and cable car, and the newly renovated terrace and pool. But it’s not a four star hotel in other areas the rooms are dated and need updating our shower door kept falling off and soaking the floor and to clean yourself properly you had to keep turning shower off as cubicle too small, tiles cracked and grout dirty. Breakfast was ok if you wanted to eat cakes and pastries, the hot section which consisted of hard scrambled eggs and undercooked bacon was not appetising. The staff were mainly very pleasant but higher management ignorant. So no more than 3 stars at that
