Service among the finest I've encountered anywhere
Relais Todini sits high on a hilltop just outside Todi, and it's unlike anywhere I've stayed. The former home of the industrialist Todini, the property is wrapped in park-like gardens, dotted with sculptures, and home to its own small wildlife park — more private estate than hotel.
But it's the people who make it unforgettable. The care and attention here are extraordinary — genuinely among the best I've experienced in all my travels. Someone is there the moment you need them, gracious and unhurried, as if you were the only guest on the property.
The pool is fantastic, and the views from poolside and the restaurant are stunning, sweeping across the Umbrian hills. Even the smallest rooms are beautifully proportioned, with supremely comfortable bedding and high-quality linens. Bathrooms are generous by Italian standards — and by any standard; some rooms have Jacuzzi tubs, and ours was a treat.
One tip: bring a car. The peace and meditative quiet of this place are part of its magic, but a car lets you slip out into the surrounding countryside whenever you'd like a change of pace.

De lokatie
Ontbijt was karig, veel extra’s met bij betalen
Die Lage ist herrlich - Sicht über die liebliche Hügellandschaft, schöne Terrasse, hervorragende Bedienung durch durchwegs sehr freundliche Mitarbeitende. Das Bett war bequem, die Dusche hat perfekt funktioniert. Das Nachtessen (am ersten und letzten Tag haben wir im Relais gegessen) war ausgezeichnet. Die Gäste sind sowohl internationale (durchwegs ruhige, angenehme) Reisende als auch Einheimische. Am Wochenende ist das Relais sehr beliebt für Anlässe, die jedoch keine Einschränkung für die Gäste mit sich bringen. Der Pool ist hinreichend gross für ein paar Längen hin und her. Ein grosser eigener Parkplatz mit gedeckten Plätzen ist ein grosses Plus, ebenso wie die Nähe zum sehr hübschen Städtchen Todi sowie weiteren schönen Orten. Spazieren direkt ab dem Relais ist sehr angenehm, nicht zuletzt zum hauseigenen Wild Park Leo.
Was ist verbessern würde: Zum Frühstück wäre es schön, wenn jeden Tag eine feine, lokaltypische Käse- und eine andere Spezialität offeriert würde (obwohl die Omelette, die Focaccia, die (auch Vollkorn-)Brote und die Auswahl an Früchten, Kernen, Nüssen sehr zufriedenstellend ist).
Weiter wäre es sehr sinnvoll und angemessen (da ein gehobenes Haus), wenn jeden Tag eine Flasche Mineralwasser (1.5 L) im Zimmer bereitgestellt würde statt der vielen kleinen Fläschchen. Damit würde sich der sporadische Wassereinkauf erübrigen .....

non ci è stata assegnata la camera che avevamo prenotato con patio a piano terra ma al secondo piano senza ascensore e senza balcone. I servizi sono fantasma fotografando e mandando wa. La colazione buona ma non eccellente come avevamo letto senza cibi caldi solo uova sode ( il resto a pagamento) , succhi di frutta pessimi.

We loved everything about this hotel, which was one of the highlights of our Italy trip, especially the staff, both at reception and the managers of the restaurant, who couldn't have been nicer.
I wish the weather had been warmer so we could have used the pool!
