Location was amazing. Revolving restaurant for breakfast buffet really great.
Staff were amazingly helpful in assisting with any questions or advice for where to go and what to do
The room was large and comfortable and made up daily. he staff were friendly and the taxi pick up was very prompt. The position was perfect very close to beach, food, and the town centre and importantly for us the Qingdao railway station.
Breakfast was good BUT maybe just a little more western choices and you had to walk some way to get your choices meaning when eating alone youhad to leave your belonings out of site.
Location right opposite the beach
Room comfortable
Good view
Bathroom quite small.
Dining expensive.
breakfast is a little good.
old hotel, only a few members can speak english.
The location was the best, because it's right on the beach.
There were many, many things I did not like: most of the staff were unfriendly and rarely smiled or seemed accommodating. The buffet was poorly stocked, and the juice was never refilled; a lot of the tables were left dirty for too long, and the staff were extremely slow in cleaning up. In my room, after it had been cleaned up, I had to ask for the coffee to restocked and I even had to ask to have the cups cleaned! The next day the cups were cleaned, but the coffee wasn't restocked, even after I had been assured that it would be. All in all, I was sorely disappointed. It was way overpriced and I would not recommend this hotel.
Although it does not meet international 5 star level the stay was overall very positive with a nice and room with balcony facing the sea and close to the subway station and the old town. The breakfast buffet was not refilled long enough so that when we went for breakfast at 9:30 it was a hassle to get what we wanted.
The hotel was probably a great hotel in the 90s as the grant entrance shows. However the rooms are tired and in a desperste need of an overhall. Our room in the 10th floor had a great view of the beach but a terrinle smell of sewerage! We resorted in plugging all bathroom inlets and putting a mat over the floor drain plus leaving the balcony door open.
we ll go to Qingdao again but not in that hotel :(
Multiple courses which included soup, sashimi, sushi, cold meats, salad, cooked meat and vegetables, then finally dessert of miniature cakes and to finish it off ice cream, I was finally sated. Views were spectacular as we did the full 360° of Qingdao. The service was so good we did not even notice them come and take our plates. A bonus voucher is available if you agree to eat everything you bring back to your table, an excellent initiative as it discourages wastage.
On my maiden trip to China we travelled to Qingdao city for a business trip and the stay was arranged by our guests at the Dynasty hotel. I absolutely loved the sea breeze and the view from the 11th floor room which had a tiny balcony and a small seating area along with it. The room was cozy and comfortable . The breakfast and lunch at the revolving restaurant were also nice and provided a nice variety of dishes and helped us sample some Chinese cuisine which we might not have tried otherwise. The restaurant also provided a good view of both the sea and the hills. Overall the experience was pleasant and I would recommend even leisure travellers to visit the hotel.
During our tour of Qingdao, we stayed in multiple hotels (a different hotel each night in fact), and one of the first hotels we stayed in was the Huiquan Dynasty Hotel.
The hotel is a stones throw from the beach, which is great for those wanting that stroll on the sand - we didn't, as it was like 2C at night and with a chilling wind, but I imagine I would have in the summer months.
The hotel itself wasn't too bad at all, a typical hotel room in China in a moderate hotel, it was a comfy room, spacious, with good beds, and a view of the beach. It was a comfortable night's rest.
Unfortunately, where it fell absolutely flat was with the breakfast. It was pretty disgusting if I'm honest, though admittedly, this may be due to me being a highly Westernised Chinese, but then others in our party (from Guangzhou) felt the same.
Breakfast was a buffet, but there was very little that I could eat. There were containers full of pickled veg, cold boiled eggs, leftover noodles and rice from the night before (it seems) served lukewarm/cold, limp browning salad (who has a salad for breakfast man?), and not a cereal or toast in sight. Oh, cold French fries were also being offered - in fact, we were offered cold French fries or shredded cold/raw potato throughout our stay in Shandong, so I assume it's a "thing" there.
Anyway, as it is, the food let the place down terribly, BUT, the room itself was pretty good if I'm honest. So definitely stay here if you're in the area, but maybe go out and find something else to eat for breakfast, as it was truly appalling here.
