Leonardo Royal Hotel Mallorca Palmanova Bay

We visited the Leonardo Royal, Palmanova bay last summer on a family holiday. As a family of 5, hotel options are more limited but this one was a great find.

The hotel is very clean and quite modern, our room was lovely and whilst not overly spacious, there was enough room for us all with wardrobe space and comfortable beds.

We went bed and breakfast and the breakfast was lovely with plenty of choice for everyone (churros and pancakes were a big hit with the kids!) having a small kitchenette was ideal for preparing lunches and on an evening, we ate out in Palmanova where this is plenty of choice of fantastic restaurants.

The view over Palmanova bay is absolutely stunning, we had a partial seaview (gorgeous view of the bay to the left but obscured by trees to the right).

What we weren't expecting was the range of daily activities, our kids absolutely loved archery, air rifle shooting, darts, table tennis and kayaking and it gave them plenty to do each day. The only downside for us was that the children weren't able to use inflatables in the pool so we had to take them to the beach instead.

Do not be put off by the reviews complaint about the uphill walk, yes the hotel is up a hill so coming back from Palmanova, you do have to walk up hill, but unless you have mobility issues, this really isn't an issue, my children were 6, 9 and 10 at the time and they never moaned about the walk once.

We had a fabulous holiday and would absolutely return!

Our first trip to Spain also our first all inclusive holiday.
From the moment we checked in *although it was late* the reception staff told us there is a buffet in the restaurant if we wanted a snack before going to bed.
First and second night we was kept awake so 3am I called reception who promptly send the security up and we finally got some sleep.
We couldn't fault the hotel in any way, nor the staff in any area of the complex.
Each and every one of the staff seemed so proud of there jobs and seemed to go above and beyond any expectations.
I would recommend the hotel to anyone wanting fantastic views from the hotel. It is ideal for couples or even families.
I'd certainly recommend the all inclusive as well as there is a good choice of different foods .

Would I go back? Yes without a doubt but would ask for a room on the top floor. So no one is above me as im a light sleeper 😀

Mostly good, basic room, we had self catering appartment cannot do any cooking as too small, and no food shops close, we ended up buying breakfast better to do this with your booking as much more expensive day by day, zero vegan options which is a shame, the two beds in the kitchen are fish finger beds but ok for a couple of nights. The hotel is noisy which makes sleeping hard, there is a noisy buzzing sound contacted likely aircon, staff are nice pool is cold and never in the sun, lovely view of bay and mountains, cannot complain for the price. Its a little walk from the nearest beach and a decent hill climb of thats your thing,

Nadia on reception gave us lots of information on things to do in the area and was always so helpful.

A huge thank you to Leonardo Royal Hotel Mallorca Palma Nova Bay after a recent lovely 5 day break! The staff were friendly and helpful, the rooms clean and modern and the sea front rooms WOW what a view! A special thanks to Anna on the entertainment team for the fun had with rifle shooting, darts and table tennis! I look forward to returning in 2026 with the family.

We went as a group of 5 guys wanting a quiet weekend abroad. The stay at this Leonardo was great, with spacious rooms, excellent views of the bay and most importantly superb entertainment!

Anna kept us busy with archery, paddle boarding, pingpong, darts, kayaking all included in our stay. She made our stay in Mallorca that extra bit special, and we were very greatful for her enthusiasm and knowledge of the local area.

The location was great, with a short walk to the beach at Palmanova, with plenty of bars and restaurants within walking distance. If you wanted to go to Palma itself, there are regular buses from a stop not far from the hotel, which was very convinient.

The breakfast provided had decent options with both hot and cold choices. We went relatively off season, so the price for all this was reasonable. This meant that the terrace was a quiet, but suited us well for relaxing in the sun. The rooms were clean and facilities modern.

Overall, we had a great stay and would certainly recommend the hotel to anyone after a similar trip!

