The restaurant had excellent food. The buffet wasn't that good for the price.
Shower nozzle had to be replaced. That should have been picked up by housekeeping I believe. Only half the water came out of shower head. I did report it in the morning and nozzle was replaced by the time I came back in the afternoon. Cable channels were minimal.
Nice quiet room, excellent bed and pillows, I did not realize that there was a blanket I could have used though, didn't see it until I was getting ready to leave. I was ill and called down to front desk to see if someone could bring up a luggage rack and help me downstairs, and the maid came with it and helped me to car.
The luggage racks are not compatible for someone who doesn't use a traditional suitcase, I had my laptop, an open tote style bag with clothing and a small hanging bag with funeral clothing, bag with my dress shoes, and my tablet, purse, I sleep with a fan and bring my own since the front desk had told me in a phone call there weren't any to borrow? I could not get the WiFi to work, and when I tried to use the phone I was not able to hear, they sent someone up to help me and he got things figured out but the phone is very confusing to someone that has not seen one that looks like something from Star Trek, no discernible earpiece or mouthpiece, and the front and back look too much alike, which is why I could not hear them nor they me. I was also clearly struggling to get to my room and to come back down to return luggage rack, I didn't even think to ask for help when I checked in, an incoming guest helped me get things out of my car and helped me get things on the cart and helped me get inside the lobby.

The TV did not work in my room. The staff was not helpful, took them three additional hours to get my room ready when I arrived at the property. Also none of the exterior doors where unlocked inviting anyone in.
Great place for a visit to Columbia, MO. The HGI is not located in the downtown area but accessible. The rooms are standard for HGI as is the value per room to location. I think the friendly staff and service is the difference.

Our room #244 was very musty/ moldy smell. The top blankets were very worn and did not appear clean.
Our room service took a long time and by the time we got our food, they sent the wrong salads.

This was a decent hotel HOWEVER they do NOT serve a self serve breakfast, as advertised. Everything is “made to order” even though they have “breakfast buffet” listed on their menu. For me, I do not have time to wait for them to cook items that would take 20 mins to receive. I have to eat and leave quickly. All of the other Hilton Garden Inns do the actual buffet except this one. I even spoke to the mgr about this yesterday and she assured me there would be a buffet for the next 2 days while I was here. Nope. There was nothing. Very disappointing. They really need to remove “breakfast buffet” since it’s now not any different than ordering food off of the menu. Very misleading
