Location and history
Very cute and the ambiance was nice.
The plumbing smelled really bad. It also smelled like someone had recently used our bathroom to poop and so the whole room smelled like it.
The staff especially the receptionists were very knowledgeable about the history of the Glen Tavern Inn. Enzos Italian restaurant inside of the Tavern served some great Italian dishes for dinner. It was a very different experience for me staying at a 100 plus year-old hotel that has a haunting history with regards to ghost and paranormal activities. The room I stayed in was very interesting and Victorian. The first night of being there, I noticed an almost shadowy smoke passing through on the upper wallpaper of the bed as I sat on the table doing work that evening. I can barely move or stand up but I simply ignored it. The third floor of the building was also interesting since the entire third floor has so much energy behind it. I managed to walk up there with a co-worker and we both had a feeling of heaviness and being light headed. We read the history of each room on the third floors framed board attached to the wall. Overall, it was a very pleasant stay, and I highly recommend this place for those seeking a different experience while travelling. Great staff and good owners!
Things went well .. no negative experience.
Historic & quaint! We loved the ghost adventures & the decor. The staff and people were friendly and the town is lovely.
It was quaint. Staff was friendly and helpful and nice to my dog. The restaurant was very good. The room was big and quiet.
The bed was too soft.
I didn't like the bathroom, was all dirty
Carpet was not vaccum
Little bad experience and for the money I pay I expected to see something else
I liked the ambience and history of the Inn and the location
Due to the buildings age I don’t think they could change the step up to bathroom and toilet.
The location of the facility was good.
The rooms were a little outdated..
This historic property is beautiful with a lot of character. Built in 1915 it's history shows in the huge fireplace, beautiful woodwork, and design of the interior spaces. Apparently the property was neglected in the past, and has been restored by the current owners. The restaurant and bar received a recent remodel and is very nice. Our king room was spacious and well equipped, and had a modern, and very quiet, mini-split air conditioner. There were a few things that could have been upgraded and improved, such as the bathroom and the old, orginal, window. But the room was comfortable, we slept well, and very clean. And it a bargain. We will be back, and already have friends booking a stay on our recommendation.
Fixtures, floor, and shower surround need to be replaced. They're old and not as nice as the rest of the room.
They took great care of us. Very helpful staff. Really cool vibe and decor, especially if you’re into the haunted hotel thing. Great alternative to pricier hotels in Ojai and Ventura if you don’t mind a little drive.
Continental breakfast or breakfast options would be nice, but the free coffee and ice water is appreciated.
The staff was great, very informative about the property. Location was perfectly located near facilities.