I've just returned from a wonderful week's stay at this beautiful hotel!
Hotel is in a great location with stunning views over the bay. It is located on a slight hill, however with the incredible views it offers this is to be expected. There is actually 3 hotels which are all connected I believe one is all inclusive, one is apartments and the one I stayed in at the top for suites and half board.
The staff are absolutely fantastic from the reception team helping me book trips, to the waiters and the bar men! The cleaners did an exceptional job and everything was spotlesss. The entertainment team offered a wide variety and were always about. Although I was a solo traveller I really noticed Celia off the entertainment team, our of my 7 night stay I saw her 5 nights, each with the same enthusiasm and energy and constantly kept the children entertained. Even after the disco had finished she ran around and played with thr children non stop, was lovely to see.
Also a special mention to Nadia on the reception team! From the moment she checked me in she remembered my name, spoke to me everyday, made sure I was having a good holiday and gave me lots of information and direction. I was very gutted to not get to say goodbye properly. Nadia is a real asset to this hotel and couldn't have asked for anyone better!
The only slight downside to this hotel was the food. The breakfast was beautiful, always something for everyone, could get omlettes cooked fresh too which was a real bonus. Plenty of fruit and yoghurt to choose from as well if your not a cooked breakfast person!
The meals at night is where the hotel was let down, there was plenty if variety to choose from however the food was always bordering on cold. Now I'm well aware food will only ever be warm after being under the lamps amd I do not expect steaming hot food however the food everynight was only barely warm at a push and it was a real shame because everything else was so brilliant.
The rooms had plenty of space, beautiful balconies and views and everything you could need for your stay.
Overall, a really positive stay, a beautiful location, lovely hard working staff, just needs work on the evening meals!
I would most certainly return and can not wait to be back!

We recently stayed for 2 weeks as group of two adults and our 17 year old daughter and really enjoyed our stay.

This hotel does say it’s in palma nova but it’s actually very close to magaluf too which my daughter enjoyed and actually there was no issues with noise or anything. It is also so near the bay which has some lovely bars and restaurants as well as some shops.

The sea view from our room which was 678 was just breathtaking, just over the main upstairs bar. The room was really spacious and had everything we needed. The air con was good and the rooms were cleaned every day to a high standard. Towels changed and sheets on request. We also loved that there was a good selection of Uk channels on the tv. The bed was also really comfortable and black out curtains were really good.

We stayed half board and always found something to eat for dinner and breakfast, there was a good selection and the staff in restaurant are lovely. There was always a paella, pizza, pasta, meat, bread, cheeses and lovely salad area. There is small outside area to eat too though the restaurant does have air conditioning. We also had a plated cold dinner waiting for us when we arrived.

The pool area is never too crowded and no issues getting sun beds. This hotel is very close to the beach and has such a nice outlook when sunbathing, the view was just amazing. The splash pool for the children was really good.

Daniel the entertainment person was brilliant and good fun. There was a selection of activities but he was never pushy about joining. Never had the opportunity to kayaking free as an activity through the hotel,my daughter fancy him. We didn’t really stay in for entertainment but did do the Bingo one Monday evening which was good fun.

Overall a lovely hotel and holiday and def would arrive.

The hotel is in a lovely location and the staff are fantastic however we were quite disappointed with the cleaniness of the room, we doscovered alot of very acrive little bugs under the bed which I had to spray and also cupboards doors were in need of repair. The double bed was 2 singles pushed together which even then had a huge gap in between and the noise from the water pipes really disrupted our sleep at night. We had to purchase ear plugs from the store next door as the pipes rattled every 3/4 minutes continuous day and night.
The room and noisy pipes and room hygiene let the beautiful hotel down. However it did have good points such as the staff, location, activities put on for the and the rest of the hotel was modern and clean

Great hotel lovely location, little hill to walk down to get to the beach everything near by and beach which was lovely as the pool was freezing, nice staff and room sheets didn’t get changed for the week we stayed though and only negative is I had 3 kids and one day a little noise and the reception guy came down so someone in a family hotel doesn’t like a tiny bit noise apart from that a good choice of hotel, entertainment girl was really friendly and good with kids had bingo and kids disco every night and activities during the day for kids, would definitely go back.

Terrible experience , noisy air conditioners outside the rooms (generators ) all night, dirty sheets, and very rude reception staff. After three sleepless nights we had to leave and move to another hotel. Avoid this property at all costs.

