The staff were great and accommodating. I didn’t get her name, but she was amazing and extremely gracious with me.

Cons:

The first room I got, I asked for a bath, it was so tiny. I couldn’t get an actual bath. I’m not even heavy, I’m 6ft and didn’t manage to get a comfortable bath. Midway into my stay, I was told the bathroom was leaking, it was in fact true and it was leaving a smell in the room.

I was given another room, which did not have a bath and yet it was extremely cold. My new room gave me a cold. I left the hotel on Thursday, got home (London) and slept. Friday morning I woke with flu and conjunctivitis. Which I definitely didn’t have the day(s) before.

This is my second time staying at Mercure. I didn’t enjoy it at all and it really affected me. It hurt me because my first time was great. But this one wasn’t the best and even now, while I’m still sick and still suffering from conjunctivitis.

The next time I come to Birmingham, I don’t think I’ll be staying at the Mercure again.

Love staying there staff wonderful. Only complaint is plumbing as