For whatever reason we got stuck with smoking rooms. The front desk lady was very rude and basically said all rooms are smoking barring one wing of the building. This is a poorly ACed building from the 70s. Everything inside was extremely humid. My AC was turned to under 10 Celsius and it was at least 20 Celsius in my room. Definitely could not sleep well. I'll never stay at this hotel again.
We enjoyed the luxury of this hotel for 4 nights - could have stayed there forever! The room was spacious, the bed fabulous, lighting very good, tea available in the room, and a wonderful balcony overlooking the beach. The towels and bedding was so soft and so comforting. Bathroom functioned well. We observed several weddings, with cannons firing rose blossoms, a drum band, a fire breather, and yellow and red snake dancers. Breakfast on the 25th floor was excellent, local food, great selection of pastries and breads, even coffee! It was very busy as it was around May 1 and 2. Service excellent, extra blanket and pillows available. The pool/sauna/massage area was being renovated, so we couldn't use this.
Huiquan Dynasty is an older hotel with a classic ornate lobby. It's located across from beach #1 and is a short cab ride from Beer Street, Tai Dong market, or the downtown train station, with metro line 3 only 10 minutes walk away. Classic Chinese breakfast buffet at the rotating 25th floor restaurant is not to be missed. Room was very comfortable if a little small. Wifi was adequate. A/C was spotty but I had great weather ( 27 C ) so that didn't matter much. Laundry service was good, too. I would definitely stay there again.
Just a short night over after a long day of travel by train, meetings and dinner.
Reception desk is professional.
Room is good and thank you for the free upgrade where I enjoyed a wonderful sea view in the morning even if it was not the right season.
The missing toilet paper was quickly solved.
We read that the Chinese restaurant at the Dynasty Hotel lobby serves great food. So it was a must in our Qingdao itinerary.
And true enough all dishes were wonderful, with the sea cucumber stew and "squirrel fish" being most memorable.
We had a pleasant experience, as the restaurant was atypically orderly and neat, and also it was helmed by competent service staff. Good.
after my rock hard bed in Jinan and rough hotel , this place was luxury in comparison, only stayed 1 night but the bed was soooo comfy and the pillows were so fluffy and soft, breakfast in the revolving restuarant was fabulous....everything you could want for breakfast was there and BACON!!! i sure had my share of that as I hadnt seen any anywhere esle in my 3 week visit to Shangdong area...so can recommend for sure, just nut out a bargin with them or I found rooms were cheaper, much cheaper... on here through trip advisor instead of directly on check in with them
We had never been to Asia and didn't know what to expect. We attended a conference in Korea and then met customers in Qingdao. The hotel was very comfortable. We had a beautiful view of the ocean. There was always something happening on the beach to watch from early morning until dark. There was a nice restaurant in the lobby for lunch, but the best thing was the rotating restaurant on the 25th floor. That was where the morning buffet was and then a dinner buffet in the evening. Great views in all directions that made you want to linger over your morning coffee. The staff couldn't have been more accommodating. My husband gave some technical classes in a building nearby, so for us the locations was perfect.
Location of Hotel.
This hotel is right on the beach front but not near any shopping areas.
Checking Inn.
It was efficient and friendly, completed in a few minutes. Could not ask for better.
The Room.
The room was a good size and overlooking the beach. The bed was very comfortable and the pillows excellent. The room was very clean, there were sufficient towels and the walk-in shower was good, there was also a large bath. Toiletries were excellent. Small bar fridge that was adequate for me and there was complimentary tea/coffee. Internet in the room was very good. The room also had a safe and an iron and ironing board. There was plenty of storage space and room to move. TV has sufficient channels and news and business channels to keep abreast of world events.
Dining.
I had the breakfast which was good. The chef makes a fine omelet, one of the best I have had. I also had dinner and the food was excellent.
Smoking.
People still smoke in China, and they smoke a lot. Make sure you are for a non-smoking room, in fact demand it!
Gym
The hotel has a good gym and sufficient for when on holiday.
Bottom Line
Would I recommend this hotel to family and friends, yes.
Would I stay here again, yes.
A pleasant surprise in Quindao.