The hotel is beautiful and has amazing sea views. The staff are friendly and very helpful, especially Alessandro and Julia at the reception. The rooms and hotel were clean and very comfortable. Breakfast had plenty of options to choose from. The location is great—close to shops and restaurants, and just a 5-minute walk to the beach. It's a perfect place for a relaxing getaway, but there’s also lots to do if you prefer to stay active. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Lovely hotel cleanliness not very good at all room was not cleaned we’ll hand prints on mirrors yea stains on cupboards top floor dirty Towels for shower where useless no bath sheets more like hand towels

Amazing staff, hotel and area. Would highly recommend to anyone going for either a few weeks or just a long weekend. Great place.

Just back from a 2 week stay with my husband and 3 boys, it was perfect. We adore this hotel so much, we came August 2024 so this was our 2nd time visiting and hope to visit next year. We were given the same room as last time, I don't know if it was coincidence or not. They gave us 470 last year due to our son having mobility issues and that level was easy access for everything in the hotel. It was a very nice suprise after a long day travelling and arriving at 2am to the same familiar room. It felt like we had never left. So if we do come back again please give us 470 😊

All boys loved it, but I think the older 2 were just there for the fancy food and 2 weeks off school with a bit of shopping but our youngest had the time of his life!!

The only thing that let it down this year was no all inclusive like we had in 2024, this wouldn't stop us coming back but it was definitely missed this year. Apart from that our stay was perfect, all staff were lovely and friendly. Massive thank you to Christian and the other chefs who once again went above and beyond for my husbands multiple food allergies. We had to order from the snack bar this year for lunch due to no AI and they were able to provide suitable food for my husband there aswell.

The childrens entertainment were amazing with our youngest son who has special needs. We knew Danny from last year so it was nice to see a friendly face and thank you to Anna who also made our sons stay so special, he had the best time dancing with her. He loved singing on stage, feeling like a popstar most nights even if he did only sing the same 5 songs! we'll learn some new ones for next time.

Big Thank you to Danny for spending his last night with us on his day off, it meant so much to us. Our son got a little tearful leaving as he couldn't say one last goodbye to Danny but we managed to write a little note (or 2) to pass on to him so thank you the barman for the pen and paper. I think his name was Yordan. We also wrote a 2nd one after someone at reception asked our boy if he wanted to write another. I didnt catch her name, I think she was a manager. I hope the notes reached Danny.

Lovely Stay again been coming a few times. Food was excellent and staff very friendly. Special mention to all the reception team especially Scottish Vicki are extremely friendly and knowledgeable selling us some great excursions. The rooms and the hotel itself are all immaculately maintained. Thank you will be back.

We recently stayed at Leonardo Bay Hotel in Palmanova and unfortunately had such a poor experience that I requested a refund and moved to another hotel.

On arrival, we were allocated an apartment instead of the studio I had booked. I was told it was an “upgrade,” but the apartment was super dark, smelled strongly of mould, and had a kitchen ceiling covered in grease and visible mould, felt like someone’s basement. The receptionist was polite and moved us to a studio, which was more pleasant in layout, but still had major issues:
• Strong mould smell throughout.
• Air conditioning did not cool the room at all, instead it made the mould stench worse. We then had to sleep with the balcony door wide open for some fresh air.
• Room dirty on arrival, I had to clean it myself. Picture of disinfecting wipe after wiping the rooms surfaces.
• Bathroom completely flooded when showering.

We checked in during the evening and hoped that after I cleaned the place it might smell better and be livable for the week, but after just one night it was clear we couldn’t stay. The constant mould smell gave me a headache and worsened my partner’s allergies, it felt unsafe to be breathing in something so toxic.

Breakfast was also very poor , the bread felt stale, the restaurant was dirty, and the atmosphere was quite dingy. The pool area was not appealing either and felt neglected.

Staff were not pleasant when hearing of our complaints and seemed extremely unhappy about issuing a refund, not once did anyone apologise. Overall, the hotel felt very uncomfortable and uneasy to stay in. The positive is that they did issue a refund without any issues.

Both my partner and I work in the hospitality industry, so we understand the standards that should be upheld. Sadly, this property falls far below them.

The hotel needs serious improvements in cleanliness, maintenance, staff attitude, and food quality before it can meet even the most basic expectations. The mould issue in particular is a serious health risk that should not be ignored.

Thankfully, we were able to move to a different hotel. The contrast was night and day, it completely turned our trip around.
