Location was great. Front desk was very friendly. Nice breakfast. Warm shower. Comfortable bed. Good sized fridge. Clean.
Everything was old. Nothing fancy but I didn't mind. I didn't like that our room window was facing the entrance on ground level. I like opening the windows in the morning but everyone would have seen us! This was just our particular room.
Clean nothing spectacular. Had a nice time. Nothing else to do really other than the longwood gardens
I have many more photos but am limited to amount that can be uploaded. I am honestly disappointed in myself. I should have investigated this hotel more before spending over $500. As home renovators- we can honestly say this place is an embarrassment. I booked this stay for my husband's 40th birthday. We have 3 small children and it has been almost 9 years since we had a solo get away. I booked room 227- the king bed/ fireplace/ jacuzzi room. It was going to be a wonderful weekend....until we arrived. The photos have to AI or severely photo shopped. They are NOT true to life. BEWARE!!!! This hotel is giving cheap landlord repairs, thin paint, 3rd world hospitality and "This Will Do- Jerry Rigged!" There is a general feeling and ambiance of a run down section 8 apartment building. Shoddy carpentry and thrown together rooms are NOT what you see in the images they display when you book your reservation.
- almost no parking availability after 7 p.m. and the parking area is very difficult to maneuver due to small size.
- hotel cleaning staff were hanging out the lower basement entrance in sleepwear (at 7 p.m.)
- one of our biggest issues was the intense smell of someone cooking food with in the hotel walls. The halls and rooms smelled terrible. The smell of garlic, onions, cilantro, canola oil and cod fish was so strong each afternoon and into the evening hours we had to open the windows the little we could. The smell permeated our clothing when going out of the hotel.
- it is overwhelming obvious that some of the staff /housekeeping are living or staying within the hotels lower rooms.
- dingy lighting in the halls, paint splatter on all the carpets.
- light fixtures hanging loosely off the walls down the hallways and not well lit.
- the walls and doors are so thin you have zero privacy and hear everything in the halls and other guest rooms including being woken up early by other guests and staff at 5 a.m.
- the in room drinking glasses appear to be stained from previous use.
- upon walking into the room- the laminate wood floor was loose and buckled severely from previouswater damage which an be an indication improper of MOLD remediation.
- the floor was peeling up causing us to trip throught the room and exposing old carpet under the laminate floor boarded.
- there are clear signs of water damages from the jacuzzi overflowing in the past.
- walls and trim throughout the room had large gaps, chipped paint, dirt, finger prints, hair, dust and dried fluids of all kinds.
- the lamps were ragged, dented and cobwebbed.
- the room phone didn't even connect to the front desk, it was dead/disconnected and we had to call the booking.com phone number to reach the front desk about our mold and water damage concerns.
- the air intake vent in for the room heating system was packed full with dirt, dust, and hair.
- there is no in room air-conditioning you mist open the windows that are NOT all properly operating.
- in room propane fireplace is NOT up to fire safety code and only has a screen cover NOT glass- fireplace facade has splatter, sticky adhesive, and built up uncleaned residue.
- the television is only 30 inch and very difficult to view in a room of this size especiallyfrom the bed.
- television remote was sticky.
- room couch was sagging, heavily worn, and very outdated.
- large amounts of dead insects throughout the room on floors and all surfaces of room giving an even further feelng of filth. We had to wear shoes the full duration of our stay in the room and bathroom.
- very thick dust on all surfaces, bed mantel, bed posts, night stands, dresser, hairdryer and refrigerator.
- fabric/material on desk chair torn and fully worn off exposing inners.
- blackout curtains are fully missing off their tracks on the windows. Only light shades covering the windows; allowing for light to stream into the room in the early a.m.
- aged and discoloration on mattress.
- top bed cover with noticeable ink stains.
- light switch plates and outlet plugs are repulsive. They are missing screws, yellow, dirt build up, filthy and many not matching at all and or simply NOT functional.
- the shower caulk bead along the base of shower is filled with mildew and MOLD.
- shower doors are missing multiple screws and fasteners that are on the floor of the shower.
- the shower head was packed with calcium build up and foreign debris from water scaling.
- both bathroom sinks have exposed plumbing that is less than code with exposed tags on pluming water hoses and plumbing apparatuses.
- none of the bathroom fixtures match except the mirrors and twin faucets.
- the jacuzzi had hair, film, and soap build up around the inside base of tub with a severely dated and discolored drain stopper and cracked bottom of tub.
- bathroom vent fan packed with visible dust and visibly hanging out of fan from ceiling.
- bathroom mirrors scrapped, worn and missing paint on high contact areas.
- the room full window screens are torn and ripped.
- the trim on the ceilings / floor have excessive and glaring nail pops and sloppy caulk leftover that have just been rudely painted over multiple times in thick globs.
- not enough towels and they were torn and frayed on the edges.
- a whole in the wall at the location of the current smoke detector.
- breakfast bar was majorly lacking and a carb fest full of food junk fest. Off brand yogurt, only hard boiled eggs for protein and terribly beat up breakfast bar with chipped paint filthy tables.
- the buffet was like a cheap food bank. Their idea of fresh fruit was a bowl with baby carrots, green and red grapes for BREAKFAST!?!
The toilet was clean and location

Nice location
N/A
Location, restaurants and shops walkable, on site breabfast.
No air conditioning, but the weather cooperated.
The breakfast room was beautiful! The selection was nice as far as variety, altho I thought the quality of the baked goods below par. Loved having the HB eggs. Very good tea selection!
I MISSED having a person at the front desk to greet me and give me a sense of hospitality during my stay. 1 exception was my arrival night, and 1 other brief moment when someone was there. For the most part, it was vacant. I couldn't locate a human for any need/question/sense of the area. Clearly the BR Hotel is remotely managed-it felt lacking in the hospitality arena!
The quality of the baked goods. Seemed cheap and unremarkable.
See above.
Scenic property close to very good restaurants.
Lots of breakfast options
extra blanket on the bed would have been nice
Great hotel for the price
Clean professional and continental breakfast included
Would definitely recommend if in the area
Troy greeted us last night friendly and helpful
Large room with wonderful nature view
Lobby charming with fireplace
Our event was canceled due to the Blizzard and when I called to cancel the room due to the Blizzard, she said I could request a refund my emailing the management or she could issue a credit for our rescheduled stay. Neither has happened and management refuses to discuss it despite the front desk clerk telling me she definitely offered me that.
Convenient location, clean property and friendly staff.
Would suggest coffee maker in room.
