Amber Hotel - Special Class

Comfortable stay at Amber Hotel old city, Reception staff is very helpful and friendly. delicious breakfast on the rooftop, rooms are clean and fairly new. beds and pillows are comfortable.

10min walk to the tram station/grand bazar

Our first two nights they offered us LG floor rooms which were in a bad condition and really dark with some funny smell. we could not sleep properly.

Thr room has very poor lighting. The decor red sheet at the bottom of the bed fell on the floor from 1st night yet they put that back on the bed instead of putting it for wash. I removed it and gave it to the receptionist. The headboard had dust on it. Wasn’t cleaned before we arrived nor was it cleaned during our stay. The room is small, very tough to open bags and move around the room. No space to keep luggage. The hand shower fell on my son’s head once and the shower room was also leaking making the entire bathroom floor wet. For $60 more, you can get a better hotel with cleanliness and more space. Our itinerary changed so we had to checkout one day early so they did agree to refund the 3rd night back which was good. Would I stay here again? Nope. Won’t recommend either.

Warning, Legionella Bacteria!!!!!!
We stayed 1 weak at this hotel and my wife got Legionnaires' disease caused by Legionella bacteria from the AC or shower. She got breathing problem and stayed at hospital. The hotel has a low standard.
No way to recommend this hotel.

Small Friendly hotel, with comfortable clean on-suite rooms. Walking distance from old city

Concierge very helpful and friendly - English speaking. Chef a delight, no English but very obliging.

Satellite TV system needs re-tuning.

Hotel Amber is situated in Kumkapi near a streat with a lot of (fish)restaurants and in walking distance of the bazaars. The location was very good. The room was very clean (and was cleaned every day). The breakfast was on top of the hotel with a beautiful view on the sea of Marmara. The receptionist helped us with arranging the boottour and taxi.

Went from the 30th April to 6th May. Staff are lovely and knowledgeable, informing us of the historic sights to see. Hotel was very central to main routes especially the blue mosque, tram line and grand bazaar.

Will miss Istanbul, especially the hotel cat we made friends with who slept on our bed every single night. To whose that stay in room 207, please leave your windows open and look after her with plenty of cat treats and food.

Preise wie in Europa, Service, Sauberkeit, Essen usw. wie im Mittelalter. Achten sie auf die schlechten Bewertungen, sie sind echt.

This is the worse hotel and it looks nothing like on the photo. I asked for a quite room as I am a light sleeper so they give me a room on the 3rd floor right below the restaurant. I could not sleep at night before someone moved tables and chair all night long. The room itself was very very small and not updated. There was an A/C but the smell was so bad so I kept just the window open.
Also, the location is busy and anywhere you go, you need to go up to hill..

Beliggenheten var veldig bra og resepsjonist en var veldig greie men hotellet hadde forferdelig høy fuktighet i tillegg masse ting på rommet og badet som var ikke i bra stand og trengte reparasjon,frokosten var ikke det som jeg pleie å få den i Istanbul.

It's location was noisy and hotel was in old Bazar area

Loved the location; charming building, charming staff. A nice European-style breakfast, clean and quaint rooms, and the plethora of cafes streetside was wonderful!

And abit of a good bad seagulls at breakfast
Don’t leave your plate outside or it will be gone
But you can eat inside if you want and what comes with well fed birds is you know what hard to clean every time I suppose but breakfast staff did a sterling job

Good hotel for location and price. The "king" room, offered as an alternative to a twin for 2 people was not large and only had a standard double bed but otherwise comfortable.

The hotel is very simple. If all you need is a bed and shower, it's a good value. First the good – the bed was comfortable, the rainfall shower was nice, check-in and check-out was easy, the food at the rooftop breakfast was acceptable and the view of the Sea of Marmara was a lovely way to start the morning.
The location was also fine. It's about a 10 minute uphill walk to the Grand Bazaar.
Negatives – the room was very tight. We had to squeeze around furniture to get to the far side of the bed. While all of the rooms are non-smoking, we still woke up with our room smelling of cigarette smoke every morning. If you're very sensitive, steer clear. Maybe it was wafting down from smokers on the rooftop terrace? Windows open or closed and A/C on or off didn't seem to make any difference. The WiFi worked fine in the lobby, but was basically non-existent in our room. Staff was also a mixed bag, mostly they were very friendly, but one day, we were waiting for a tour pickup and our driver was a bit late and I asked the front desk if he would call and reconfirm our pickup time. His first response was to demand to know why I hadn't booked the tour through the hotel.

Das Hotel ist sauber, Personal ganz toll, hilfsbereit und freundlich. Haben meine Mama sehr herzig empfangen.

Allgemein bin ich eher enttäuscht, weil die Bilder beim buchen nicht der Realität entsprechen, es sind auf keinen Fall 4 Sterne. Frühstück hat keine Auswahl.
Die Zimmer sind sehr klein.
Das gebuchte Hoteltransfer zum Flughafen hat nicht funktioniert, nach 20 min warten würde mir mitgeteilt, dass das Hotel Transfer nicht kommt, stattdessen wurde mir Taxi bestellt.
Für einen stressfreien Aufenthalt würde ich es eher nicht empfehlen,
